Have you used a thread before that got locked before you could make another reply, and you want to be able to post just one more reply? If so, you've come to the right place. Here, you can post just one more reply to a locked thread. However, there are some rules you need to follow.

Rules
  1. You may make only one direct reply for each locked thread. However, you can make replies to direct replies.
  2. You are not allowed to revive locked threads with this topic.
  3. Your post must have this format:
Link to locked thread

Your new reply to the locked thread

Notes
  • This topic might be in the wrong forum, but I don't think there is a right forum for this topic.
  • I don't think this topic is rule-breaking, since it allows you to post only a single reply to a locked thread.
  • For some reason, people aren't understanding how to use this topic. Why?

I don't think that topic should have been locked. It obviously did not fit the suggestions forum, but it was still moved there. Then it was locked for not being a suggestion. Why was it even moved there in the first place? Though I do agree with Paddle that it would make more sense if there was an XF studio instead.

Exactly. You find a locked thread and you use this topic to write a reply to it.

But, how do you comment on a locked thread.

You write your reply to the locked thread, but instead of posting it there (which is impossible) you post it here. You also add a link to the locked thread in your post. You are allowed to make only one reply for each locked thread.

Although I understand why the above topic was locked, I do not entirely agree with it being locked. The topic was just another innocent question, and similar questions like “Who are the most followed users on Scratch?” are not locked.

Also, I was surprised why I wasn't on one of those lists in replies. Am I not famous on the forums, with 500+ posts?

Controversy. The topic is opinion-based, meaning bias is unavoidable. “Who are the most followed users” are fact-based, you cannot twist the fact that someone has X amount of followers.

Also, I was surprised why I wasn't on one of those lists in replies. Am I not famous on the forums, with 500+ posts?
Most of the people on those lists have around 2000 to 5000 posts. From what I've seen, you appear to be just as active as I am, which means you're not even close to getting on such a list.

I was it earlier than the current state it's in, and it looked like a very old thread with most of the replies “deleted” by the users who'd posted on it (AKA the “nothing is permanent” post)- someone had then necroposted it adding nothing to the discussion which seems to have resulted in all but one “deleted” post being deleted, giving it an odd, eerie vibe.

It's unfortunate that the above topic was locked, since it was a good suggestion.

So it was finally locked. I was surprised that the topic was not forbidden and it could have lived on, according to Paddle2See. The topic would not have been locked if its users, which were mostly experienced, did not spam and chat so much. I find it very odd that Scratchers with thousands of posts and years worth of experience would spam so much, no offence meant.

Yeah, I honestly don't understand how that thread stayed up, but I understand the source of the spam. All of the particularly “active and helpful” users (AKA pretty much everyone on that thread) are always adhering to the rules a lot more than most users and are typically doing it every day, even when dealing with irritating or rude scratchers. The forum provided an opportunity for release from this constant upholding of standards, initially as a means of parody but eventually just as an off topic spam area, and the presence of so many other scratchers that they interact with often made it more inviting- it was an opportunity to goof off with people you kind of consider friends, so even though you knew it likely wouldn't last and could result in an alert I think a lot of us were willing to risk that for the fun.
Maybe I'm overthinking it, but that's how I felt it was for me. There's no real proper “place” where all of us “helpful users” actually chill together so we just took the opportunity.

So the revival was locked as well. And this time the users were not spamming or chatting. The revival was locked because it was too broad, and could lead to the same problems as the original topic. The revival's revival might still have a chance if it is more focused. If that revival fails then a studio should be made.
