Eris and Tilly's SWC Penpal Thread
Saturday 21 March — Letter #1
Hi Tilly!
Nice to meet you, I'm Eris (she/her)! I'm honestly not sure what this letter should be about, it’ll probably end up as random ramblings, but maybe I’ll start with an introduction. That seems like a solid start.
I joined Scratch sometime in February because my irl friend managed to peer pressure me into signing up, so this is my first SWC session ever, but it was definitely a good choice — I hope to participate in more SWCs to come! <3
I’m from this tiny country in South-East Asia called Singapore (SGT is GMT/UTC +8). It’s pretty multiracial and multicultural so I’ve been relatively well-exposed to a diversity of people… At least that’s what I hope, because having grown up like that I can tend to take a few things for granted. We’re tropical and get warm weather all year round (so seeing snow is pretty cool when I travel; I’ve seen snow a few times) but on the plus side, the sea is really available to us, as an island.
In terms of hobbies, I enjoy crocheting and baking too! For crochet, I mainly make amigurumi — I’ve made quite a few small round whales for gifts before, along with a couple of stingrays, a mini full-body wolf, and uhhh other things I’m now forgetting. I’ve also made a double-crochet pouch before, although that is really where my experience with non-amigurumi crochet ends. I got into crochet many, many years ago but only sat down and properly learnt the stitches three years ago.
I bake mainly during the holidays — it’s actually the end of my break right now — but also sometimes with my cousins! My favourite things to make are cinnamon rolls and apple crumble muffins, although I’ve had my eye on making candies for a while now, like marshmallows, caramel, and ice cream — I have such a sweet tooth. For me baking is rather stressful but in a good way because I can never seem to find a time to bake when I don’t have time constraints, so I’m constantly trying to keep track of time and measure ingredients as fast as possible (and I’m pretty slow), but I really enjoy seeing a finished product/pastry come out of separate ingredients!
Ah, and for football, I watch the Premier League with my dad, or whichever league Liverpool Football Club is playing in. I don’t really know how it works, lol… Because my dad supports Liverpool, he mainly watches Liverpool matches, and uh… I’ve never known to support another team. I understand the very basics of football and some penalties — well, enough to understand most of the game — but I do have to ask my dad what’s going on sometimes.
Oh, a wandering thought I’ve had for quite a while: Why do Americans call football soccer? And I always wondered how American Football got its name, as to me it’s more similar to rugby than football — I used to confuse the two, lol. By the way, what kind of content do you create? I think it’s really cool that watching football can be part of your work :0
I also enjoy travelling with my family, although I’ve not gone beyond Asia and Oceania yet. I’ve been to China, Vietnam, Japan (before all the flights got so expensive :sob: T-T), Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and Indonesia so far I think, and I’m hoping to explore Europe soon (though unlikely right now because of the war). What’s life like in the UK? I’ve always wondered what it's like to live in a temperate country… Seasons are so foreign to me but I’ve always been intrigued by them
Okay, I am finally all rambled out; but I think this is good enough for a beginning letter. Ah wait, I missed out about writing, but maybe next letter, if not this might become a 1k letter and I’ll run out of things to ramble about in future letters
Anyway, I’m just going to go ahead and send this, my excitement of having a penpal is wayy too high, lol.
Very nice meeting you Tilly! Hope to hear back from you soon (but no rush),
Eris <33

Eris and Tilly's SWC Penpal Thread
Letter #1 - 21.03
Dear Eris,
Hey Eris! It's lovely to meet you! Welcome to SWC, and welcome to Scratch! <3
I've been on Scratch 7 years now (ahaha I feel olddd), and I've been doing SWC since March 2020, this is my 11th session! Love that your friend got you into this community
SWC is amazing fr!
I'm older than you then, but under eighteen! (I don't actually know if I can share my exact age lol).
Woah, Singapore is cool! I'd like to go there someday—I'm from the UK, England more precisely. Being near the sea must be so awesome!! I love the ocean and islands/beaches, but I've rarely seen them in person (only when I was little a couple times, which I don't really remember anymore heh), and snow is one of my favourite weathers—I've seen it a handful of times in my life and it's always so lovely!
Also, it's cool we're in the same cabin hehe, Discopain for the winn
Crocheting is so fun! I started in 2022, but I haven't crocheted for a few months now because I've been busy
(I really hope to get back to it ASAP!) I've been wanting to try amigurumi! I've only made two granny square tote bags (one for myself and one as a gift), and six scarves for myself and my entire close family, and a couple flowers (a daisy and a sunflower), maybe other things I'm forgetting? I always wanted to try crocheting clothes though.
Baking is one of my favourite hobbies definitely! I've sort of been surrounded by it my whole life, cakes especially, because my mum was a high profile cake decorator and I loved helping out with her orders! Cinnamon rolls are so gooddd, I also like making chocolate chip cookies and this special banana bread recipe I make that, not to toot my own horn but, is really good! >w< I've made ice cream and caramel before, you should definitely try it! Also that's so real, it's stressful but that good kind of stressful haha. Personally, I want to try the challenging things like sourdough bread and croissants at some point.
FOOTBALL AHH I rarely see scratchers around who watch football like me xD That's cool! Yes, Liverpool play in the Premier League, but they also play in the Champions League, which if you didn't know is like the most elite European league where teams from multiple top leagues (so you know how the Premier League is the highest league in England? Think the “premier leagues” of Spain, Germany, France, etc. (but they're called different names, like Spain's “premier league” is called LaLiga, etc.) across Europe compete for the biggest club trophy in continental football. The Champions League is my favourite club league to watch to be honest!
Oh, well, I'm sort of an expert on football because that's what my content is about (I explain football, and do general football commentary too, on the “clock app” and “red play button app” (hope you know what I mean, I just don't want Scratch to flag me for using the actual app names :'D), so if you have any questions feel free to ask me! I love rambling about football anyway
I can tell you why they call it soccer actually! The term soccer was actually invented in ENGLAND! (which makes the British vs Americans argument about “no, it's football, not soccer!” pretty ironic xD) Football is the older of the two terms, and around the 1800s it was called Association Football to distinguish it from Rugby Football, and in true British fashion, Oxford students started using nicknames, calling Rugby Football ‘rugger’ and Association Football SOCCER (seems like they took ‘soc’ from asSOCiation and added ‘-er’ to the end which was common in slang). So because Americans already had ‘American Football’, they adopted ‘Soccer’ to avoid confusion. (I don't know why it's called American Football yet, I'll probably find out at some point!)
Thennn the term ‘soccer’ fell out of fashion for the Brits as the term became more associated with American English, and now most Brits see it as a cringey Americanism even though THEY coined the term themselves asdfghjkl-
I'm actually a huge football fan haha, I only started watching in 2024 despite hearing of it and seeing it around my whole life, and my favourite club is Real Madrid who you might not have heard of but they play in LaLiga and have the most Champions League titles in history so are largely considered the best football club (not just saying that because I'm a fan xD because honestly they haven't been the best recently :SOB: )
Anywayy let me not ramble for too long about football-
Ahh, travelling is one of my biggest dreams, I only ever travelled to my home country when I was too small to remember it now. The places you've been to are so cool! (Ah, yeah, the war
I hope it's not affecting you too badly <3) I want to see Europe too, and China, Australia, Brazil, countries in Africa, and many others.
Living in the UK is interestinggg, it's grey skies a lot of days though
The UK was even ranked the 2nd most miserable country in the world SOBBING- It's been sunny recently, however, which is nice! We go through Spring, Summer (probably only 2 full weeks of summer heat a year though, but it kind of depends where in the UK one lives :'0), Autumn and Winter pretty noticeably every year. I never considered what it's like in a country where seasons are foreign, that's interesting :0 I live particularly in the North of England now, I used to live in the South (London actually! I grew up there), so even comparing North England and London, the seasons are a little different between both.
Ooh yes, I'd love to talk about writing! We can get to that next
Are you working on any story at the moment? I am, but I'll save the rambling for later lol-
I'm excited to hear more from you!
