Completed Myth Storyline Days

Intro day (July 1)

You open your eyes, finding yourself in the middle of a vast clearing. Stone walls tower above your head, the ivy climbing them newly grown, much too thin to even consider climbing it to look for a way out. Four passages spread from the clearing, each leading off in a straight line as far as you can see.
“Wow…” you murmur. “This maze is a lot bigger than I thought.”
“Yes,” Moss replies. “This maze contains hundreds of fragmented universes—if we were to explore the whole place, it would take a lot longer than the time we have.”
She glances at her hand, waving her fingers back and forth. “Just like I thought. The fading has already begun.”
Lifting your own hand to your face, you gasp as you notice that you can see through it—though it is still mostly opaque, it's still very concerning.
“Sorry to throw you all into this,” Re sympathetically addresses the group as you take a wary step back. “It's just…you're pretty much the multiverse's last hope, and there wasn't much time to give a warning.”
You take a deep, shaky breath of the sticky-feeling air of the Maze before turning back to your cohort leaders.
“Great job creating your character,” Robin smiles to you. “You should probably introduce yourself to the rest of the recruits—you'll be spending the whole month with them, after all!”

Please share your nickname, pronouns, one of your writing goals for the month, and anything else you'd like us to know about you!

Completed Myth Storyline Days

Break-ish day (July 2)

Hello, Mythians! Each Saturday this month (except for the last Saturday) will have no storyline, so that you can catch up on irl things and participate in cabin wars if they are happening that week.
However, you all seem really motivated, so I thought I'd give you an extra challenge to complete! This is totally optional and won't earn any points, so don't feel pressured to participate if you're busy.
Find two people from different cohorts than your own (for example, if you're a mage, contact a bard and a warrior) and start a conversation with them! Collaboration between the cohorts will be necessary in completing future challenges, so getting to know your fellow campers will help us to escape the maze and set the multiverse right! To make sure everyone gets a message, please try to contact people who haven't yet received any comments!

Completed Myth Storyline Days

efore we get started with our challenge, I’ve got a couple announcements to make.
First of all, today is the first of our cabin roleplay days! On Sundays, recruits are encouraged to turn their comments into roleplays as their Myth characters! Remember, as long as at least a third of your writing is outside of dialogue, you can count these as words!
Also, the first weekly is out today! Check out the Main Cabin to see what it is! I’ll be in the cabin for a couple hours tomorrow (check later for the exact time) to host a weekly writing workshop! We can provide each other encouragement as well as do some unofficial word wars while we work on our weeklies.
Finally, we might have some prizes for people who complete this first weekly You’ll hear more about this soon!

Andd here’s our first challenge! Good luck, and let a leader know if you have any questions!

Entering an arched doorway, you find yourself walking along a steep cliffside, water pounding the banks below. Up here, though, it is serene, the green grass and white flowers momentarily distracting you from the importance of your quest.
The sound of galloping hooves shakes the ground behind you, and you spin to face it. Even after only a few days of practice, your abilities are starting to feel natural. Maybe being surrounded by your cohorts helps to give you extra motivation.
Before you are a trio of hooded figures atop horses, each brandishing a pointed bronze sword in the shape of a thin leaf.
“I impose upon the that thou mayst avoid the Dagda,” one says, their horse pawing the ground, “or face us.”
“The Dagda?” Moss's eyes widen, and she lowers her hands, gently releasing the green magic that was gathering in them. “He is here?”
“Yes,” the horseman says, voice low and gravelly. “Is he the one you seek?”
Moss shakes her head fervently. “No, no. Definitely not! We're just looking for… a stick.”
“A stick,” the rider on the right says disbelievingly. “And we're to think that you came all the way here, with the world in this condition, for a piece of wood?”
“Well, you see, it's not just any stick,” Re explains.
“It's more of an… artifact,” finishes Robin.
Behind the central rider's hood, you see a single eyebrow slowly arch. “And you expect us to let you take it from us?”
“Well, to be fair, it wasn't yours to begin with.”
The eyebrow goes up even further, and a sword points down to Moss. “How did we come upon this ‘artifact?’”
“We're honestly not sure,” Robin admitted. “Someone broke the tree, and the pieces scattered all over the realms…”
“So a piece ended up here, and you want it back? If it is here, it is ours.”
“I really didn't want to do this…” Moss mutters.

You need to get past the guardian druids. To do so, think of a plan involving least four spells, weapons, and songs, and comment in this studio to see what happens.

Six recruits form a huddle, whispering plans back and forth as the druids look on confusedly, still pointing their swords in your direction.
Suddenly, in an explosion of energy, the group breaks apart. Ayid whispers a spell, and fire bursts from the grass next to the druids. Their horses rear, shying away from the flames and nearing the edge of the cliff.
“Now!” Zai yells, and Zura tosses two bottles.
The glimmering potions soar through the air, caught deftly in the hands of two warriors, Erie and Xadock. Xadock immediately flickers out of sight while Erie speeds up, racing towards the stunned druids faster than they can react.
The warriors' two daggers point towards the druids, and Aurora and Zai hold their instruments at the ready behind them, waiting for their cue to play a dart-shooting note.
The druids eyes flick from the warriors to the bards to the mage's fire. They are surrounded.
However, they have magic of their own.
“I impose upon thee that thou mayst lower your weapons,” the leader says, voice thick and sticky with magic.
Entranced, Erie, Jay, Xadock, and Zai do his bidding, but Aurora thinks fast.
She plays a few notes on her lyre, the familiar entry to Never Gonna Give You Up, and the druids immediately clutch their ears in terror, falling from their horses. Cartoonish spirals appear in front of their eyes.
“Run!” Zura and Ayid shout simultaneously, and the team follows her down the hillside, out of sight of the druids.

