More Post Counts
Before commenting “no support” please read this WHOLE post, many arguments have already been countered.
This is a pretty simple suggestion, but I think it could be nice to add.
Currently, when you post something on the forums it shows your username, logo, rank, and post count. Scratch will either show 1-100 post(s), 100+ posts, 500+ posts, or 1000+ posts.
I think it could be nice if the ST added 5000+ posts, and 10000+ posts or even just changed it to show your exact number of posts.
New post counts could be really motivating. When I was at about 900 posts, I really wanted to get to 1000, so I went to the New Scratcher's forum and helped out a ton of people who were looking for it. It's also just a fun way to see how far you've come on the Scratch forums. Having a larger post count indicates more experience on the forums, so newer users see you as someone experienced and dedicated.
FAQ/Common Arguments:
Q: Wouldn't this just cause unneeded competition?
A: There is no way to be certain, but it probably wouldn't. With the current post counts (the ones listed above), there is practically no competition (if there is some competition someone please link me to it), so adding more probably wouldn't change that. For more about competition, see the tenth suggestion here.
Q: If this is added, people will just spam and make unconstructive posts to get a higher post count, right?
A: Yes, but there is no way someone can spam 1000 (or even just 100) posts without getting caught and reported. If someone is doing this, other Scratchers will report them. If Scratchers really want to get a higher post count, they will look up to people who do have a higher post count. And (as MathlyCat has said) won't they see that people with a higher post count don't make posts like that? Won't they try to post like us? Also, most of the spam probably from people trying to get a higher post count, but inexperienced users.
Final Notes:
If, after reading this, you still do not support, here is an alternate proposal:

My compromise suggestion is to make available the exact number of posts a Scratcher has written, but only provide it to them. This would allow prolific Scratchers to set goals for themselves, without any of the incentives for spam.

I never really knew why the forums should even show your post count; having more or less posts than another person doesn't really make a person more “experienced” in the forums or doesn't really affect their ego. It's a fun little thing though, I can't even believe I have over a thousand posts myself

This would be amazing! I don't really see this as being something that's going to cause competition, and in my opinion, it's kinda motivating. I'm not saying that I post just to add to my count, because I don't, I like helping people waaay more. I'm just saying that it's fun knowing that every post you makes counts towards your post marker. I feel so lost now that I've hit 1000. I'm still posting and I still want to help, I just keep wondering what the goal is now. XP

Sorry, but I don't support your suggestion. Scratch should emphasize post quality, not quantity. So many Scratchers leave unconstructive posts because the post count is incentivized.

Never got to help anyone in the forums at all. xD
(I guess I actually am bad at this. xD)

Alright, I see what you mean. Although with the existing numbers there is practically no competition. Semi-support, I like this idea but it would cause extra competition.

Yes, but there are post counts already. Why not just add more to make it better? Sorry, but I don't support your suggestion. Scratch should emphasize post quality, not quantity. So many Scratchers leave unconstructive posts because the post count is incentivized.

I have an alternative solution:
P(P(P(n))), where P(n) is the nth item in the list of primes::
Powers of 2
Base 2
Fibonacci
XKCD volume 0 a.k.a skewed binary (hearts out if you already know it)
Note, this is a (partially) serious post. Scratch would be slightly more interesting this way.

That actually could be kind of interesting but I don't really see how it would benefit Scratch more then the existing post counts do. It could be fun though.
Also, I knew about all of those.

I think I'd be a 4096+, but I'm close to 8,192. Powers of 2 post count would be cool
I'd be at 8,192+ posts.
But I do think more ranks would be good so I can show off my 10k+ posts.

There REALLY major issue for your suggestion, quality posts are much better than quantity, adding this feature will make scratch forum look like for quantity posts. Scratchers leaves unconstructive posts because they are trying to beat the post count from someone else. This major issue cannot be fixed.
Your suggestion is a nice idea but this may cause huge problems.

I'm now officially quit the suggestion forum because it has too many big problems and there so many unconstructive/quantity posts such “Support” or “No support”, and worse, i got so many posts really quickly, people need to learn how to be constructive and not focusing on post count. It doesn't matter how many posts you have. Constructivity and respectfulility does. Other forums than Suggestion, i'm staying and i'm going to keep posting in other forums.

Because we want scratchers to make quality posts instead posting unnecessary things to beat posts count from someone else. In suggestion forum, i want scratchers to post constructively in suggestion forum and not posting “Support” or “No support” bunch of times just to beat posts count from someone else. Umm… yes, if the post count was removed then i'm completely fine with that, so there no scratchers bragging with other.

Currently, I don't think there are any Scratcher's that are “bragging” to others about their post count. What I've seen is people being being motivated and inspired to get a higher post count so they try and help out as much as possible. Umm… yes, if the post count was removed then i'm completely fine with that, so there no scratchers bragging with other.
-FutureBlack
Anyways, if the post count isn't removed (as I don't think it is going to be), would you rather keep the current numbers or add more?
