Please note this server issue before you create any topics about glitched and reverted thumbnails, profile icon uploading issues, and other problems with icons stored on the scratch servers.

Since the downtime, there appears to be a glitch with thumbnails, causing them to display an earlier version (including the default stage with the scratch cat). Please don't make a new topic about it, there is currently no known fix, except just trying to save it again. It tends to fail most of the time but thumbnails seem to usually save properly after a few tries.
This includes profile avatars not changing after several hours or gifs freezing on the first frame.

Here's the backstory of how this arose.

Scratch has experienced a lot of database lag the last few days. Some things have taken half an hour to update for some users, majority of it being thumbnails. There seems to be a problem with project thumbnails reverting to previous versions, including the initial version with the scratch cat in the center of a white stage.

Honestly I'm not sure what's going on, but there is a variety of other problems including cloud data not working at all, downtime, slow response times, high error rates, mostly happening when the user initiates an action that saves a new version of a thumbnail on the server. It looks like there's an issue with the internal file system of the scratch website.

Help!!! When I see projects in the My Stuff page, why is it showing an unfinished project thumbnail glitch?, and why is it showing a profile pic glitch? Could someone help us fix the glitch? After you fix the glitch, I'll be happy to see the finished project thumbnails.

The only “fix” at this point is to spam save the project, the thumbnail seem to save properly after a few tries.

update: there seems to be a similar issue with profile pictures.

Well, when I try to change to a different profile, it shows the same profile or just a blank one… <3 Please help.

On remix trees, all thumbnails just appear completely blank. Is this part of the same glitch?

Yes, the tumbnail gifs aren't working

It seems that me, and a lot of other Scratchers, are experiencing glitches with our profile thumbnails. Specifically when it comes to .GIF's. Instead of a .GIF, it's just a still image. Can someone help with this issue, please?-

Just an idea to improve this sticky. Write besides those links what the topic is about so people know what to expect.

Help!!! I am very stuck with one of the studios I curate has a blank picture showing a gray cat in the rectangle, but why is one of my projects feature early versions, but when I see add projects while in a studio I curate, I see a correct picture. Could somebody help me with that glitch I encounter?

All of my new thumbnails have been glitching, but not icons. However, when I put a project as my featured project, the thumbnail came back.

EDIT: After posting that, my icon froze up too….