Completed Myth Storyline Days

Hello and welcome to our first skill day! Skill days should be significantly simpler than challenges (we've also changed some of the future challenges to make them easier to understand), all you need to do is choose a path and collect three or more people with appropriate skills! I would recommend to stick to three skills for this day, since you may need to complete two challenges.
Once you've found an appropriate amount of people and skills, reply to my comment with the path you chose and the people who will be participating!

After passing the guardians, you walk along the cliffside. Though you have no idea where you are heading, Moss seems to know. She leads you up a slope, and you gasp as you come over the top.
In a small valley rests an enormous house–the door is easily three times your height, and each brick of the walls is the size of one of your world's small cars.
Your leaders start down the hillside, and, exchanging an amazed look with your fellow recruits, you follow.
As you near the house, Moss gestures to you to stay quiet, and she sneaks up to the house.
You watch from several feet away as she grips the space between two bricks with her fingertips, then pulls herself up, repeating the action several times before she is at the height of a large window. She peers through it, looking both ways before dropping quietly to the ground.
“It looks like the Dagda is away,” she tells you.
“Who is this guy again?” you ask.
“He's not just a guy, he's a god,” Moss says. “The most powerful warrior in all of Celtic mythology, in fact. Where most other gods have a single domain, he has many abilities, and he leads a group of fierce warriors across this land.”
You nod. “Are we going in there?”
“Yes,” Moss replies. “The Dagda seems to have left his things at home—we can only hope that the tree is there too.”
A mage casts a helpful speed spell on the group as you all clamber up the wall, open the heavy window, and slide through.
A loud bubbling sounds from one corner of the room, and you turn to see a massive pot, more like a cauldron, really, of porridge. Hanging on the wall above it is a massive club, its head worn.
“Where should we look for the piece first?” Moss asks in a whisper.

Will you climb up to the club or investigate the porridge? Gather three people with skills related to your choice (e.g. two athletics and one investigation to reach the club). Move quickly, because if you choose wrong, you'll have to search the other place before the Dagda gets home!

With a boost from Aurora and Erie, Ayid manages to grab the bottom of the club. Clamping on to the grooved surface, she shimmies upwards, running her hand along the weapon in search of any hidden compartments.
“There's nothing!” she calls down to the team, dropping back to the floor.
“It must be in the porridge!” Moss exclaims, turning to the tall, bubbling pot.

Three people need to reply to Moss's comment in this studio to investigate the porridge with the skills they'll be using! Perception and Investigation will be the best for this job.
Hurry up, though, you need to get the piece before the Dagda returns!

Balancing precariously on the rim of the massive cauldron, you gulp. A waft of warm air floats up to you, carrying the scent of porridge and fresh berries.
“How are we going to do this?” you ask your teammate.
“Should we just jump in?” they suggest.
You sigh. It looks like, yet again, the task is up to you. Plugging your nose and squeezing your eyes shut, you leap off the edge.
Plunging in to the thick, soupy substance, you try to paddle through it with one arm in search of the bottom. The heat closes in around you, but you dive deeper and deeper before your hand clenches around something.
You kick your legs, lungs screaming for air, back towards the top.
As you burst out from the cauldron, dripping porridge from your hair, you show the glowing fragment proudly to the rest of the team.

Completed Myth Storyline Days

Welcome to our second challenge day, themed around Mexican mythology and written by the incredible @RLove10! We've simplified the process a little bit, and we'll be doing some more writing rather than teamwork today.

You made your way out of the last area of the maze. It had been a tiring day and everyone wanted to rest. The captains notice this and stop walking.
“We’ll camp here tonight!” Moss announces.
Everyone helped get the camp set; you were tired and sat down. You place your things on the floor and see how they start moving. The earth is shaking and a hole is opening in front of you. You stutter as you call the captains. They come to you and get close to the hole, a little bit too close you think. The leaders inspect the hole and while you are close you hear the sound of water moving.
“Do you hear that?” you ask.
“Yes, it’s a river,” Robin says, moving a bush away. “It may be a signal, we do need water.”
“Should we follow it? It might be dangerous, we are still learning how the maze works,” Re questions. “I say we go alone and leave the recruits in here.”
“I’ll stay with them,” Moss says.
Robin and Re get a canoe and follow the river and you stay there, watching them leave. Moss gets back to the other recruits but you keep watching the captains. Suddenly you see a dog, a Xoloitzcuintle. Moss also sees it and gasps.
“Oh no!” Moss yells, “they are following the river to the underworld!”
“What? How do you know?” you ask, confused.
“The dog! The souls who want to cross the river, need a brown dog to go with them. The maze must have got the river here! If we don’t stop them soon they will get to Mictlantecuhtli, the Mexican god of death…” Moss explains.

You have to save them! One person with a water spell or instrument that can be used to bludgeon must write 100 words to make the river go slower or block it by making a tree fall into it.
Two people with a dagger, greataxe, or blade on the instrument must sprint for 1.5 minutes to cut wood to make another canoe. Two people with a speed potion must write 120 words to go quickly in the new canoe to stop Re and Robin from entering the underworld!

