Four things:

1. Great job!
2. How do you make your retro instruments because I NEED THEM NOW
3. At 40, make it so all four of the solo notes have no accompaniment. With the first having that last chord, it feels off, as the suprise works better if it starts on a downbeat.
4. Chord progression reminds me of the first thing i ever made on beepbox. it was this, but a different instrument.

1. Thanks!
2. I just use chip wave with different waves.
1/8 pulse and 1/4 pulse work good for the main melody, and also for chords.
Electric Guitar works good for a lower bassline. It also works on a higher octave, which can go with the melody really well (I used that in the song on bars 22-25, 30-34, and 39-50.)
Double pulse AND double saw work really well for chords, especially on a higher octave.
I have used the “organ” wave only a few times, but both times it sounded really good.
In my opinion, they sound a lot better if you put the chord type to “arpeggio”, because it makes it sound more like a retro game. However, it still sounds good with other chord types. That's just the one I prefer.
It also helps to put some vibrato on the instruments, I usually prefer delayed.
Here are some of the instruments
3. Thanks for the advice! I'll change it and see if I like how it sounds.
4. Oh yeah, they do sound similar!

Anyways, sorry for yapping about the instruments lol

Pretty good. I would recommend using some custom instruments.
Also, on the right side of the screen, there is something that says “scale”. The default is “easy ”, which this song was made on, but i would recommend setting it to “expert” so you can place more notes

id set it to a scale, it's better and sound less random

Thank you for your feedback. I do change the scale most of the time but I wanted to make a song in "easy :)" this time.

I sometimes set it to a scale, sometimes to expert. I feel like I use accidentals more than most people so I often find scales annoying without “Place Notes Out of Scale” on. For me, I tend to have the sound of a specific mode or scale in my head, even if I have it on expert.
