The Official Scratch Helper Mentoring Committee APPLICATION THREAD

Position Wanted: Mentor
Username: Ilikelegos (Alternate account: coollegoguy.)
Time on Scratch: 2 years, 5 months.
Best Project: This list-based platformer engine.
Scratch Wiki Editor: No.
Activity Levels: 8.5
Activity Levels in Forum: π%
Time you can dedicate to Scratch Mentoring Committee: Probably 15-45 minutes a day. (On the days I'm on.)
SDS Helper?: No.
Scratch Helper: No.
Extra Credentials: Been featured twice, 500 followers (Two of which being ST.), intellectual sort… (Humorous maybe?)
I'm good at explaining things, and being understanding with people, I have been bullied on Scratch twice, and think that I responded to many rude comments well. Already helped a few people on scratch, such as Exotic2. Knows several other programming languages.
(Good with {[ scratchblocks v] :: extension cap} :: grey ring)
Why I want to be in the scratch mentoring committee?
I've never done anything I felt was very helpful to many people, and feel that I could give a lot of advice to many people if I did this.

What I can contribute to the Scratch Mentoring Committee?
I'm very good with making projects that deal with lots of information at once, which is good for cloud projects, and am able to think a project through before starting. I am good at organizing things and being efficient, which may be helpful in mentoring new scratchers.

How do my credentials show my expertise?
Umm… they probably do somehow…

Hi! I'm a computer science student who learned coding on Scratch!

Not yet. Brains needs to take a look at your application. Problem is, we haven't been too active, so I don't think he checks the thread that often.

Scratch Helper Mentoring Application Thread

The Scratch Mentoring Committee is dedicated to helping Scratchers. We help Scratchers by teaching them coding and tricks to navigating the Scratch Website. We show them where many tools and resources are available for them to use. We try to do 1 on 1 comprehensive instruction for coding and we try our best to answer any question tossed our way.

The Scratch Mentoring Committee is sponsored by the Scratch Helpers, the Scratch Mentors, the Scratch Welcoming Committee, and even some ST Members.

“Sounds like a great idea” scmb1*

“I think it is great that Scratchers help Scratchers - without the help being coordinated by the Scratch Team. This tells us a lot about what kind of community Scratch is, and this is what makes us special.” LiFayTheGoblin*

“Wow! Great Studio ;D” CrazyNimbus

Would you like to help out in this community-sponsored program?

Why I want to be in the scratch mentoring committee?

I am committed to helping all sorts of scratchers alike! I've worked a lot in the welcoming committee and I've helped all sorts of scratchers with my shop. I give many New Scratchers signatures and I'd like a chance to teach my knowledge to newer scratchers