Andd thanks to Zura, Ayid, Erie, Jay, and Zai, we've already gotten to the conclusion!!

You get Robin and Re out of the river just in time. When you are back in the camp you notice something is different. You look around and see a tree where there was nothing before.
“I’m sorry but, am I crazy or did the tree move?” you ask
“I think the trees moved, forming a path,” Moss says.
“Let’s go then, we still have a lot of ground to cover,” Re replies.
Everyone followed the three leaders to the next part of the maze, where a big temple with a new obstacle was awaiting.

Completed Myth Storyline Days

Hello and welcome to our second skill day! These days should be relatively easy to complete–first, reply to one of my comments to vote for a path. Once a comment has at least five votes, I'll post a second comment for people to offer their skills for use in the challenge.

You’ve been little time in the Maze, but things are already challenging. As you and the others keep walking you notice how the ground’s surface changes from grass to stone. You lift your gaze and see a big temple, made of stone just like the ground. It had a round top, stairs in the middle of it and on the stairs’ sides you could see sculptures of creatures you didn’t recognize. They had the head of a snake, and feathers all around it.
You follow your captains through the stairs but suddenly halt. You try to see what’s going on and accidentally kick some rocks. Before you can do anything else you hear a rattling sound coming from the temple. You raise your head slightly to see what it is.
In the middle of the temple there is a snake-like creature, with feathers all around it. The creature is in a defensive position; knowing that something is close to it.
“What is that?” you ask the captains.
“Quetzalcoatl, the feathered snake,” Re whispers, “he’s known as the god of wind and as the creator of this universe. He is a hybrid between a quetzal bird and a rattlesnake.”
You all nod and look back at Quetzalcoatl. Your eyes roam the temple but you never catch sight of the shard.
“The shard is nowhere to be found, captains,” you whisper.
“That is clear, should we go on and ask Quetzalcoatl where it is?” Robin suggested.
“It’s risky, maybe someone should quietly look for it instead. We don’t know if he’s our friend or enemy,” Moss considered.
“I think recruits should have a word in this. What do you think, rookies? Should we go looking for it, or do we see if this god is someone to have a good chat with?” Re said.

When you have decided what to do, gather at least 3 campers with skills related to your choice. (e.g. 2 with investigation and 1 with sleath for looking) Comment here in the studio to see what happens!

Completed Myth Storyline Days

Alrighty, we've got a long description here today! First up, the conclusion to the challenge day! You all did great with that, and I'm happy (and slightly nervous) to present the ending, Myth: The Musical! (Thanks to Re for writing the dialogue at the end!! )

MOSS: Welcome to the first ever performance of Myth: The Musical! This-
QUETZALCOATL: WHO ISSS THISSS?
TIGER (deception): She's Moss! Leader of the…
JAY (deception): Traveling show!
QUETZALCOATL: Hmmmm…
MOSS: Anyway, we're here to perform for you, Quetzalcoatl! Hope you enjoy the show!

BADOWIE: *singing?* We found each other one nightttt,
NIGHTS: *also singing* Not many NiGhTs agooo
BADOWIE: *still singing* We joined forces toooo fighttt
NIGHTS: *singing some more* Some scary monsters sooo…
BADOWIE: *stilll singing* We've been traveling the maze,
NIGHTS: *guess what? singing!* Trying to find our way,
BADOWIE: *cheerfully singing* Before we get completely crazed!
GRETA: *gravely singing* Before we fade away…
SEE: *suddenly appears behind them, talking from now on* And we call ourselves The Mythians!
EVERYONE: The Mythians?
ROBIN: *flashing a thumbs up* I came up with that name!
SEE: *happily* The Mythians!
MOSS *walking in as she talks* Mythians, assemble!
EVERYONE: *crowds in front of Moss*
MOSS: We've got a task for you all today!
RE: We know our group is new, just formed yesterday!
ROBIN: A task! Yay!
MOSS: We're going to the Celtic Sector!
EVERYONE: *echoing nervously* The Celtic Sector?
RE: We have a tree to assemble!
ZAI: *talking very fast to Quetzalcoatl* So this tree is the Tree of the Heavens and it's got eleven (or less) pieces scattered around this heavenly worldly compression. To make a good impression we gotta gather the pieces, point out the god's misdeeds, and separate the streets before we proceed to fade away and not succeed!
MOSS, ROBIN and RE: *pointing to Zai* What he said!
AYID: *back to singing* And off we went to find the Celtic,
JAY: We found some scary people and dealt some justice that was so poetic
TIGER: That they became some sad ol' relics!
ECHO: To put it simply, we won!
JACKIE: But—we weren't done!
AURORA: *very serious, no longer singing* We found the Dagda, invaded his house and dove into his porridge. Before he returned, we had escaped with our first piece of the Tree of the Heavens.
AURORA: *singing again* But this time…
SEE: This timeee…
TIGER: This timeeee…
ECHO: This timeeeeeeee!
JAY: *very matter-of-fact, back to talking* We'd like your consent.
ECHO: And so the team, holding their dream of separating the multiversal stream, deemed it safe to move on to the next sector.
SEE: They got trapped in a river, a riveting adventure, no time to dither as they freed Moss (and Robin and Re along with her. Wasting no time, they began the climb, and I'm proud to tell you that we made it in time. You were right here, and with nothing to fear, we jumped right out, some songs appeared, and they floated right over to your lil' snakey ears.
MOSS: And all this is to say…
RE: We can only pray…
ROBIN: That you want to save the day…
GRETA: So could you maybe?
JAY: Possibly?
JACKIE: Hopefully?
MOSS: Give us your piece of the tree?
MOSS: *runs into a corner and hides from her horrendous lyrics*

“Give me your word, that you will get the tree together, whatever it costs.” Quetzalcoatl voiced.
“We give you our word,” the campers chorused.
Wind started blowing and the shard came towards you. You took it and gave it to the captains.

