I just watched the first three episodes of Bakemonogatari.

I remember being kinda confused/lost by the first episode when I was twelve. Probably because Bakemonogatari is not for twelve-year-olds. I'm enjoying it much more now.

(I have a lot of weird memories of starting anime when I was too young. I started Steins;Gate back when it was first simulcasting - so I was nine/almost ten - but turned it off at the first bloody scene halfway through episode 1.)

here's my current anime guide

god-tier:
flcl
the medium's masterpiece, there is not a better anime in existence
cowboy beepboop
a masterful fusion of genres, a classic
baccano!
real fun mafia story with loads of characters and non-linear order
gurren lagann
the most awesome show ever, will never be topped
the end of evangelion
the brilliantly disturbing conclusion to the classic series, a masterpiece in it's own right
most of the studio ghibli output
doesn't really need explaining
anything by satoshi kon
one of japan's best directors, all his films are great. paranoia agent is also fantastic
AKIRA
a masterpiece of pure animation
ping pong the anime
best anime to come out in recent years

great-tier:
one punch man
real fun superhero parody, everyone knows this one
serial experiments lain
great mindscrew
trigun
classic action series
mushi-shi
calming and comfy show about sprits and stuff
osomatsu san
wacky adventures of six brothers, actually funny
death parade
great concept, good show
haibane renmei
a calming but depressing show, very good
durarararararararararararararararara
similar to baccano but not as good
samurai champloo
best soundtrack out of any anime ever, the actual show is pretty good though it's too similar to bebop
the tatami galaxy
fascinating show, the characters talk way too fast though
neon genesis evangelion
a classic
teknolyze
perhaps the most depressing anime ever
ghost in the shell
another classic
jojo's
super fun, you all know this one
berserk
great but flawed in most adaptations. anime is great for the most part but it has a ehh first episode and no ending. manga is the best but it still has 8 years of the boat. movies are good but there's too much material and it's all heavily compressed. 2016 is alright in terms of the actual story/writing but that animation
occultic;nine
crazy wacky storyline with loads of characters and subplots (note: I've only started watching this today and I haven't finished it yet, but I've liked the first four episodes enough to put it on here)

good-tier
redline
some of the best animation ever set to some of the most mediocre storytelling ever
welcome to the nhk
a show about you
steins;gate
pretty good time travel story though the beginning is very slow and it turns into a dating sim near the end. movie sucks.
higurashi
good horror anime, bad animation
madoka magica
evangelion: magical girl edition
summer wars
cliched but great
fate/zero
10/10 animation, plot is okay
haruhi suzumiya
fun wacky comedy, movie is pretty good

that's all for now, might add some more stuff if anything more comes to me
I friend love you!!! thank you!

I've become part of the trash fanbase for Miss Kobayashi this season. It's such a nice, fluffy, yuri-filled show.

Nisemonogatari isn't as solid as Bake unfortunately. In three episodes not much has happened. It's still a good show with great dialogue and characters, but…let's get to the supernatural fun!

Whether you like Nisemonogatari or not depends on how much you cared about the supernatural stuff and how much you cared about the dialogue. From what I remember it's pretty much just conversations with the occasional blatant fanservice scenes, with some of the highest animation quality you can get from a TV anime. There's only a little bit of the supernatural stuff. Personally I really like it but it might not be for you.

Some of the strongest/most memorable parts of Bake for me involved the dialogue and Araragi's relationships, but I don't know if I want it to carry the whole show. I might end up watching Kizu after Nise; I was advised that it was okay to do so, and that's the part of the story I'm really interested in. I still plan on watching the entire Monogatari franchise though.