Sincerely,
Tilly

Eris and Tilly's SWC Penpal Thread
Sunday 22 March — Letter #2
Note: oh my gosh I did not mean to yap this much… sorry this may be a very, VERY long read
Dear Tilly,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I was so scared when I first joined Scratch but the SWC community is truly vv amazing, and I love the (kind of) random mangoes theme even though I understand it’s a long-running joke from an old session. And yes, DISCOPAIN FTWWW!! (man I love all the names we get)
Honestly, I’ve never considered what it’ll be like to live far away from the sea, because it’s basically like a 30min drive to the beach here, although our beaches are… uh… not the best, let’s say. Mainly because our water is cough cough not the clearest, but you can basically see ships or other skylines off the coast (which is cool!). We do get decent sunsets tho
I really only thought about it when I learnt that some people’s dream is to see the sea like it is mine to see snow, I really can’t imagine what it would be like living in a landlocked country or so far away from the sea ahh
Oh yes and I totally get you in the not crocheting in a few months kinda thing… I can really only bring myself to work on crochet when I’m working on them for gifts or during the holidays. It sounds like you’ve made quite a lot of crochet pieces! Ahhh and it’s so cool that your mum was a cake decorator; I've always admired the people who make cakes look amazing, wow… :0 Gosh yes and cinnamon rolls are so so amazing, I love them so much. Ah yes, how could I forget about cookies and banana bread, although I have some… not very good stories concerning these two goods if you’d like to hear about it, haha.. Maybe my brain didn’t want to think about it and conveniently forgot it, XD
Ah, I see okay.. I think I’ve watched the Champions League too, if I’m not wrong Liverpool won last year? Oh wait, I just googled it and totally forgot the seasons stretch over the years. Well, sometime recently, I think, but I’ve heard about Real Madrid… Unfortunately not super aware tho. Oh, and football commentary is so cool too! Honestly one of my favourite parts of watching sports is hearing the commentators and when they go crazy for a good move/goal, haha. I also follow F1 occasionally, (because of my dad too lol, but I understand this sport a little better) and I think the commentator’s voice is the most iconic one to me, I believe I have childhood memories of watching F1 games and eating dinner and hearing about track status…
Ah, lol! I would’ve never guessed that the term soccer was an English term oh XD.. That’s a really interesting history, the taking of SOC from association really got me, like why that section specifically heh. So football, rugby football and American football all had football in the name oh lol… This is so funny to me because I remember how confused I was for a period of time hearing people discuss the three sports and thinking they were the same thing and the rules just kept changing ahhahaha
Oh yes, and travelling really is amazing, I love seeing different parts of the world. I’m really lucky because Singapore is so well connected and positioned ‘ to get to many places, at least in the region… I had no idea what Visas even were until two years ago… *laughs embarrassed in so unaware* Definitely privileged to be able to see so many different sights
Especially because Singapore has a few, but not many landscapes, so seeing landscapes when I travel is always my favourite part! Ironically, I have a fear of flying even though I’ve done it a few times — it’s really the feeling of gravity pressing on me that I hate, but I’m slowly getting less scared
, after all it’s the fastest way to get to some places pretty far away, a journey that would take like months otherwise, another thing I can’t imagine (how did they stand such long journeys oh my gosh).
I’ve always thought about living somewhere with seasons, Spring or Autumn would be so cool but ofc it has to come with Summer and Winter (which I would definitely struggle with because I can’t do cold altho maybe the heat I can) Here, it’s basically 32 degrees (celsius) all the time and the coolest it gets is like 25 degrees or 23 when it rains. *sighs in tropical heat* We do get a lot of rain though, so that’s always a welcome break from the scorching heat. It would be so nice to go out in the sun when it’s nice and soft and warm… I always wondered how I would fare in summer heat and how different it would be from tropical heat (I heard it's more ‘dry’ kind of heat than humid if that makes sense?). It would be really cool if you came one day too! I’ve also thought about visiting the UK before…
Oh, and finally we get to writing! I’m not currently working on anything, because I didn’t really realise it before SWC but I really struggle with coming up with smth, especially long-term, without prompts. I’m kinda still waiting for inspiration to hit me because I do have a couple of ideas but none that make me really want to go and write it all. And without insane motivation there’s no way I’ll be able to finish anything. What are you working on? I’d love to hear your planning, your progress, everything
D
Sometimes I dream of becoming a published author one day, maybe writing cli-fi or fantasy novels, although I’ve recently gotten into dystopian or maybe sci-fi, mag-real, or even adventure or mystery if I learn how to write it properly.
I got into writing maybe 2 and a half, 3 years ago? It started when we were supposed to write Compositions for our English class — that was the part of English I enjoyed the most, the grammar and punctuation and spelling and comprehension was all boring to me, but I was the only one in my class who enjoyed writing those, lol. They were all very simple kinds, we learnt to use a ‘story mountain’ and we learnt about basic introductions, rising and falling actions, the conclusion, and the climax. The topics were all like, ‘an unforgettable incident’ or ‘a trip to the zoo’ and we were given pictures to help us brainstorm from there. Unfortunately this was part of our examinations and we had like 50 minutes to churn out an entire composition, although it was maybe like 600 words max? I don’t really remember. I think that’s where I learnt to force my creative juices to work under pressure, which I guess works for cabin wars now, although it may have burnt me out a little because I didn’t write for fun apart from that.
Now that I think about it, it’s pretty cool that we were taught this creative writing thing in school, but I don't like that they tested us on it. After moving on a couple of years ago to writing essays, I do sometimes miss compos tho. It was slightly after I realised I enjoyed writing them that I think I picked up writing on Google Docs, after some touch typing lessons (school required) that taught me the proper way to type but have all gone down the drain (my right hand moves across like ¾ of the keyboard to type but I’m decently quick at typing even this way.)
One of my first ‘proper’ stories was about a girl, Aspen, a princess in a winter kingdom. She liked exploring and one day found a winter dragon, a species of dragon previously thought extinct. Basically, the queen thinks it's a danger to the kingdom and wants to kill the dragon but of course Aspen convinces them not to kill the dragon. So… yeah, it was decent for my experience at that time, I think, but looking at it now it could definitely be better.
One of my first wades into fanfiction was a collaboration piece that is still unfinished oh my gosh I was going to say a Harry Potter fanfiction but I now remember I actually started with a Wings Of Fire inspired and actually very much the same, just a different continent… It was also a collaboration piece with my younger sister, initiated by me, though, and we THREW ourselves into it. I think I had about 5 or 10k words in a Google Doc somewhere which was impressive for me at the time and my young self decided without a single doubt I was going to write a novel. Like, an entire novel. With no prior experience, haha. I think I believed in myself long before I knew I could even do it.
And by threw ourselves into it, I mean that we were writing almost everyday and my sister even drew a cover for the book we had no planning for but had a prologue, and chapter one and some parts of two. Oh wait, we actually did have some planning… although it was worldbuilding more so than plot.. We were talking about what kind of species of dragons or tribes in WOF’s case, and what the continent would look like and who was allied with who. Actually, maybe we were more advanced than I give us credit for… I do remember our plot was about a war and some dragonets having a secret hideout somewhere and eventually getting their parents in on their peace plan, although this was basically the WOF plot with different dragons.
By the way sorry if I'm rambling horribly and this turns into a 2k letter or more but this rambling is working for the penpal letter reply and for cabin wars so you might have to bear with some long long paragraphs for a bit, sending you a mango for energy! (Not sure if I can do that or that's how it works but the mango has been sent it's gone hehe)
So basically yea I think my earliest recollection of writing even though it was never completed or finished was that fanfiction, even though I had no idea it was fanfiction at that time and would only discover the genre later on after Harry Potter.. Oh, and for a while my sister wanted to become an author as well but she's more into drawing now.. She does still write sometimes, she's currently working on an original piece with her friend. (And her art has developed so much, she definitely enjoys drawing) I do hope we might collab again sometime in the future though, it was really fun but chaotic trying to write with another person.