And on to our next challenge day! This will be run similarly to our last challenge day—just reply to my comment if you have a required spell/potion/weapon/song and have completed the challenge!

As you at last reach the end of the pathway, you come into a vast clearing, shining in the sunlight. The stone ground of the maze falls away, transitioning into soft grass. Far in the distance looms a glimmering city, but you notice a speck of something—or someone—quickly approaching.
You look worriedly between your cohort captains, but they seem not to be scared.
The speck nears until you can finally see its true form—a goddess, riding in a chariot.
“Are those…?” a warrior asks, pointing to the two beings pulling the chariot.
“Cats?” you finish with a snort of laughter.
“I think this is Freyja,” Moss says quickly, “goddess of love, fertility, and battle, as well as queen of Asgard. It might be best to not-”
Unfortunately, the goddess was close enough to hear the chuckling spreading across the group. “You shall not insult my cats,” she declares, climbing down from her seat and scratching the heads of the two felines with a practiced grace. “What is your business in Asgard?”
“Well…” Moss starts, “as you've probably noticed, the world isn't doing too great.”
Freyja nods regally as her cats dig their claws into the bottom of her dress, mewing pitifully in hopes of more pets.
“We just need to get up there, so that we can fix everything,” Re continues, pointing to Asgard, the city at the top of the hill.
“I wish you good luck,” Freyja says with a grimace. “The Jötnar have chosen the worst time to invade the city, it seems.”
“Wait, there are frost giants here? Now?” Robin questions her.
“They seem to have left the city,” Freyja tells you, pointing behind her to a group of hairy blue figures swarming down the hill. “You would like to visit Asgard? Prove yourselves worthy in a fight.”
She climbs back into her chariot, and the duo of cats pull her away.
“Well…” Moss tries to hold back a gulp. “I guess we're on our own.”

Two people with a speed potion must sprint to (quickly write) 200 words to reach the Jötnar. Then, someone with an earth spell must write 150 words to create a crack in the ground, and six people with swords, daggers, darts that are shot when their instrument is played, or instruments that can be used to bludgeon must each write 100 words to push a Jötunn in.

As the last Jötunn topples into the abyss, you dust your hands off and walk with your team to the other side of the crack in the ground. You make your way to Asgard, but as you enter the city's walls, you notice a distinct lack of voices coming from inside.
“Where is everyone?” asks Moss.
“Maybe they're hiding from the Jötnar?” Re's voice echoes through an empty chamber.
“We can find them later,” Robin says, taking a step forwards. “I think this is the place we're looking for.”
You peer behind Robin to see a vast clearing in the center of the city, a massive ash tree sprouting from the center.
To be continued…

After making your way through Asgard, you discovered a clearing in the center of the city. As you carefully step onto the grass, you notice the shadows covering it—a series of thick, dark lines shooting off in all directions, all originating from the same place, the center of the maze's clearing. Growing there is an ash tree—Yggdrasil, the World Tree, on which it is said that the realms are balanced. Its branches, which must have created the shadows, are too far in the sky to be visible, especially with the warm sunlight burning into your eyes as you look up. The tree's roots look thick and healthy at first glance, and you can see fragments of the darkness they stretch into below. The most eye-catching part of the tree to you, however, is the small shard nestled inside a hole in the tree, glimmering in the sunlight.
Ignoring the fragment of the Tree of the Heavens—at least for now—you inspect the tree more closely. The roots, which at first looked solid and strong, appear to have deep gouges in them, as if something has been using them as its chew toy. And, looming in Yggdrasil's branches just above the glass shard of the Tree of the Heavens, is a pair of gleaming red eyes. The creature seems not to notice you yet, so you take a moment to identify it. The eyes seem to be connected to a fuzzy body, topped with two tufted ears and attached to a long, slyly waving tail.
“Ratatoskr…” Moss says, eyes fixed warily on the creature. “He helps communications across Yggdrasil, but… let's just say his interpretations of some messages aren't very accurate.”
Re nods. “Should we try to grab the tree fragment without him noticing?”
“We could also try to talk with him; he might be able to help us out,” Robin adds.
Moss turns to you expectantly. “What do you all think? Talk about it among yourselves before making a plan.”

Will you talk to Ratatoskr, or try to steal the tree fragment from under his nose?
After you make a decision, gather at least six campers with skills related to your choice (e.g. two with persuasion and one with deception for the talking path) and comment in this studio to see what happens!

Nodding silently to the rest of your group, you start towards the tree. You focus on the ground, making sure to avoid even the tiniest pieces of leaf litter that could crunch under your feet. Carefully, you reach a trembling hand towards the tree fragment, fingers clasping around it, hand drawing back…
Ratatoskr glances down.
Quickly, you grab the piece, turning to run as the squirrel chitters madly, angling his head to the bottom and top of the tree and laces his words with deception.
Within just moments, Yggdrasil begins to shake, showers of its ash leaves flutter to the ground. The roar of a dragon floats up from below the tree's roots, and the screech of an eagle sounds from the upper branches.
“Run!” you shout to the rest of your group, though many are already sprinting for the edge of the clearing.
Finally, as the screeches fade into the distance, you stop.
“Did you get the piece?” Moss asks you.
You nod, handing her the fragment for safekeeping.

