Okay, he's what's gonna happen. When we have 10 minigames, we are gonna pick 3 to be the ‘starter games’. These 3 games are the ones people can play for free. This does sound good, but just doesn't seem feasible with only 7 minigames available in the shop at first. Basically everything would be covered in 3 packs. Maybe when we have a decent amount of minigames we could add limited edition packs. For example, if we had 3 minigames to do with space that costed 60 points each (just throwing numbers out of nowhere here, dont expect games to cost this much), then they would cost 180 in total. Then, to celebrate our game getting curated or something, we could sell all 3 in a pack for 150. As I say, it sounds good, but would only work if:

A) We had more minigames

B) They are temporary, limited edition things

Or at least that's how I think they would work best. For limited edition stuff, we could also just put discounts on games, or make whole new games that are only on the shop for a limited time


Okay, away from that subject now, I think every member should make a minigame. If you have made one, great, make it better. I want every minigame to meet the following conditions. If yours does not, please fix it:

It must have a title screen with game's name and three buttons. Start, Help, and Quit. Start starts the game. Help brings up a screen with instructions. This screen has a back button which takes you back to the title screen. Quit sends you back to the DB games hub.

The games gameplay must be fun, addicting, and infinite. This means that it must go on forever until a certain failure condition is met. Points must go up the longer the player plays. This could mean it goes up every second, or there are things to collect (but they must be infinite. I don't want to see anything saying ‘get all 100 coins’). Meeting the failure conditions sends players to a game over screen.
This screen has ‘Retry’, ‘Title Screen’, and ‘Quit’ buttons. Retry starts the game again, title screen sends player back to the title screen, and quit sends players back to the hub. This screen also shows how many in-game points that the player has earned. These will be added to the player's DB points later, but you don't have to worry about scripting that. Also, don't worry about the actual amount of points your game gives compared to other games. We can tweak little things like point values later.

I'm going to edit this post soon (or make a new one) with some mini reviews on each minigame. Thanks for reading this very large block of text.

I'm sorry, but i'm not sure if we can accept you. The game just seems so mundane. When I play a reflex style game, I should be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next message to clikc something or press a button. But no. The game starts with slow text. This doesn't get me in the mood to be fast. I only expect to get about a second to hit a button before the game is over. I expect to get the same feeling that I still do with my old bop it toy. I reached level 19 on your game. That's not because I suck, it's because I got bored. I was just sat there tapping my fingers on the desk as I waited for the next message.

I do kinda feel like making a reflex game now, though.

Okay, review time.

The main flaw that I see with Moon Invaders is how easy it is. The idea of having lives just makes it even easier. If the difficulty could be amped up over time and the game got a menu overhaul as stated above, this game would be a masterpiece, ready to go straight into Central.

Thomas Dodges has many of the same problems as Moon Invaders. It's just so easy. This game really needs some improved physics, too. The blocks should move faster, and get faster over time. Menus also need an overhaul.

Fanner is just a work of art. It's very tedious, but in a fun way. I just think the menues need improving, with what I stated above and also graphically. The menues are just pretty boring.

Blast is brilliant, but again - menus.

So far, the three candidates for starting games are Blast, Fanner,and Moon Invaders. I would, however, like to not have both Blast and Moon Invaders as starting games because they are so similair. Does anybody think that they could make a decent puzzle minigame? A strategy game would also suffice. I could always tweak my game - ‘Specus Rector’ as well. It's not really puzzle or strategy, though. In my opinion, it's kind of like a more dynamic and exciting version of Thomas Dodges.

Guys, 1 i am getting a pic later XD but 2 ive got a good idea for a mini game on DBGC, it can be a free runner game kinda like Temple run but 2D you can Slide jump and move side 2 side with the arrow keys like: down arrow key= Slide, up arrow key= Jump and left and right arrow keys to move left and right obviously. Plus you get faster as you go along and every 1 or 2 seconds you get a point if you get hit by 1 of the obsticles you die the more points you get of that run the higher you will get on the leader board, its supposed to go on forever so it will always be possible to get higher than the highest score already, Reply back whenever you can to tell me you support and can give us ideas about the mini game, dont be afraid to speak your mind if you think this mini game is a bad idea and, if you've got any ideas for the game plz reply becouse i dont want people to think its just like temple run i would like it to be as diffrent we can.

Man, sorry for all the post, just lots of things to do. So i have been working on this game for DPGS and i think its working pretty good its a game where you in a car and you have to dodge incoming objects whilst as you go along more and more objects blast at you, this game goes on forever and the way to beat other peoples high score is every second or so you get a point so as you go along in this game you get more and more points when you hit an object, you loose so all the points you collected will be put on the leader board and you will see if you managed to beat anyone on the top 10? is it top 10? well if so, you can see if you got on there and if you get kicked of you can try again and again and practice till you get to the top!

What are you good at? (Programming, Music Making, etc.): Programming, a little bit of cloud variables. I don't really want to be part of the collab, just give you some minigames I won't mind if you use.

What is/are your best minigame(s)? : Frogcatchers, and, if it counts as a minigame in your standards, this FPS.