And uh the aforementioned Harry Potter fanfiction was actually initiated by my sister; she reads what I read sometimes and this was one of those cases.. We finished — or I finished, rather, as I don’t think she’s quite done with the last book; we watched the movies and so she knew the story and it wasn’t attractive to her to continue properly — and we were so desperately wanting more from the HP universe (another reason to travel, to see the kings cross station for Back to Hogwarts Day) but she caved first, so she started a story that happened in between the Deathly Hallows (when Harry was still in Hogwarts) and Cursed Child (when they were adults, if you know the timeline) and it was something about a University, I think… anyway, those were some of my adventures into fanfiction.
One last thing to close up the letter, (it’s been very long lol) I promise <3 What do you want to be when you grow up? Or maybe not grow up, that’s not a very good term, but maybe what do you want to do as a job? For me, I want to be an author like I mentioned before but unfortunately, realistically, I'll prob work a job that properly brings in money… Which is unfortunately not the case with most art kinds of jobs, sadly
But anyway, this is a question I like asking people because it’s really interesting to me because I used to think people would always want to work their passions which at that time I just equated to hobbies. For example, I thought everyone who writes would want to become a writer as their occupation in the future, because that was the case for me, *again laughs in so unaware*
Sometime later after I learnt to separate hobbies from aspirations, someone asked me what I want to study in University. I… had never thought about that before. The same person asked me what I wanted to do for a job realistically. I thought it was pretty early to be thinking about University, but that one question, or two actually, got me thinking, because I in all actuality had never thought about having to work a more common and realistic job than… being an author full-time :’D Anyway, after I thought about it for a bit, trying to remember what else I had an interest in that could turn into a job, and some early University course searching, I discovered that Environmental Studies was a course in Uni which actually made me a little too happy. I didn’t expect that the environment and all the stuff related to it like climate change and greener energy yadayada — which I actually had been pretty interested in and passionate about from quite young (story for another time!) — could have been a uni course.
Before discovering that, I was feeling a little lost because I didn’t know (which is natural as I learnt after asking some friends) what I wanted to do and study like, realistically, and I was scared I would not know and have to end up doing something I didn’t enjoy, or was passionate about so I was really, really, happy to learn that there was something I was interested in at least. (altho I think there are creative writing courses as well) I was chatting with my mum a little about this and I think that although I know there’s something I’m interested in, she reminded me to keep an open mind and basically try a wide variety of things to discover more potential interests. Recently, after watching a show/documentary about like ocean conversation, I think that I would enjoy marine biology but working as a researcher related to climate change as well.
And I’ll probably want to do writing on the side for fun
That is, if I can make it there, lol. Anyway, that’s all far into the future, but sometimes my thoughts go on a roll and then disappear when I want to pen it down and then resurface somewhere else, and I guess in this case the somewhere is here! Too Long Didn’t Read: (also have a funny story about this acronym lol) I was just wondering where your interests may lie in the future, perhaps? Also, I just wanted to yap about kind of connecting some of the dots for myself.
Okay, okay, this was wayyy too long of a letter, sorry if it’s an absolute wordful (which it is) and whoops did not intend to write this much or send this this fast but oh well Cabin Wars happened and here we are
Sorry if I overloaded you, but I took advantage of my weekend free time so…
Can’t wait to hear more from you! <33

I really only thought about it when I learnt that some people’s dream is to see the sea like it is mine to see snow, I really can’t imagine what it would be like living in a landlocked country or so far away from the sea ahhOh yes and I totally get you in the not crocheting in a few months kinda thing… I can really only bring myself to work on crochet when I’m working on them for gifts or during the holidays.
Ironically, I have a fear of flying even though I’ve done it a few times — it’s really the feeling of gravity pressing on me that I hate, but I’m slowly getting less scared
, after all it’s the fastest way to get to some places pretty far away, a journey that would take like months otherwise, another thing I can’t imagine (how did they stand such long journeys oh my gosh).I’ve always thought about living somewhere with seasons, Spring or Autumn would be so cool but ofc it has to come with Summer and Winter (which I would definitely struggle with because I can’t do cold altho maybe the heat I can) Here, it’s basically 32 degrees (celsius) all the time and the coolest it gets is like 25 degrees or 23 when it rains.
DSometimes I dream of becoming a published author one day, maybe writing cli-fi or fantasy novels, although I’ve recently gotten into dystopian or maybe sci-fi, mag-real, or even adventure or mystery if I learn how to write it properly.
For example, I thought everyone who writes would want to become a writer as their occupation in the future, because that was the case for me, *again laughs in so unaware*Sometime later after I learnt to separate hobbies from aspirations, someone asked me what I want to study in University.
Dear Eris,
It's fine that it's long haha, we get to yap as much as we want! (Besides, more yapping means more points for dicopain
and helps with cabin wars lol)
Haha, yes, the mango joke has been around for ages xD I don't exactly remember when it started though, which reminds me I wanted to ask around before—I'll definitely do that at some point haha. Discopain is hilarious, I think it started in November 2022 (I was in Discopain that session too!) which was probably my favourite session I attended thus far, it has my heart <3
Ohhh sunsets, I've always wanted to watch the sunset :'0 I've never really seen a clear sunset view before. It's interesting how people practically live in different worlds despite being on the same earth, and sometimes we don't realise what we have that is foreign or interesting to others who don't have it, or something those others dream of which we find normal isn't it? (that was deep asdfghjkl-)
Yess, I think my mum is so cool haha- she said she'll teach me cake decorating soon which is really fun!
I haven't baked in a while because our oven is broken at the moment (SOB), but as soon as we fix it I want to bake cinnamon rolls and banana bread immediately! I would like to hear your story if it's ok with you hehehe :'D I can relate, sometimes baking goes wronggg or some annoying mistake happens xD
Liverpool last won the Champions League in 2018/19 I think! But they won the Premier League last season, 24/25! This season, 25/26, they're in the Champions League quarter finals at the moment. Also yes, the commentators can be so fun to listen to xD Some can be incredibly biased and annoying though loll.
You follow F1 too, that's awesome! I've been wanting to get into F1 since last year, I haven't been able to watch a race yet (only a couple of 2 at some point), but I know a lot of drivers names because of all the F1 content I watched with my mum. We kind of supported Ferarri because of Lewis Hamilton (he's the first F1 driver we knew really, oh and my mum knew Michael Schumacher too), and I was keeping up with their races last season, but they didn't do so well :'D I also remember seeing an F1 race on my grandma's TV years ago when I didn't know what it was. Which team do you support/watch with your dad?
I know right xD And now the British argue with the Americans about it when they started it?? ToT I agree about SOC, it's pretty random LOL, and yeah it's all pretty confusing!
Oh wow, I never considered how it would feel flying asdfghjkl I hope it doesn't scare me because I've always wanted to see above the clouds :'D It's good that you're getting less scared! And you know what, I was thinking about how long journeys were before planes recently, it must have been wild just being on sea or travelling on foot for weeks on end! O_O
The cold can be rough for real :'0 I do love it when it snows though. WOAH, it's quite hot in Singapore then! Here in the UK (North England specifically, it gets a bit hotter down in London for example) we only hit 32 degrees or above a few times a year.
WRITING WOOHOO it's been in my life since I can remember, ahh- My brother and I used to make books by folding printer paper, stapling it, then drawing a cover and writing on each page inside until we finished loll. SWC truly changed my writing life, though, without it I probably wouldn't have done half as much writing in my life as I have now, or /properly/ tried writing poetry, or stepped out of my comfort zone so much with all the different genres and styles I've explored (except I did try doing NaNoWriMo quite a few times before it all shut down (did you ever try it? It was a challenge to write 50k words in 30 days every November, people have been doing their own since it shut down so the tradition is kind of still alive), my mum introduced me to it in 2018 and I planned this /WEIRDDD/ sci-fi project of some space adventure that I started planning but didn't end up writing a single word for xD).