Completed Myth Storyline Days

Today's our fourth challenge day, written by the incredible Robin!! Good luck!

The winding path of the maze turns into a steep slope downward. You find yourself shivering as the brightness around you begins to fade, until you can barely see the captains in front of you. “Stay close!” Moss calls.

Suddenly, you hear noises and see a light up ahead. Re gestures for everyone to be quiet, her movements illuminated by dim firelight. Everyone creeps to the edge and peers around the wall. You're shocked to see a falcon-headed man with round glowing disk above his head, in a fierce battle with a huge cobra-like snake. Others appear to be helping him. The fight looks somewhat awkward; the fading, you realize, must be getting to them all. “That must be Ra, the sun god, and Apep,” Robin whispers.

Apep, the snake, recoils, and Ra nods. He steps into a boat and then passes out of sight. Some dust floats to your face— you try to avoid coughing, but you can't. Apep's head immediately turns toward where you and everyone else are standing. He hisses threateningly. “Uh oh,” Moss mutters.

One person with a Light Spell needs to sprint to 100 words to help everyone see. (complete!)
Two people with a Fire Spell or a song for insanity need to sprint to 200 words to shoot flames at Apep to distract him. (complete!)
Four people with a crossbow, darts shot when a note is played, or a boomerang need to write for 5 minutes to take down Apep from a distance. (4/4)

Conclusion :0
Apep hisses and retreats enough for you to pass through. You take a minute to catch your breath. “We're lucky we didn't have to fight him at full strength,” Robin remarks.
Re nods. “Not sure we would have come out of that alive!” she says with a bit of a laugh.
Moss steps forward and looks across the water that Ra's boat floated through to the next segment of the maze. “We'll be going back up!” she calls, relieved. “I think I see something in the distance…”

As you make your way upward, you realize it isn't getting much lighter. You can see a brightness in the far distance now; but a silhouette is outlined before you. After fighting Apep, you worry about what you may face here.
You approach a large scale with a single feather on one side. A jackal-headed man— “Anubis,” Re whispers— kneels behind it. A creature you've never seen before is positioned next to him; she appears to have a crocodile's head, forequarters of a lion, and hindquarters of a hippopotamus. It would be interesting if she didn't seem to be staring you down. There's a fork in the maze; straight, past Anubis, or to the left.
You can see that on the other side of Anubis, there is a smooth glass twig. But how can you get it?
Moss steps forward and Anubis looks up at her. “To pass, your heart must be lighter than Ma'at.” He gestures to the feather. “Else it will be devoured by Ammit.”

Moss nods. “We understand. But we don't want to pass. We just want your glass shard,” she explains.
“And who are you to ask for it?”
Robin and Re join her. “We are the beings who have been created to restore the worlds to their rightful places,” Robin says.
“Prove yourselves,” he replies, gesturing to the scale. “All of you.”
“Just a moment, please.” The captains turn back to everyone. “We can do as he says…” Moss begins.
“But we'll lose anyone whose heart is not lighter than the feather of truth unless we can deceive him,” Robin adds.
“Or we can distract him, and try to take the shard, but it won't be very easy,” Re admits. “So how much do you trust yourselves to have a worthy heart?”
When you have decided what to do, gather at least 6 campers with skills related to distracting or 3 campers with skills related to weighing. Moss turns back to Anubis and gives him a big smile. “Before we weigh hearts,” she says, “We would really like to show you a personalized version of our musical. We think you'll like it!”
Anubis snorts. “Fine.”
“We found each other one night…” one camper begins, and the musical is set into motion. As you sing and dance, you watch out of the corner of your eye as Badowie, See, Zura, and Ava creep around the side and carefully grab the shard from its position next to Anubis. Ava slips it into their pocket and they return to the crowd of performing campers. The extra verses added since the last show give the stealthy campers much more time, and they reach the group just as you sing the final lines. Thankfully, Anubis seems to have not noticed a thing.
Moss grins. “Thank you, thank you! We'll actually just go this way— no big deal. We appreciate you being a wonderful audience!” And all of you head down the path to the left.

As you enter a new area of the maze you hear water running. It must be a river. You follow the sound and find a long river in the middle of the bamboo forest. To continue your journey you must cross the river, but there is no bridge. You get closer to the water and it starts moving faster. You hear a big splash and a bright red dragon comes out of the water.
“Who are you, who wants to go through the river?” The dragon asks with a deep, serene voice.
“We are the cohorts who are trying to get the worlds back to normal.” Moss announces, “We need to cross this river to continue our journey.”
“Well, of course you do.” The dragon replies.
You were all clueless. The dragon didn’t look like a threat, yet there was something about it that made you nervous.
“Can you help us?” Re inquires “Crossing the river?”
“I can, but you must find a way for yourselves.” The dragon says “Look around you, what can you do to cross? A boat, a bridge, what more? You all have skills, abilities and tools you can use. Use them.”
You looked at your captains confused. What should you do?
“Dragons are wise creatures, we should follow their suggestion.” Robin says. “This dragon, it’s red. Symbolizing good fortune and luck. We are on the right path.”
“Let’s build a bridge then.” Re suggests “We have what is needed. Everyone, get to work!”

