It depends on the anime. I typically do subs, but with some animes like Black Clover, I simply cannot watch it in the sub. It's so annoying.

I will say though, some dubs are really, really good. Think about Death Note's sub, or Attack on Titan's, or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood's. Although I usually watch subs, I only watched FMAB in the dub because it was just so good.

I will say, though, that words have been scientifically proven to not resonate as much with you if they're spoken in another language, even if you understand what they mean.

For example, if someone says “I HATE YOU!” in English, that will mean a lot more to the English audience than if you saw “あなたが嫌い​​です” with subtitles.

I watched a scene a few weeks ago in One Piece where two of the main characters were fighting each other and crying, and I watched it in the dub. And in my opinion, it's a lot sadder in the dub for me than in the sub.

Usually subs, although I've seen a few cases where the dub is just as good (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, for example).

There's also the Ghost Stories dub which is god tier, but that's low-hanging fruit lol

Toward the beginning of the show, Giorno mentions he doesn't like repeating things. Looking at a picture of Dio, he didn't want to turn out like his father and repeat his father's legacy.

However, after awakening his Stand ability, he can only use rush attacks by saying, “muda” repeatedly. With no other choice, Giorno uses his attacks while repeatedly saying “muda”.

Over time, he really gets used to repeating things as he repeatedly discusses his, Giorno Giovanna's, dream. He ended up getting so caught up in repeating things that he repeated the same rush for seven pages straight.

After Polnareff uses the arrow to make his Stand into Silver Chariot Requiem, Giorno repeats what Polnareff did, making his Stand into Golden Experience Requiem. Giorno uses his ability to make Diavolo repeat his death forever, then completely reorganizes the mafia.

That's not to mention, after the world gets reset a bunch of times, Giorno's life repeats over and over.

So far, the only anime I've finished so far is Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit.
I highly recommend all of them.

As a Tokyo Ghoul fan: read the manga. The anime isn't a very good adaptation, and its quality drops off after season 1.

Definitely listen to the soundtrack, though.

Subs forever, then you can get OG voice actors, more accurate translations, and learn some Japanese phrases.