Ooh, that's interesting because I'm the type of writer that struggles with having /too many/ ideas and trying to stick to JUST ONE :SOB: I've been fairly focused on my current WIP though (apart from all the writing I've been doing for SWC heh), which is nice, but the worldbuilding is starting to look daunting ;-;
My current WIP is a YA political low fantasy set in a fictional kingdom! I got the idea from some cabin wars sprinting or something I wrote in the November 2022 SWC, and I decided to dive into it in early 2023, then started a draft in November 2023 for NaNoWriMo (stands for National Novel Writing Month by the way, forgot to mention) BUT then I lost a bit of motivation, though it was still in the back of my head all the time, then I went back (in 2024/2025 I think?) and realised it was a mess ToT I barely planned enough ahead of it, you see, so now, since late 2025 I've been “blowing up” the project essentially, going back to all the worldbuilding, character creating, outlining, etc. my pantser self hadn't bothered to do xD I've been wanting to start writing so bad but just reining myself in a bit lol, because I haven't got enough figured out yet. I don't want to risk getting stuck again, and it's turning out better now that I'm putting more pre drafting thought into it anyway!
Since I'm “blowing it up”, I'm still figuring out the story, but at the moment it's concrete that there's 4 POVs (I've never tried a multi-pov project before so quite ambitious of me LOL) of 1 FMC and 3 MMCs (a commoner who's actually linked to something bigger though she doesn't realise it, a prince, his brother who's heir to the throne, and his best friend who's a knight and son of a highly esteemed knight in their kingdom's order (that highly esteemed knight is involved in something big that his son later discovers), and the basics of the theme is “united we stand, divided we fall”, essentially, so some of the external conflict is around fracturing unity of these five historically united kingdoms.
I've always dreamed of being an author too! I'm not quite thinking about that as I'm writing this WIP, though, and just writing what I like for myself which kind of relieves the pressure of trying to fit some publishing market or whatever, just until I've told myself the story and then if I decide I actually want this to be something I can dig deeper. I recently discovered Dystopian as well, it's a very intriguing genre! I've only ever read 2 dystopian books before, though, a middle-grade one 6-ish years ago (Where The River Runs Gold), and I got to read the first Hunger Games book for the first time late last year, but I really want to read more! I also want to try Mystery, I don't think I've read any Mystery before. Where the river runs gold was also cli-fi in a way, I found it interesting!
I remember learning creative writing in school like that too! :0 I remember the story mountainsss, that's when I first discovered plot structures I'm certain. I've been writing since I was probably 5, though, making up stories before that even—my older brother and I have always been telling stories haha.
I just realised now that you mentioned it that I know how to touch type?? I think it was from a course my mum got me on a few years ago. I used to type very erratically though, I still remember xD
That story sounds so interesting! :0 Also yes, every time I look at my old work I always think “this could be way better” asdfghjkl- The first proper story I attempted was probably a sort of fan fiction that is so cringe I won't say anything about it :SOB: except it was kind of Marvel related, but contemporary, and- ok, basically, the main characters got sucked into the cinema screen into the world of a Marvel movie they went to watch, that was the end of part 1 (it was a duology then I guess lollll, I actually finished part 1! It was one of those folded physical paper books) and part 2 was supposed to be them surviving in that world and trying to get back, but I barely started it. There are so many stories, though, I've probably forgotten one! A lot of my writing over the years has been unfinished or just snippets of story ideas though.
Wow, that fanfic sounds extensive! I've barely written fanfic unless you count me PLAGIARISING stories when I was like 7 ToT I did try a Black Widow fan fiction a few years ago because of the Black Widow movie, didn't get very far though. Collaborating with a sibling is pretty fun, especially since you live in the same place and can work on it together at any point! Believing before you knew you could is so real ahaha, I was always so ambitious and self confident in my stories, I never really thought “I don't know how to do this kind of story though”—I should take a leaf out of little me's book fr. I've never read Wings Of Fire but I've heard of it around a lot!
Haha I don't care, I can assure you
I'm now sending you a long letter asdfghjkl also for cabin wars, apologies in advance :'D (That works by the way xD)
Ooh, now that you say that, I did write fanfic without knowing what fanfic was in the past, with my brother too, but the plagiarised stories were NOT fanfic I'm certain, those were a different thing ;-;
My brother enjoys drawing too! He's really good :0 Honestly I've never considered it, but I lowkey want to ask him to draw something like a character from one of my work someday haha- he can animate too even! Andd my brother reads what I read as well, go figure xD
I've never read Harry Potter, but I know a lot about it because it's literally everywhere haha, and I did see bits of a couple of the movies on TV at a relatives house late last year actually. Also no wonder people always go on about Hogwarts when they come to the UK xD The characters are British aren't they?
Ooh, good question…I honestly don't know yet, but so many things catch my eye and I feel like trying everything yet—I don't know?? Law has really caught my eye, though, I could become a lawyer :eyes:
Environmental Studies and marine biology sound so cool! Your mum is right, definitely, my mum told me that too, that I can try different things and keep my mind open
I'll probably be doing writing on the side too, I could never really let that go <3
(I would also like to hear the TLDR story :0)
I'm cool with the long letter, it was a fun read! But likewise, this is long asdfhkl-
See you! <3
Sincerely,
Tilly

Haha I don't care, I can assure you
I'm now sending you a long letter asdfghjkl also for cabin wars, apologies in advance :'D (That works by the way xD)Ooh, now that you say that, I did write fanfic without knowing what fanfic was in the past, with my brother too, but the plagiarised stories were NOT fanfic I'm certain, those were a different thing ;-;

But likewise, this is long asdfhkl-
See you! <3
Sincerely,
Tilly

Wednesday 25 March — Letter #3
Dear Tilly,
Hi! Whoops, this letter took me a little longer to write than I expected, but hey, midweek letter! I’m glad that you’re good with long letters, I personally like reading long letters sometimes and yes, yap sessions!
<33
Yea, it’s sometimes pretty crazy to me how our one planet can have so many different people (and creatures) leading all kinds of different lives… Ahh I still need to learn how to not take things for granted sometimes whoops :’0 But yeah! It’s really cool, and that’s part of what I really like about the internet, that it helps to connect us all over the world. I can only imagine what it must’ve been like to be one of the first travellers going beyond their country and arriving in somewhere so different and so new, because at that time they would have had no idea about what other people were doing in other parts of the world, right?
Aaaa broken oven — sending a mango over for uh, help? Sorry that was weird lol… But anyway, I hope you’ll be able to bake again soon! <33 Anyway, these stories slightly ruined my mental positive association (but they’re still good!) with banana bread and cookies but hopefully they won’t affect you! Are you afraid of lizards? My whole family is, and somehow they’re pretty common (prob living somewhere in our place uhh).
So my first story is about banana bread, and my mum used to make it relatively… okay, not very commonly, but it was my first exposure to baking I’m pretty sure. I’ve actually not made it myself before, even though I do hope to! Okay, okay, getting to the story, basically my mum made banana bread, or was making it, and my sister and I got excited about it. So when she took it out of the oven, she set it out to cool with a container lid half-open over it on our kitchen counter and we all got distracted and did stuff to wait. When we came back to check (I sense you can tell where this is going), we found a lizard on the bread blehhh *shudder*. It had somehow found its way from wherever it was (they usually come out at night, it wasn’t that late that time) and onto our counter, and decided to crawl INTO the container (which it could due to the half open lid) and walk onto the cooling bread and actually die. At least, I think it died there. I can’t actually remember whether it pooped on the bread too, the story happened a number of years ago, but regardless we were disgusted.
So we had a fresh loaf of banana bread, very good smelling banana bread, with a dead lizard on it if I remember correctly. We all marvelled (?) in disgust at the lizard and I remember thinking it was such a waste (it was… the poor banana bread… T-T) we were deciding whether to cut off the part where the lizard was and eat the other, but we decided to throw it away instead (we had no idea if the lizard crawled around before deciding to die) and honestly now I’m glad we did. But yeah… we lost some good banana bread that way lol… So now whenever I think of banana bread I think of this incident and I just remember to close the cover on the bread. Hope this story didn’t gross you out too much, but it was pretty memorable for me at the time haha.