To build a bridge you’ll need: three people with a blade on the instrument, darts are shot when a note is played, sword or greataxe must write 150 to cut bamboo for the bridge. (2/3)
Two people with a water spell or earth spell must sprint to 100 words to slow the water current and attach the bridge to the ground. (2/2)

Next skill day (written by Re):
As you enter a new area of the maze you hear water running, it must be a river. You try to follow the sound and keep strolling until you get to a bamboo forest. You look around, admiring the tall bamboo, and how everything has a bright green tone. In the middle of the forest there is a man sitting on a big rock. He looked pretty normal, but you knew nothing was normal in the maze. You gave him another look and gasped, he had four eyes. But not just that. Next to him in a big rock carved with patterns you’ve never seen before, was the shard. Carved in the rock, along with the patterns.
“Who is he?” you ask confused
“No idea, must be the god of this pantheon.” Moss answers, “We need that shard, but it’s so close to him. There’s no way we get it without him noticing, not even doing it stealthily.”
“We can distract him, or even trick him.” Robin suggests
“Or we could persuade him, or intimidate him. He doesn’t seem much of a threat.” Re chuckles “So, what do you think guys?”

What’s the path you’ll take? Being persuasive or a trickster? Choose at least 5 people with skills related to your choice and comment it here!

Conclusion:
As you find you’re better at talking you decide to persuade him. You walk steadily towards the god, and introduce yourself.
“Hello, I’m (y/n). I’m here looking for something you might have,” you state calmly.
“Welcome, I am Cangjie, creator of the Chinese writing system. I see things in a different way from you, and I can see through your truths and lies,” he announces, “What is it you’re looking for, young one?”
“That,” you say, pointing at the shard. “We need it, we want to help the worlds.”
Cangjie closes his four eyes, looks at you and then at the shard. “I will need another reason to give this to you, speak.”
You explain how worlds are colliding, the gods disintegrating and people getting into this limbo state. He nods, takes the piece and hands it to you.
“Use it well, and be prepared. Things are not always as you humans see them.”

Turning a corner, you find yourself in a vast plain, yellowed grass stretching out for what seems like forever.
“How are we ever going to find the piece?” a bard scans the treeless horizon.
Moss sighs, wiping her brow with a corner of her cape. “I don't know,” she admits. “But, for the sake of the multiverse, we have to try.”
“That's… really dramatic, Moss,” Re laughs.
“It's true!” the mage insists, before stalking off towards the setting sun.
***
After walking for what feels like an hour, your feet are thoroughly sore and you're just about ready to take a break. Finally, you step into a bit of shade, but just as you flop to the ground, the shade vanishes! Looking up, you see an enormous bird, his yellow beak menacingly curving through the cloudless sky as he swoops down to his nest. The boughs of the tree bend under his weight.
“Who is that?” you whisper to Moss, stepping carefully behind a bard in hopes of shielding yourself from an attack.
“That's Owl,” she replies. “I'm afraid it isn't very good to be seeing him here.”
“Maybe we should get out of here!” Robin looked warily upwards, clenching her instrument.
“Why don't we play a trick on him?” Re suggested with a glint in her eyes. “Maybe he would tell us where the shard is!”

Pick one of these tricks and complete the challenges:
Push Owl out of his nest: One mage with an song for sleep and quietly climb his tree. Then, two recruits with heavy, blunt weapons and/or instruments must each write 120 words to push Owl out of his tree.

Burn down Owl's tree:
To make sure that Owl won't be harmed, a bard must first cast a song for healing on Owl by writing 100 words. Then, a mage with a fire spell must light an arrow, and a warrior with a crossbow must shoot it at the tree. The mage and warrior must each write 120 words to complete their actions.

Conclusion:

The bard's song rings out across the field, and you smile, the cheerful music easing your tiredness. As the bard hits a particularly loud note, you look fearfully upwards at the swaying tree and Owl's still-snoring form.
However, the bard's magic succeeds, and two recruits gather together. A mage whispers a spell, cape fluttering behind them as their hands burst into harmless (hopefully) flames. They reach for a warrior's crossbow, and only the briefest touch from their fingers sets the arrow's tip on fire. The brave warrior pulls their bow back, then shoots, the arrow landing true in the trunk of Owl's tree.
The branches quickly light up as well, the flames nearing Owl's shiny feathers.
He wakes with a start as the fire touches him, bulbous body sliding off of his branch.
Owl slips faster and faster before finally falling off, the branch swinging back and showering you with ash-covered leaves.
“Who dares destroy Owl's nest?!” a deep voice thunders from the ground.
You gulp. Well, at least the healing song seems to have worked.
Join the cohorts in standing in front of the big bird, weapons, spells, and instruments at the ready, you narrow your eyes as you face Owl.
“Where is the Tree of the Heavens?” Moss narrows her eyes at the bird.
Owl's yellow eyes grow wider, if that is possible. “Only the Great Spirit knows,” he whispers.
Before you can respond, Owl shoots into the air, wings carrying him away from the burning tree faster than you would have thought possible for his enormous body size.
“Well,” Moss says, “I guess we'll have to find the Spirit.”

