Say 100 years time, what will Scratch be like?

Let’s just say 100 years pass since Scratch was first set up, what *might* Scratch be like? Would it still exist even? If so, why would it no longer exist? Would it of moved to a new domain, or stop updating and eventually stop working?

Please no silly answers like “We don’t know” or “Only time can tell” or “Scratch will never be deleted”. I don’t want definite answers. Of course, we have no idea what it’ll be like. Please appropriate answers like “Scratch may ___” or “Scratch may not ___”.

Scratch will probably introduce more advanced topics as the complexity of programs increase. These new ideas, which seem advanced now, will probably be considered more basic concepts.

maybe computers may not work anymore, so Scratch may become an Ipad and an Iphone game, and if we are lucky, there can be a Scratch Robot that can be coded with an Ipad. Maybe Scratch may have toys before 100 years even passes, like a Scratch Cat doll or Scratch Block puzzles. i imagine them making a toy where you download an app called ScratchPuzzles (i want it to be free or $0.99) then you can buy Scratch Block puzzles. they are like building blocks that can connect to one another with magnets. ( they would be 3D and the same colors as the blocks we have now) there would be 1,000 block magnet in one box which i want it to cost $34.00 or less. you would download the app, pair the Ipad with the blocks, then instead of dragging blocks on the screen, you can pick up blocks and connect them to one another. the project display will be on the Ipad and when you hit the green ready button on the Ipad, it would sensor the blocks and the sprite would do it! Then there would be challenges and contests with others around the world. Scratch should really look into this.
In 100 years, I hope everyone can stop impersonating x__0 and other people and start listening and helping one another, and not focusing on fame. Cause that is what Scratch isn't about. It is about Imaging, Programming and Sharing.

I doubt it will exist. Technology has been progressing ridiculously rapidly recently, and even technology from as short as 5 or 10 years ago is now super outdated. Even if scratch does manage to keep up and evolve with the new technologies, it'll likely be almost unrecognizable as technology becomes more and more a focus of our lives.

same
it’ll probably be so different — you can convert it into scripts on their website, make your own blocks easily, have a load of mods ’n’ stuff

Yeah, the technology in 100 years would likely be incredibly different. Better or worse.

However, in a shorter time frame. Scratch will likely have many different changes that make it better and easier to use while adding lots of interesting new features, and hopefully it will also continue to grow more popular. https://scratch.mit.edu/statistics/

Truth is, we can't predict the future - and that's the same with technology.
In 100 years, technology might become really advanced, however, and we may even learn how to do things such as downloading food someday. But nobody can guarantee anything about the future for sure.
Technology is always changing and I'm sure Scratch is too, but nobody really knows what ways either will change in, or when we'll be able to invent things such as teleportation or time travel.

Because tech is advancing, It may connect with a system that connects to the brain.

In one hundred years, there will be no need for Scratch. The way the world is advancing, everybody will either be mindless drones with their faces in front a computer screen, or there will be no Earth.
This topic just took a dark turn.

Scratch in 100 years (if it's even around then) will probably have progressed to something unrecognizable, given how technology evolves exponentially.

In a century, the capabilities of technology will be vast compared to the 21st century. There probably won't be any computers or even mobile devices, and it's possible that Scratch will run on different technology that we can only imagine today. Of course, we can't predict the future, and there's always the possibility that in 100 years the world will be rendered uninhabitable by nuclear radiation and all life will die out (in that wonderful scenario, Scratch will of course no longer exist).

Maybe 4D projects we can transfer to the new world? Who knows what's for the future?!

Technology might be very advanced in the future; who knows? Maybe there wouldn't be such thing as computers anymore in the future.

bitmap and vector would probably be updated to work better, projects would be working way better and faster, coding would get easier so that anyone could make a Zelda game in 2 or 3 hours, it would be easier to navigate things, but creating an account would probably be WAY harder because of better tech and better hacking…, but depending on what we get in the future we will probably even get VR and hologram projects so it can only get better

There still will be, just in a different form: Quantum computing.

as for if Scratch will still exist in the future, I doubt it. As many others have said, technology is advancing at an awesome pace and Scratch will soon become outdated and most likely cease to exist.

Scratch most likely won't exist, as time passes more advance and basic coding languages are made. Within 100 years of time, Scratch may no longer serve a purpose or teach anything like realistic code syntax,
But also, Scratch could evolve into a more powerful form of coding with more capabilities as our modern coding world advances, depends on MIT I suppose and how quickly we grow.

How can you know for sure? No one know if there will be computers in the future.

as I said, Quantum computing is a thing in development and most likely will be for many years, because of its sheer power.