My other story isn’t that interesting, it’s actually not really a story. I just don’t have the best track record with making my own cookies (Subway cookies are my favourite) and when I make them they’re uhhh questionable looking and tasting. I end up throwing away the cookie batch 80% of the time. I don’t really have a specific story, just that I haven’t mastered the art of cookies yet I guess. Do you have any stories (they don’t have to be baking related! <3)? Aaaaa okay minor crashout incoming but do you ever get really kind of socially awkward? Because I’ve been struggling recently with not interacting in real life but actually online, which is weird, and actually in SWC (it’s one of the only platforms I’m on). Which doesn’t make sense to me, because I know, and I know that my brain knows too, that SWC is a very nice community of people who like writing and having fun, but sometimes I still hesitate before sending a comment. Which I guess can be good, in a way I now have an accidental habit of thinking once again before sending something online… But also sometimes I worry about coming off as rude or arrogant for example, even if I think my comment/words are something generally taken pretty well? I don’t really know how to express it in words but I guess I get worried about how others will take what I say and interpret it, or that others will judge me I guess. I’ve typed out comments, read them over, then deleted them again which makes me sort of confused. Maybe I just want to make a good impression on this community which I love so much and want to continue to be part of and I’m nervous joining or… I just struggle with wondering how other people will perceive and judge me I guess. I mean, no one wants to be misunderstood or mistaken, right? Sometimes I wonder if what I write makes me sound like I’m bragging or childish or just… insensitive, maybe? I’m also not really sure about how to approach speaking to people older than me? It’s mainly just people a couple years older than me, not so much adults, but I think because I only have a younger sister and friends mainly my age, I don’t really know how to interact yet? I kind of only know how to be an older sister/ talk to people my age or younger I guess. I guess I just don’t want to offend other people but maybe I’m overthinking it. Anyway, sorry for the crashout but I just started typing and continued I guess, lol.
Anyway! Back to your letter, aaaa! Lewis Hamilton is the first F1 driver I knew too!
For the longest time I knew the teams by their colours and I had no idea about the driver’s names, but for some reason Lewis Hamilton became the first F1 driver’s name I recognised and learnt. At the time when I started watching, he was in Mercedes (short funny story: I used to confuse Mercedes (the team) with the Medici family because of the similar pronunciation, lol! I used to refer to Mercedes and accidentally say Medici with the full confidence of someone who knows how to pronounce a team name, but my dad was quick to point this out and I learnt from it, haha!) so I thought I would support Mercedes. But then the news broke a couple seasons later he would be signing with Ferrari, and from there my allegiance completely swapped to Ferrari as well  so I guess I just support him as a driver! And then from there my secondary allegiance went to Charles Leclerc where it was with George Russell originally and now he’s a pesky rival to Lewis Hamilton ehehe so I guess my support really goes to Lewis Hamilton first than whatever team he’s in next, lol. Anyway, I hope to see him win a couple more races or the championship this year! If I’m not wrong he (and Ferrari) are off to… not a bad start!
Ohh, and don’t worry, flying is a similar feeling to roller coasters when they turn, if you’ve been, (I also don’t like roller coasters, didn’t like them from the first ride, heh) so if you’re good with that then you should be good for flying! If you’re like me then don’t worry, it’ll get better! One thing I like to do before flights is get candy, especially gummies, hehe. I eat it during takeoff and whenever there’s turbulence because trying to focus on the flavor instead of when pressure I’m feeling helps me. But anyway, most of my fear also came from well, the fact that we would be FLYING! In the sky!
When I think about it, it’s kinda crazy how we humans found a way to fly. Personally, I try to avoid sitting near the window or looking out too often because it makes me so disoriented but yess the view of the clouds from the plane is so cool! Usually it’s really pretty, and I say usually because the only time you can’t see anything is if there’s no clouds or if the sun is shining right at the plane. Then it gets so bright it just looks white. The most pretty cloud scene I’ve seen looked like the clouds were white caps on a sea in the sky! Sometimes, there’s even sunsets if you’re flying at the right time! Anyway, flying is pretty cool (and very safe, I say this seriously) so I hope you’ll get the chance to experience it soon! <3
Another thing that scares me is being out in the sea when it’s just sea everywhere you look, luckily I don’t think I’ve really encountered this before! (I also don’t like boat rides, they’re too scary lol)
Oh, that’s nice! Ahhh, it would be really nice if it stayed under 32 degrees for most of the year… Unfortunately with global warming temperatures were recently projected to hit 36 (AHH) degrees this week so the heat is getting pretty crazy… But anyway!
Oh my goshh that sounds so so cool! I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have an older sibling, and the fact that you started so early with your brother is amazing!
Do you still keep some of those printer paper books? Can you remember any stories you wrote in them? Yeah, I totally agree on SWC helping to get writing done, even though it's only my first session, I can foresee a lot of writing and a lot of words coming from this, haha! I’m so glad SWC exists and for its amazing community
Oooo, no, I’ve not heard/tried NaNoWriMo before, so this is the first I’m hearing of it, but it sounds really cool! I just googled it and indeed, it’s a super cool challenge! Maybe, if I’m free this November, (it’s Nov…right? oh my short term memory) I’ll try it out! That is, if I get an idea by then! It sounds great for just really sitting down and writing. Wow, 2018 means that it’s been… 8 years! Did you attempt it every year?
Oh, that must be nice, although incredibly distracting! I do get quite a decent number of ideas, it’s just that they’re so fragmented and small that I don’t really have the will or effort to finish fleshing them out. But then again, maybe that’s what my ideas are! Usually, I have a vague idea of what I want to write and by the time I’m done, it’s almost veered off course lol. XD
Ooooo your WIP sounds really cool! Are you typically a fantasy writer? I started my readings growing up with a lot of fantasy so that was the first thing I tried to write, although I’m discovering a lot more different genres now! Your WIP sounds like a really big project, and I know how hard it can be to have the motivation to stick to an idea especially for such a long time! I love multi-POV stories (you can do it!!), and I love the theme, so, so much <3 There’s something poetic about it to me, and I feel like I can get a pretty good sense of some of the story from it. I would love to hear more about it/more details as you progress along or just if you ever want to yap about it!
Aaaa yay! Another person with a similar dream! I think you’re the first writer I know (although I don’t know that many, but actually lots more with SWC now) who’s also dreamt of being an author. I’m not sure if you mean it in a job way like I did tho, as I think most of us writers do dream about our works being published. And yeah, I think it’s always better to be writing for yourself primarily before publishing! After all, if we weren't writing for ourselves, it would be kinda tortuous to be here (with so much writing to do). I think I write mainly for my passions, as in like fandoms and ideas that make it out of my head. But I also view my writing as an outlet for some of my more complex emotions/life events. I’ve recently been pretty intrigued in coming-of-age/family stories as well!
I love that schools (and governments) decided to teach us at least some basic writing skills, although I do know most people won't use it and don’t enjoy it, but otherwise I would have never discovered that I like doing this!
And again, so cool you and your brother like sharing stories! <33
Ah, and your fanfic sounds so cool too! You know, maybe our old stories’ concepts were pretty good at least. But maybe not so much technically. But that’s good, because it means we’ve gotten better as writers, right? Unfortunately for myself, I don’t start on very much unless I have a more concrete idea of what I want to write, although many of my older pieces remain unfinished. But I definitely have scenes and ideas on a note in my phone somewhere, I think that’s pretty common as writers?
It’s okay, my sister and I, our WOF story could definitely be seen as plagiarism too lol XD, and yess!! Self confidence! We can do this! <33 Ah! It’s so cool that your brother likes drawing too! Wow, and animation is amazing! And yess, that’s such a good idea! I should ask my sister or commission her too! I’ve loved seeing my sister progress in her drawings both skill and personality-wise, and recently I got inspired to get back into it as well! (the character sheets is one of the reasons why loll) I used to draw quite a lot when I was younger, but I kind of fell out of love with it and then years went by and writing popped up! Then when I was asked to draw something a bit ago, I discovered that I quite enjoyed it, so I started again.