“Finally!” you sigh, squinting at the tree in the distance.
Moss leads the group towards it, then plops down in the grass, completely out of breath. Fighting with a giant owl and then walking for hours took a lot out of all of you, but Moss promised it would be worth it.
You sit in a circle with your leaders, legs crossed. Your stomach rumbles.
“What are we doing?” a bard asks.
“We're going to find the shard in a dream,” she responds.
“How?”
“In this land, people believe that you can contact the gods through your dreams,” Moss replies, “but only if you have a problem or a question that needs answering. I believe that we can find the Great Spirit and ask them where to find the shard.”
You nod. “I am feeling pretty tired.” The sun is going down, its last rays stretching across the infinite grass.
You lie back, eyes fluttering closed.
***
Sitting up, you find yourself surrounded by your friends, in the same circle where you fell asleep. However, the rest of the recruits, as well as your leaders, are completely still.
“Hello?” you call out, uncertain voice echoing across the plain.
Two recruits open their eyes, blinking groggily. “What happened?”
“I don't know! I just woke up,” you respond.
You shake your cohort captains in an attempt to wake them up, but they don't move and their eyes seem to be glued shut. A breeze tickles your face.
“Hello?” you say again, and this time there is no reply.
“What should we do?” the other recruit asks you.

Will you search for the piece, or try to contact the Great Spirit?
After you make a decision, gather at least four campers with skills related to your choice (e.g. two with perception and one with persuasion to contact the spirit) and comment in this studio to see what happens!

Conclusion: “Is anyone there?” you call for a final time. Suddenly, you notice something. The breeze is blowing back and forth, switching directions every few moments and seeming to circle around you.
“Are you seeing this?” you ask your companions, explaining the strange wind.
They nod, each sticking a hand out to test the breeze. Even in this dreamland, your hands are growing more and more see-through, and by now you can almost feel the wind moving through them. “Do you think it's trying to lead us to something?”
“It could be…” you agree. The wind seems to jump at this, doubling its speed and force.
You walk with the wind to your back, turning when it does, for only a few minutes before it stops. The world is completely silent; only the sound of your breathing remains.
“Is it here?” you whisper, and the gale slowly circles around you once more.
You bend down, and though you don't see anything on the ground, there seems to be a hard object in your hand. Grabbing on to it, you pick it up, and as it leaves the grass, it begins to shine with the light of the Tree.
“I found it!” you call to your team, just as the world begins to fade to white.
***
You wake up along with the rest of your team, and you're glad to see that the fragment of the Tree of the Heavens is still clenched between your fingers. Whispering a silent thanks to the Great Spirit, you stand up again.

You’ve been walking for hours, and for some reason you haven’t entered the next area of the maze. You find it weird, as in the past, to this moment you would already find some kind of challenge. But as you keep going you notice that the walls have changed, and it feels like you are going somewhere specific. You get to the captains and see that they are chatting, while they look around. Their pace slows down, and everyone stops walking.
“Hear all of you!” Re says, “We’ve already entered the new area of the maze. It looks like we’re in a labyrinth inside the maze.”
“This means that we are going to find something in the middle of it,” Moss explains.
“We have an idea of what it could be, but we are not sure. So everyone, be cautious,” Robin says.
You nod and follow the captains. The walk was peaceful, but when you get closer to the center you hear noises. Huffs, something crashing, and grunting. The leaders stop, and signal you to get closer. You go with them and see that you’ve arrived. In the center of the labyrinth there is a creature. A creature with the body of a human and the head and tail of a bull.
“The minotaur.” Re states. “This is what I was afraid of.”
“If it’s not offensive, why did we even come here? If you knew that there was this. We should just continue,” you say.
“We can’t. We think that to get to the next part of the maze we have to defeat this thing,” Robin explains.
“Get your weapons, spells and instruments ready. We are fighting the minotaur,” Moss declares.

Two people with a mace, song for insanity must write 100 words to fight the minotaur. (2/2)
Two people with light spell, dagger or blade on the instrument must write 100 words to create a trap for the minotaur. (2/2)
One person with a speed potion must write 120 words to distract the minotaur. (2/1)

Conclusion:
You are sweating, it’s been a long fight, but you’ve won. The minotaur is unconscious. While you catch your breath, the ground starts trembling. The walls are moving, opening a new path. It looks like the captains were right, you had to defeat the minotaur if you wanted to continue through the maze.
“Everyone, get your things!” Moss says “We’re moving now!”

The path from the labyrinth to the next area is really long. It's a tiring walk, but you had to go through, you had already been more than 15 days in the maze. You keep walking and slowly your gaze gets lost in the sky. The sky was bright, the clouds were big, and birds were tweeting. You lower your head and your eyes stop in a big, snow capped mountain. The top is covered by clouds, and you know exactly what you are looking at.

“Mount Olympus.” You mutter surprised “How?”
“As we told you, the worlds are colliding. Soon Mount Olympus could crash with Quetzalcoatl’s temple, or something else.” Re comments
“We are not supposed to climb it, right?” You ask nervously
“I hope not.” Robin sighs, “That will take us days!”

You sigh deeply looking at how tall Mount Olympus is, there should be another way to get the next shard. Climbing that would take ages, and all of your energy. As you look up something or rather someone was flying down. You covered your eyes from the sun and saw it was someone, probably a god flying down from Mount Olympus.

“Captains! Look” You exclaim pointing towards the god. He gets closer to the ground, and introduces himself.
“Well hello there! You must be the brave cohorts who are trying to fix the multiverse!” He says, “I’m Hermes! The messenger of Mount Olympus.”
“You’ve heard of us?” Moss asks
“Yes I have, I wanna help!”
“How would you help us?” Robin wonders
“I’ll tell you where to find what you are looking for!” Hermes exclaims “The shard is up in Mount Olympus!”
“Seriously?!” You grunt
“Uh, would you give us a moment please.” Re says and you all gather in a circle.

