people seem to be in competition to make the largest studio possible.
although I do know that Paddle2See pointed out that there's no reason to ban “add everything” studios, i believe that studios with literally tens of thousands of projects are irrelevant to the scratch website and far exceed what could be called a “collection”.
i think that a studio should have a maximum of 5000 projects so that people don't do this. it just seems too off-task and irrelevant to be condoned.
And there is nothing in the Community Guidelines that says that a studio needs to have a specific theme - so they might as well enjoy their project collections from here

no. some people have been cultivating their studios for years and have achieved hundreds of projects while still following a genuine theme. however, i don't think anyone will reach 5000. i doubt i've even played 5000 projects in my whole time on the site. 500? I think it should be reduced to 500.

I think they should put a max limit too. For the people who have their studio for years, they could split it.
5000 is too large, the new competition would be, who will be the first to reach the 5000?
If in a studio you can't browse the projects because there are too much, It's worthless. You can have studio for achive purpose and its little brother studio with the newest project, and the subscribers will have notifications on the new adds, exactly as now.
When this silly trend of adding everything is born? Maybe one year? Please, tell me. The trends will die by itself, it's quite certain, but when.
And what will be the next foolishness?
I'm an old scratcher, I was here for 4 years, and I left Scratch, when I came back, years later, I noticed a real change in the minds of the scratchers.
All is competition now. All is “I am the best, I have more followers than you, I pay you to make stuff for me, I pay you to put ”love-it" on my projects.
Seriously, it's really spoiling.

It started since 2.0 came out. There was originally only one called “The Largest Gallery on Scratch!”
But yes, please delete all the others.

A 5000 project maximum sounds logical, but PERCE-NEIGE does have a point; it would spark competition for who can reach the max.
Then again, the administrators could have a different maximum amount that nobody knows about until they hit it.
So, I suppose I support.

i agree. if they already know the maximum, then the game will become pointless because the reward is eliminated.it would spark competition for who can reach the max.Okay, so let them reach the max, and be disappointed that they wasted time just filling up a studio with random projects. Then the studios will be deleted.

I agree, but there's nothing anybody can really do. It is a shame the community has grown so competitive. I make projects to challenge myself to do better, but some people I have seen interpret it as a business - they make what people want to see and what they know will be popular, not something that is a challenge to them personally. They make the project just to get popular and not for learning. All is competition now. All is “I am the best, I have more followers than you, I pay you to make stuff for me, I pay you to put ”love-it" on my projects.

I'd love a studio project cap at 1,000-ish. Support!

But there would also have to be a cap on the amount of studios someone can have. Because if there were a 5000 project cap, and someone actually managed to fill it, I'm sure if they wanted to be obnoxious they could just make more studios, which would defeat the purpose of this suggestion.

http://scratch.mit.edu/studios/209938/ one of my projects is in this studio, look at the amount of projects.no. some people have been cultivating their studios for years and have achieved hundreds of projects while still following a genuine theme. however, i don't think anyone will reach 5000. i doubt i've even played 5000 projects in my whole time on the site. 500? yes, but it is less relevant, i think, to create tons and tons of studios. there would no longer be a point because it would become more challenging to keep creating things. But there would also have to be a cap on the amount of studios someone can have. 750. As far as I know not even the most famous people have made over 200 projects.no. some people have been cultivating their studios for years and have achieved hundreds of projects while still following a genuine theme. however, i don't think anyone will reach 5000. i doubt i've even played 5000 projects in my whole time on the site. 500? it does not matter how many projects a person makes themself. some galleries, though, will grow over the years. i have 200 projects in one gallery that were added in just the few last months by several curators, so i expect it to grow. i think the limit should exist but not restrict people who are using the galleries responsibly. it should just exist so people will know they can't have contests for the biggest size (since it is known already).750.
