Identifying sprite local variables
As the cloud variables are now visibles with the ☁ sign, it would be very usefull to distinguish also global and local variables
If you click on :
Tell me what you think about it
If you click on :
show variable [ v]You will see it because of the name of the sprite, but on a big project with a lot of variables and sprites, it could be so much easier to see all of them in the left panel of the editor :
(☁ score)
(☁ other cloud var)
(foo)
(bar)
(■ sprite var)
(■ i)
Tell me what you think about it

Identifying sprite local variables
I always sort my variables by placing an underscore before the names of global variables to bump them to the top. No support.

Identifying sprite local variables
Semi support because I don't really find myself bumping into a problem which involves figuring out if a variable is local or not but it would be a nice feature.

I support because of the above words. Because you're a good developer… but scratch is for educational use, and many children/noobies don't have this reflex

In response to the op, having random symbols in the variable names to distinguish local and global variables could ironically confuse new scratchers as well. Even if you were to include the cloud variables as an example, only scratchers can use them anyway, and by that time a scratcher probably wouldn’t have trouble with local and global variables.
No support.

Identifying sprite local variables
I agree to the following statement. How about splitting off Global and For This Sprite Only vars/lists like the TurboWarp addon “data category tweaks?” In response to the op, having random symbols in the variable names to distinguish local and global variables could ironically confuse new scratchers as well. Even if you were to include the cloud variables as an example, only scratchers can use them anyway, and by that time a scratcher probably wouldn’t have trouble with local and global variables.

don't tell me “turn of your extensions” this is turbowarp

What if the context menu for variables showed an “info…” option, that would make a popup showing whether the variable was cloud, local, and other information about the variable? (I know it's a wild and unlikely idea..)