“Do we trust him?” Re asks “He’s a trickster, you know that right?”
“Yeah, but I don’t think he wants his world to be destroyed. I believe he is actually helping us.” Moss says
“We are not the ones to make this decision guys. They are.” Robin says pointing at you and the others. “Not all of us can climb, if they want to and believe Hermes is telling the truth, it’s their choice.”

You have a difficult choice to make. Will you climb Mount Olympus to get to the shard? Or will you talk with Hermes to see if he’s lying and convince him to give you the shard? Gather at least five people with skills related to your choice. (Ex. Three with perception, one with deception and one with persuasion for the talking path.) Comment your choice below!

Conclusion:

“Hermes, we want to know if there is not another way to get the shard.” You say, “Climbing Mount Olympus seems too extreme, are you sure the shard is in there?”
“We’ll of course, I would not tell you it’s there if it wasn’t.” Hermes says with a smirk on his face, “I suggest you start climbing.”

You look at Hermes straight to his eyes, those trickster eyes. He smiles playfully, you know he is lying, the shard is not on Mount Olympus. But how do you get it?

“What do we do?” You ask your leaders, “He is lying, but how do we make him accept it? And we need him to give us the shard.”
“Talk to him, persuade him to give us the shard.” Robin says

You walk back towards Hermes and with help of other recruits you persuade him to give you the shard. He is hard to get, but at the end you manage to get the truth and the shard from him.

“And if you don’t give it to us, we’ll have to use methods we don’t want to use.” You say. The warriors take their weapons, the bards their instruments and the mages prepare their spells.
“Fine, the shard is not up there!” He says, you look at him and put your hand in front of you, “Ugh! Here it is.”

He hands you the shard and you give it to Moss.

“Good job! You just saved us a lot of time!” Moss congratulates you.

Next day:

As you continue to walk, you notice the fading in your hands. It's getting worse! If you don't find the middle soon, you might never get the multiverse back in order.

You come upon a large body of water, stretching into the distance. “We need to cross!” Moss calls.

“We don't know how deep this is,” Re begins uncertainly. “And there might be something in the water. After everything we've seen, we need to come up with a way to cross without going underwater at all…”

As if on cue, something comes out of the water. It's an unpleasant green color, and a scaly humanoid creature. Its hands and feet are webbed, and a turtle-like shell appears to be on its back. You can see water held upon its head. Suddenly, more emerge. “Kappas,” Robin whispers. “Okay, we definitely can't go in the water. Guess it's time to fight!”

“Wait!” Moss exclaims. “If we can just get them to spill the water on their heads, we can get across!”

Two people with swords, maces, daggers, greataxes, or blades on the instrument must write for five minutes to hold off the kappas and distract them. (2/2)
Two people with an Invisibility Potion or instruments that can be used to bludgeon must write 150 words to knock the water from the kappas' heads. (2/2)
Everyone who participates must also write an additional 200 words to cross the water. (4/4)

Suddenly it seems to darken around you. You look forward and find yourself at the front of a cave. “We don't need to enter,” Robin says with a shudder. “There's still a path we can take to go around.”
You see something glint inside the cave and gasp. “We can't just go around!” you exclaim. “There's a shard in there!”
The others crowd around you, murmuring in agreement. Moss steps in front of everyone. “We need the shard, but we need to be careful,” she says with a sigh. “Especially after the Kappas. We need to know what's in there.”
A camper goes closer and peeks inside. “There's someone. Just one person. I don't see anything else,” they say as they turn back to the group.
“Oh!” Re exclaims, her eyes lighting up. “It must be Amaterasu! So that's why the light got dimmer. But legend says that evil spirits appeared… that means we have to hurry or we'll have more to deal with.”
“Amaterasu?” Moss calls into the cave, and the figure inside looks up. “We need the piece of glass you have. The one that looks like a twig, next to you. It's really important.” She trails off as the figure looks away.
Robin turns back to all of the campers. “There's no way we can convince her from out here.”
Re nods. “So we have a couple options. We can go inside and talk to her, which could be dangerous if there's something else inside; or we can do something out here to get her to come out, but that could be a long shot.”
“The Myth Musical!” Robin exclaims.
What do you choose: going inside the cave to convince her, or performing Myth Musical outside the cave so that she comes out? When you've made a decision, you'll need at least five campers with skills related to your choice.

Conclusion:

You begin the musical. “We found each other one night…” sings one camper, and you're back to performing Moss's masterpiece. With each lyric, you glance at the entrance of the cave. Nothing happens. But then, just as you sing the final note, the air lightens. A face emerges from the cave, and you internally do a fist pump. The plan worked! You relax from your ending pose and all the campers gather in a clump behind the captains.
“Hello, Amaterasu,” Moss says awkwardly. “Um, so, about the shard—”
Amaterasu studies all of you. “Are you the ones who have come to restore peace and order to the worlds?” she asks, and you shrink back under her powerful gaze.
“We are,” Robin replies, exhaling through their teeth.
She holds out an upturned fist and unfurls her fingers to reveal a small glass shard. Moss hesitantly takes it. “Thank you,” she grins.
Amaterasu nods. “Good luck. You are very close.”