Oh wow, I’ve never considered what it might be like where Harry Potter might be everywhere. I mean, I understand that it’s big, but that big? Wow… And yeah, I guess if travellers came and knew about HP they would ramble about it because that’s what I would do too haha! Yep, the characters are British, not sure about English tho! You might hear/see particularly a lot of HP on September 1st though, as that is the day the HP fandom celebrates Back To Hogwarts Day, the day the characters (and us, if we believe enough lol) go back to school. The most notable celebration is at King’s Cross Station where (if I’m not wrong) they have some sort of honorary platform 9¾ or Hogwarts Express announcement in the station (as that is where the train picks up the students to bring them to Hogwarts) I hate to be this oblivious person and ask, but do you also go back to school on September 1st? I always wondered if it was a made up thing for Hogwarts or if it was for all schools.
And finally… It’s okay not to know! <3 I also didn’t know a couple months back… Maybe you have plenty of interests? I think it would be nice to explore whatever catches your eye more, maybe it’ll lead to a degree eventually? It would be so cool for you to have so many options but ohh it would be so hard to pick one! Law would be really cool! Personally, I’m pretty oblivious to all the legal stuff, but if it caught your eye then that would be cool!! Thanks, I got pretty excited when I learnt that it might be something I could use/do for a living too! <3 I also hope to be writing for a long time more!
(P.S. because I forgot about it lol (I actually don’t even know what P.S. means *SOBBING* XD) Ah, right, the TLDR story. It’s actually not that funny, but it’s a decent story! Okay, so it’s basically just that I was so completely unaware of what it meant. The first time I encountered it was maybe last year, maybe earlier? And anyway, I could not be bothered to go search what it stood for and for some reason my mind remembered it as TDLR instead of TLDR. It was only at a random dinner that somehow TLDR came up as a conversation topic and I was like, oh, what does TDLR stand for? Of which I learnt it was TLDR and not TDLR and what it stood for. And I felt kinda stupid (although I didn’t bother to search for it, so…) because I, at some point, made up what it meant based on the context it was used in and I don’t remember what I thought it was but it was so different XD Anyway, now I know and I can remember the proper order of the acronym. I’ve always liked acronyms but sometimes they can be ridiculous, haha!)
Finally, finally, we reach the end of this letter. I tried (and failed spectacularly) to keep this short so I can do today’s daily — I can’t miss out on today’s, it is way too good, so I’ll just take a break and get back to writing ehehe!
Anyway, I really enjoyed writing you back and I can’t believe there’s less than a week left of SWC! :’0
Happy midweek! (if it still is for you, it’s actually closer to Friday for me now and I started on Wed lol)
Wow, I really outdid myself on this one. I promise the next one won’t be as long (mainly I can’t sustain this, esp during the school week XD) See you! <3
Sincerely,
Eris (sobbing 3k what)

:’0Happy midweek!

Dear Eris,
Whewww, 3k letter?? Fun
Same, I've been trying to be more grateful every day for the little things I never really thought about before <3 And YES, that's my favourite part about the internet/social media, seeing so many different lives and experiences! Otherwise it can be pretty bad, but bad people are everywhere
Thanks for the mango haha, we're hoping to fix the oven ourselves soon! (I researched and found out how
stuff like that and fixing computers or whatever lowkey interests me lol)
I've never seen a lizard IRL so I don't really know? It would probably make me jump, I do HATE spiders though and they're WAY TOO COMMON in my house so I can imagine ToT
OH NOOO NOT THE LIZARD ON THE BREAD :Sobbb: That's disgustingggg- it just reminded me of a story my grandma told my brother and I that involved lizards to scare us from leaving pot lids open when cooking, but it's quite dark so Idk if I should tell it asdfghjkl-
(I used to love Subway cookies! :0 Haven't been to Subway for a good couple years now though) Most of my wild baking stories involve my mum rushing around to get a cake order done and deliver it—those days were always so hecticcc—but I recently tried making a cake entirely from scratch, from baking the layers to making icing to stacking and decorating it, for my mum's birthday in August last year, and it was a PROJECT- the final icing was also wonky and not as smooth as I wanted it ToT Anddd I burned the layers a bit, but hey it was kind of fun!
I get socially awkward A LOT sobbing, even in front of my family sometimes?? I hesitate or sometimes don't send a comment at all too sobbing- I can relate completely with everything you said ahaha </3 However, when I remember that most of this SWC community loves being crazy and rambling about random things or making the randomest jokes, I try not to worry too much (emphasis on try ToT), I can't really imagine anything we could do that would, I don't know, make the SWC community disown us? Over the years I've seen people comment the wildest things, but as long as they're not mean we're all cool, you know? To be honest, apart from my two brothers and SWCers and some of my audience on my s0c!al med!a pages, I don't really talk to anyone my age?? (I don't have friends outside of online basically asdfghjkl, except that one childhood friend I see once or if we're lucky twice a year because she lives next door to my relative who lives a few hours away from us :'0) So I don't really know if I'm an introvert or extrovert, or how Iwould interact with people my age or not I guess? That was random, ANYWAY- (no worries about the crashout <3)
HAHA Medici and Mercedes do sound similar though! XD Supporting the athlete and following where they go more than one team particularly is so relatable, I do that with football as well. Yeah I think Hamilton is doing better this season than the start of last season which is nice to see!
Oof I've never been on a roller coaster either haha :'D So I guess I won't know until we actually fly lol. Good to know your candy trick though! Honestly yes, how did we do it? xD I always wondered why we hadn't figured out flying cars yet, but actually in China (? I think) they kind of already have flying cars! (they look more like car-sized helicopters but still pretty interesting!) I love the sky so I'm really excited to see the clouds from above if I can!
My mum agrees with you on the sea thing xD I lowkey want to try going on a boat/out in the sea too though haha :eyes:
AHH I have more tolerance for cold weather over hot weather so the fact that temperatures are going to heat up is not fun ToT
Having an older sibling is kind of fun fr, you have someone you can rely on and stuff (if you get along hahaha, luckily my brother and I hardly argue anymore when we used to argue nearly every day about the littlest things XD), and it's about to get more interesting since as we're getting older we're being allowed to go out by ourselves (with each other) more :0 (to the shops or the library nothing crazy lol) Yeppp I keep every paper book xD We lost some really old ones definitely (some of those were about Om Nom stories which you probably haven't heard of before unless you've played the game Cut The Rope?) from YEARS ago, and I do remember I threw this one I started into the bin years ago (to this day I actually regret it because I lowkey want to see what I had written), I barely remember the story except there was some kind of romance and the FMC got kidnapped and it was SO CRINGE, hence me throwing it away asdfghjkl- I even remember their names sobbing, they were Tayla and Jake.
One of the main ‘paper books’ I started I actually turned into an animated series here on Scratch (or at least tried to…I went through casting, script writing the first 3 episodes, started animating episode one, everything—but then I had to quit ToT), it was called Chill (no idea why), and I started with writing book 5 for some reason ??? because I planned the first 4 books in the series to be the backstories of the four main characters and how they became orphans and I guess I wanted to skip straight to when they met and the action started, which was in that 5th book :SOB: Their names were Lila, Charlotte, Mariah and Hannah, and they became besties at the orphanage before they were adopted, found each other again years later, and later found out they all had hidden ‘elemental’ powers themed around the sun, moon, earth and wind LOL That's one of the ones I finished (book 5 anyway), there's multiple others but barely completed.
YES you should try NaNoWriMo, if you do find an idea we could attempt it together? (yes it's November haha) It falls with the November SWC session anyway so I used to do them both simultaneously and add the words for SWC too, and multiple other SWCers do it alongside as well so it's quite motivating! Since the website shut down, a new organization called Pro Writing Aid started their own Novel November challenge with a progress tracker and everything, but most writers tend to do it themselves, and stuff like Trackbear can help track the words independently. IKR 8 YEARS I feel so old sometimes goodness—I attempted it a handful of years since, probably not every? But I tried a story about these twin sisters with their best friend and their family going on a camping trip and finding an abandoned campsite and trying to discover the mystery one year, and a hi-fi story about three sisters in the 1980s going to their grandparents' mansion over the Spring and being transported by an ancient grandfather clock they found to 1912 during the sinking of the Titanic another year, and then my current WIP the last time I tried which was 2023! I did it 5+ times I think, and NaNoWriMo also hosted mid-year camps in July and April that I also participated in for the Titanic story and the camping story at one point.
