Scratch 3.0 Technical Discussion
Yeah, I know that iOS apps historically weren't allowed to interpret code so instead of having a full rendering engine or JS interpreter the iOS versions of Chrome/Firefox were just wrappers around the OS's native webview with some fancy skinning and tab syncing. The “no interpreters” rule was also part of the reason there were no versions of Scratch on the app store for a while iirc. I believe they've toned it down with that rule (there are versions of Scratch on the app store as well as some competitors) but I wouldn't be surprised if web browsers still can't have their own rendering engine or JS enginePreview FAQ, but we should probably be explicit about Android OS version. We have been testing with version 6+.Why should it matter as long as you have an up-to-date browser? Good question. Currently we say “Mobile Chrome 62+” in the
On both Android and iOS most browsers (including Chrome, Firefox, and Safari) make heavy use of the underlying Operating System's APIs. This seems pretty weird (e.g. Chrome on iOS is essentially just WebKit with a different interface!) but it means that both the OS version and the application version are relevant for compatibility / testing. I hope that helps clarify!

Now here's hoping they add an option to hide the share button in the editor… It's rediculous how many times I've accidently shared a project when trying to see the project page New placeholders!

Lol. I just came here after going through my old activities on Scratch.
I used to post a lot on the old Scratch 3.0 thread (in it's early-ish pages), and was directed back here, after seeing that the conversation has moved. I haven't been catching up with 3.0 development for a long time, and I'm getting back up-to-date.

Where would the “save now” button be in the new toolbar? These designs don't have a save button; perhaps they would be only available in the file menu/a keyboard shortcut

I love the new “embedded” style of tutorials! Maybe the “pips-only” style can be good after you spent some time with the onboarding style. On my PC they are a bit slow, but maybe I just have to close a few windowsThey have added a new tutorial (basic) branch!Others:

Also, the video sensing extension may be coming in the near future!
As you can see, it does not have the “Coming Soon” label and it is highlighted when the mouse pointer hovers over it (My Chromebook won't let the mouse pointer show in the screenshot xD).
However, you can't actually use the extension yet because if you click it, the extension doesn't show.
See it
