About me
Hi, i’m Melody, She/her, And I sit sort of peacefully in the CDT timezone. I’m a lover of cats, theatre, reading, finger-knitting, and, of course, writing! Making up stories is something i have loved to do since as far back as i can remember!
My older sister would write them down for me, and, occasionally, i would write these tiny stories down on paper. I’ve loved reading and writing since i can remember, and i was really excited about learning to read and write when i was little.
Acting is another hobby of mine. I think that acting and writing are similar for me, because they both let me see another characters thoughts and think, “how is this character feeling?” and “how can i show that?” sometimes, i even act out a little bit of what my characters are doing!
Previous participation
I have participated in SWC two times before! This will be my third session. Here’s a timeline of my previous sessions i’ve been in:
March 2026, Adventure, Camper
July 2026, Fantasy, Camper
Each of these sessions were awesome experiences for me, and before i joined SWC, i hadn’t written very much. I’ve definitely improved as a writer since i joined SWC, and i wouldn’t have payed attention to writing as much as i do if i hadn’t joined SWC.
Cabin Preferences
If chosen as (co)leader, then i would prefer not to lead TCTWNW, as i enjoy the competitive aspects of SWC. I would be okay with leading TCTWNW, however, i think i could do a better job if i wasn’t (co)leading TCTWNW.
Cabin ideas:
My first cabin idea is a Cabin based off the Netflix show Carmen sandiego! In it, campers would be students at VILE school for thieves, and they would have to work together to uncover the secrets of VILE! This cabin would encourage bonding with fellow campers and writing through solving mysteries and puzzles, with a slight competitive aspect!
My second cabin idea is a Nonfiction cabin set in the 1900s! Campers would see what it was like in the earlier 20th century, and explore the Historical events going on then! The cabin would encourage making new friendships, writing improvement and bonding through learning about history!
If chosen as a co-leader, then i would be honored to co-lead any cabin, though my top preferences would be fantasy, adventure, gothic, paranormal, or mystery! I’d prefer to co-lead a cabin where campers would be solving mysteries or a more fantasy or paranormal type of genre, but again, i would be honored to (co)lead any cabin!
Time management and dedication
A. I should be able to dedicate a good 1-3 hours to SWC! I am taking an acting class once a week, but other than that, i don’t have any plans that should effect my activity level too much!
B. I could make to-do lists for SWC, as i love making lists (although i don’t often make them), and put the tasks on my calender, as even though i don’t do it often, i love making lists and adding things to my calender (as mentioned before)!
Communication and accountability
I’d say that my communication style is friendly and intrigued! I’m open to answering any questions that my campers have, and i’m always happy to chat or explain anything to them! I make sure i’m being clear, and i’m open to chatting or helping them with anything anytime!
SWC impact
A. SWC has really made me improve as a writer, and i’ve also made great friendships through it! If i had never joined SWC, i may have never payed attention to writing as much as i do. I may have just ended up writing every once in a while, and i wouldn’t have become as good of a writer as i am, and my writing wouldn’t be as good as it is if i hadn’t joined SWC!
B. How i wish to impact others through SWC is by getting them to pay attention to the wonderful world of writing, and have them make good friendships as i have!
Cabin atmosphere
A. The cabin atmosphere i’m aiming towards is a fun, friendly, exciting, engaging atmosphere with a bit of competition.
B. The storyline and activities would encourage bonding, slight competition, and writing through speculating on mysteries and looking for clues, and i would help the campers if they had any questions about the storyline or any questions about SWC overall!
Checkboxes
A. I’m willing to share a promotional project for SWC
I’m Willing to put the camper signups link in my “About me” or “What i’m working on” on my scratch profile.