Yeah, it is kind of fun spinning stories out of nothing or some random thing a family member said though xD Heck, I even DREAM plots- (I dreamt of some spy mission of intercepting a ship before it delivered some dangerous cargo to an enemy the other day like whattt-) I would see a train and think ‘ooh, what if strangers woke up on an endlessly moving train with no idea how they got there?’, or look at the sky and think ‘ooh, what if a special kind of people lived in the sky and there were protectors shielding them from dangerous beings trying to invade and steal the light that holds the world together within?’ (these actually happened by the way HAHA) and I also get little fragmented ideas or even just a scene idea or a line idea, and who says it? I have no idea obviously, but it sounds cool LOL
Veering off course is a canon event for writers as well at this point, you're not alone XD
Ahh thank you so much <33 This motivates me so much hehe
Same as you, I grew up loving fantasy and started by trying to write my own, yet it was more the ‘magic powers’ side of things (like my Chill story, I made up so many other “urban fantasy” stories like that), I guess not typically a fantasy writer, but I always loved the kingdoms swords royalty ballrooms vibes and thought of MANY stories in that sort of setting lol. I've written a lot of different things honestly from spy missions to low fantasies with swords and kingdoms to contemporary to historical fiction! Thank you so much again, I'd love to yap once I figure more of it out xD For now I will say I recently renamed the 3 MMCs (and fought tooth and nail to keep the original name for the FMC (it's Briar by the way >w<) because it just fits her so well), I had to because when I started the story it was a historical fiction set in Medieval Europe sort of place, but now it's turned into a secondary world low fantasy in a non-existent kingdom, the names were too Medieval European to work and would break immersion, I was sad at first because their og names were engraved in my head by then, but I managed to change them and I'm happy with the new ones
(their og names were Dante (MMC 1), Alaric (MMC2, the heir) and Cadel (the knight MMC))
YAY I meant it as a job too :0 Also yeah, even just holding a full printed novel in my hand with my name on it is a big dream xD Writing from passions and as an outlet for life things is the way I like to go too haha, the themes from my current WIP are actually a sort of way for me to vent I guess? Because with everything going on with these high-ups/elites IRL trying to keep everyone below them divided by using things like their social constructs of class!sm or rac!sm so they can stay on top, stuff like that gets me so impassioned and annoyed enough to write about it lol. Coming of age stories are really relatable and thought provoking!
Yeah, honestly I have to give school that, they're goated for teaching me this haha. Thanks, it really bonded us I think
Sometimes our old stories concepts sound intriguing definitely! It's just the way we end up writing it amateurishly that messes it up a bit lol! Yes to the unfinished pieces AND the scenes and ideas scattered in random notes, that's 100% writers ;D
(I'm lowkey speedrunning the rest of this letter now lol) SAME, I used to draw/doodle a lot, kind of dropped it, but now I really want to pick it up again JUST so I can draw my characters or scenes or something ahaha, I keep imagining really cool art pieces of my characters but, oop, who's going to draw them? ToT
Ooh, never heard of Back To Hogwarts day, that's interesting—I think I've heard of that honorary announcement before though! Back to school actually does happen around September 1st, so it's kind of true, but sometimes as late as September 8th? People always go ‘woah, this looks like Hogwarts’ when they come to England xD I've heard it twice just recently alone. Also have you heard of the new Harry Potter show they're releasing at the end of this year? I don't know much about it, but do you have any thoughts?
I'm interested in a lot, definitely ahaha- Hoping the options will narrow down a little as I /hopefully/ try things >< I just hate injustice, so that's what's drawing me to the idea of being a lawyer among other things! And yesss, always writing!
(LOL P.S. stands for postscript and is kind of like an adding an afterthought that someone forgot I think!) HAHA that's really relatable to be honest, especially these days everyone is making acronyms and shortening words xD I sometimes don't bother to search as well and just make it up lolll!
Ahh, it's been fun talking with you too! It's Saturday now hehehe <3 We'll see how much more talking we can get in before SWC ends! :'0
Talk to you soon!

ahhh thanks Tilly, but also sorry, I guess? I did start, so it will hopefully come tmr. On the bright side, I did manage to do my homework, the weekly, AND the daily for Dystopian! Or should I say… DISCOPAIN!!

Sunday March 29 — Letter #4
Dear Tilly,
Hi! <33 I’ve been speedrunning all my stuff today so I’m going to try and make this letter quick, hopefully… not 3k again, lol. Sorry if some responses may be a little short, but I still have the daily after this too heh… AHHH It’s so sad that SWC is ending T-T I’m already starting to miss it even though it’s not even over yet (which idk how is possible but it is)
Hope you guys can get your oven fixed! It’s so cool that y’all are trying to fix it yourself. Ah, and the lizards we encounter here aren’t that big or scary or anything, it’s just that for some reason, I think it runs in my family for having a fear of lizards. Ooo, we get a couple of small spiders sometimes as well, and I think they’re really creepy too. I’m not really afraid of them in the way I am of lizards, though. Oh my gosh yes it was so disgusting loll.. I am sorry
if my story traumatised you but looking back on it it’s now pretty funny although traumatising and definitely very memorable! Ooo, and I would love to hear the story! I love a good dark story even if it concerns lizards
Woah, that’s super cool! I’ve never properly baked a cake by myself (or at all actually) let alone a full tiered, decorated cake! That’s amazinggg and it does sound like such a big project. I can’t imagine how hard it would’ve been but I do hope you mum liked it and it turned out well!
Speaking of socially awkward, I’ve actually got an interesting idea concerning social anxiety and all that: Basically, it’s a Dystopian world where almost everything is automated such as ordering hence little to no human interaction is ever needed. So when humans actually need to talk to people, they get really awkward and it’s almost impossible to interact. That’s… about all I’ve got. I just want to explore what it would be like in a world like that, and maybe input some plot + characters and turn it into a story! The idea was inspired by how more and more places (at least here) are going cashless, or ordering online (through a QR code and payment by credit card) so I began wondering what it would be like if EVERYTHING was like that. But yeah! Glad I’m not alone, and hey, we’re in this together! We can do it! And oh my gosh I really do love all the chaos and people in SWC, I think I’ve reiterated this like 5 times by now but I’m going to continue to do so hehe >
I think it’s a very nice and pretty safe (altho you can never be too careful!) community which I was — AM — very grateful for because this was really the first time I’ve interacted so much online.
Oh, I see… Do you like your alone time? Because for me, I prefer being around people more than being alone, although I’m chill with that too. I can’t imagine someone living so far away yet still in the same country — although I know that must be pretty common for any country other than one as tiny as Singapore, lol, I can’t really fathom travelling for hours and hours to see someone else still in the country! Maybe you’re an ambivert? Or, I’m not quite sure what the exact term for it is, but someone who’s sorta in the middle. I think I’m definitely more on the extrovert side though!
