After last year's mildly successful cheesy competition, I'm returning to host another batch of hopefully poorly-made songs in the style of Eurovision!

After the hard deadline, you will still be able to submit, but voting will begin on Monday (2015-06-08) regardless of whether all entries are in or not. So if you haven't been able to manage submitting with deadline, then you'll be okay, but you may miss votes as you'll be added to the vote later.

I haven't really been on Scratch recently so I have no idea if any of you lot are still here. EDIT: you are! But since the music thread is still on the first page, there must still be some musicians around willing to sacrifice their talents in the name of comedy.

There was going to be a theme, but since Eurovision is THIS WEEKEND (where does the time go?) I thought I'd better make the thread quickly.

So yes, if you don't know how it works, then feel free to read last year's thread and maybe listen to the entries. But basically you try and make a poor/cheesy song in the style of the Eurovision Song Contest (which for the first time includes Australia! Because that's totally Europe!) and then submit whatever you come up with. Then we all listen to them, and vote while our ears recover. And maybe we remix the winning track.

technoboy10's (you still here?) site from last year should sum it up pretty well.

Theme

This year we'll have it slightly structured with a theme! Let's go for something general but fun.
Suggest and vote for themes here.
The theme will hopefully be decided by Saturday (2015-05-23) which is when the real Eurovision Song Contest happens.

What Should I Submit?

I'd say it's a bit more open than that, but that's the general idea.

Entering

• I am now accepting entries.
  
• Give me a link to your song in any (preferably readable, although if you want to give me a .??? and have me guess what it is, that's sorta okay) format.
  
• Also give me the title of your song, the artist you want to be presented as (can be comedic), and your nationality.
  
• No rules as to what you can submit, except that it must be audio and it must be suitable for Scratch.
  
• Your song will be released on my website under a Creative Commons license, with the artist name you gave me. Make sure you're okay with that, although you can aim to have a song so bad you wouldn't mind putting it in the public domain.
  
• One song per artist, please. Like veggieman's compilation, you can make more songs if you collaborate, but only one set of collaborators per song.
  
• In regards to the theme, you can do anything with it - make your take on it, or do something else entirely. It's just a general idea since I think I felt last year's was a little bit lost, but you won't be penalised for not following it.

EDIT 3: Expect updates. Don't do anything. We will have a theme vote.

I'm accepting entries now, and I'll set a deadline of next Thursday (2015-05-28) because I'll be playing Splatoon on the Friday.
So yes, if anyone still cares, make something and provide a link to somewhere where I can download it in some format. Also give the name you'd like attached to your song, the name of the song itself and your nationality for fun. There are no rules, you can submit anything you want as long as it's suitable for Scratch. Make sure you're happy with it being released under a Creative Commons license. The deadline will probably be extended because a week is sounding too short to me now.

There will be an option in the vote to vote for someone who hasn't submitted yet, if you are so inclined.
EDIT: maybe not! It turns out I set the deadline for three weeks, not two.

I've redone the main post to be organised, easier to read and generally more useful.

I decide to not enter because I'm really terrible at writing and composing songs. Are remixes allowed? If so, I might do a remix of a Sonic song.

I wish I had a music composing program where I could make horrible masterpieces from. Also, I just love the Scratchovision site.

I'll probably enter. I'm just wrapping up production for an 8-track section of my (rather large) 4th album, & I might enter one of those songs, but I may just do a new song for this competition.

Well, you don't really need any skills to enter this. But remixes are fine if you'd prefer.