Oooo who do you support and follow in particular? I’m personally still conditioning myself to not seeing a red car and hoping the teal and silver car will pass it, although I think secondary (or uhhh third? allegiance goes to Mercedes, yes, Mercedes (had to make sure I spelt that right) just because they were the first team I really knew/supported and they have a tealish car XD (I like green and turquoisey tones)
Oh, you should try it one day if you can! Have you ever been to an amusement park? Not sure if it’s common over there, but Singapore managed to squeeze one in. I’ve been a few times (though mainly while overseas) although I don’t like it (my family’s not big on amusement parks, it’s mainly friendly peer pressure from friends lol) and it’s the same feeling of dread every time, so I’ve begun to avoid roller coasters in particular. I think I can do other rides fine. But I think it’s pretty popular and a majority of people who ride it enjoy it, so maybe you’ll be one of those people! Speaking of which, where are you flying to? And oh my gosh, yes, flying carsss! I can’t imagine what it would be like one day if they went mainstream. Like, what do you mean we can fly in cars?? Ooo, and I hope your flight (I think you’re taking one sometime kinda… soon? From what I can gather in context) goes well for you and you get to see the sea of clouds! It really is like being on another world…
Ohhh, you do better in the cold? Unfortunately I don’t think I do, although I may not have enough experience with the cold or I’m just conditioned to heat by now. For some reason, my sister does better in the cold though! Well, I guess if I had to choose between extreme cold and hot, I would choose cold because I can add layers but can’t remove them (I stole this from a convo my dad and sister were having when I last experienced snow WHICH WAS SO COLD FOR ME SOB). What’s the average temperature over there? Hope it doesn’t get too hot for you! (One thing we have here to battle the heat is a lot of air-conditioning. Like, a LOT. Every mall and bus and metro? If that’s what you call it, it’s called the Mass Rapid Transport here; MRT, is basically air-conditioned. The only problem with this is sometimes the aircon is just freezing for people in T-shirts and shorts who are coming from tropical heat from outside into this cold, cold, aircon.)
That sounds nice
My sister and I have more of a love-hate relationship, or more like a friend kinda relationship right now, although I hope I can be that for her when we grow older (I mean she’s still sometimes like that annoying younger sibling because they haven’t grown up yet, but she is getting more mature, although I’m sure I was as annoying when I was her age but then again there was no older sibling before me) Oh, and that’s nice too! Are your parents very strict about this? For me, my parents are pretty relaxed in terms of where we go, as I have my phone to contact them if I need to (I didn’t really go out before I got my phone) although my sister can be a bit blur, but she’s starting to go out a bit more too.
How many paper books do you have, collected over the years? It’s so cool you keep them all, I have a pretty bad habit of forgetting/deleting my old writing, I should start keeping them to look back on! Unfortunately, no, I don’t know what Cut The Rope is… OH LOL XD It’s okay, plenty of my old writing is super cringe too, even some of my pieces from last year that my friends will NOT stop teasing me about ToT.
Oh, I actually saw some of this! I checked out your profile a bit ago, nearer the start of the session (I kinda checked a couple of other Discopain campers too XD) when I was still too shy to really interact. I saw some Chill stuff, I think, although not really in-depth! It’s so cool that it was inspired by one of your paper books, and that you were going to animate it as well! Why did you have to stop, though? It sounds like a lot of work to give up on… :0 But I totally get you skipping to the action; I do that too sometimes. Oh my goshh, elemental powers/anything related to magic and elements were basically my writing/reading childhood! There was a period of time I couldn’t think of anything other than elemental related abilities, and now I think even though the trope is pretty common, it’s still a good one if done properly. But there’s definitely a lot of elemental magicky stuff and content out now…
Yes, of course! Hopefully I’ll find inspiration by then; it's still a good deal of time away… and November is a good month for me too as my school season kind of starts to wind down! Meaning, more time to write
Yeah, I googled NaNoWriMo and discovered Trackbear; I may try it if I need to! Other than that, the word count function in Google Docs works fine for me too XD TIME REALLY FLIES DOESN’T IT?? That actually sounds like such a cool story idea though, did you manage to finish it? Oooo, five out of eight years is pretty often, isn’t it? That’s so cool! It sounds like great motivation too.
I actually think I’ve kind of dreamt plots as well, it’s just that when I wake up and get to recording them they fade into nonsensical sounding fragmented ideas that sit somewhere waiting to be rediscovered. But that must be cool! I love whenever I get those kinds of dreams, especially because my brain usually puts me in 1st person to experience it! It feels great during the dream and the joy/whatever feeling lasts for a bit into the day. And those sound like such great questions to spark ideas! I should try questioning things more often, hmmm
I’m happy to hear that! And also, I definitely mainly focused on the magic powers side of fantasy too XD AND YES, OH I LOVE THE MEDIEVAL FANTASY (at least that’s what I call that kinda genre-ish?) Also everything from here will probably be shorter as ahhh this is still a super long letter WHAT and we may have to yap about M:I after SWC if you’re good with that? Or you could yap back if you want to reply and I’ll try to get back to you!
Anyway, back to your WIP! I really like the name Briar, for some reason it just reminds me of this… idk how to really explain it but it’s a good kinda connotation! I’m no expert on names and honestly my character’s names are just whatever comes up on some searches for themed names, so they all kinda suck, except for a few. Aw, those sound like such cool names too! What are the new ones?
Mmm, I get what you mean. I have a friend who writes about societyish through many different forms of writing, and yeah! I think writing is a good outlet for that, especially as I think I’ve actually learnt a lot of life lessons (although not sure to what extent or if they’ll stick) indirectly from reading books and other media, so actually, it may be a good way to spread awareness too, although I don’t think that’s your intention…
I love getting to know another person through common interests, and yes to the amateurish feelings, lol. I'm really sorry I can't figure out what's wrong in this section it's like ONE paragraph.. will update! OH MY GOSH It's one sentence and I can't figure out what it isss T-T Sometimes I get imposter syndrome whatever scratch is flagging, just talking about how I worry about how I'm perceived as well as my writing It would be so cool to commission siblings for pieces based on writing! But yeah, I’m also trying to pick it back up and looking forward to the day when I am skilled enough to make my characters come to life! Although, my character creation follows a pretty weird order that I’ll go over super quickly: personality, features, name, then… relations, then if I ever get to it what they actually look like. I kind of unconsciously avoid visualising them for some reason XD
Ah, I see! Oh, and experiencing tourists and their remarks must be so funny LOL. Ooo, and actually I have! But I think it’s on HBO, right? If I’m not wrong, it’s pretty hard to get here, but I may try to find it! Really hoping they stay true to the original films and more importantly the books. It’s gonna take a while to get used to how the characters look, though.
Oh, that’s really cool! Hope you’ll find (more) things you enjoy and you can discover what you want to do!
AHAA so I DID use P.S right in that context! Okay, and one last thing because M:I just has to come in somewhere: I’m reeeeally hoping they’ll make more films, even if it’s without Tom Cruise, because I just love the idea so much and it really was super entertaining. It won’t be the same without him tho T-T. I’ll probably continue to rewatch the older ones as time goes by though! I have a couple of silly stories but this letter is already 2k words lol so we could save that for next time if you’re okay with some post-SWC letters? I’ve been waiting to meet another M:I fan to yap about everything oh gosh… What did you like about Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation and M:I in general?
Ahhh okay sorry this may come too rushed for you but uhhh second last day of SWC! Absolutely no pressure to respond, by the way. I think Discopain is doing great already, I hope we win this session, although it really does get affected by the writing comp results, doesn’t it?
Anyway, I really enjoyed being penpals with you this session if this is our last exchange, and I hope to interact with you and get to know you even better in future SWC sessions as well! Thanks for offering to be penpals to begin with! I’m actually really glad we became penpals, I think it really helped me settle into SWC <33
Okay, sorry, finally finally, done yapping! See you around! <3
Sincerely and gratefully,

I think it’s a very nice and pretty safe (altho you can never be too careful!) community which I was — AM — very grateful for because this was really the first time I’ve interacted so much online.Oh, I see… Do you like your alone time?

Dear Eris,
*Edit - I'm not able to do a full list of thank you notes, but I want to get one in for you so I'll leave it right here hehe:
I've loved being your pen pal, it's been so much fun! I've said that a hundred times asdfghjkl but truly, you're a fantastic person
Loved your long letters too xD I'm so glad I agreed to be your penpal and it gave you relief, I'm proud of you for stepping out there despite the anxiety! <3
Now here's my last penpal letter inside the SWC session, but I'm sure not the last entirely haha
Excited to hear more from you!
MISSION IMPOSSIBLEEEE
D My heart leapt with such joy when I saw ‘Ghost Protocol’ on your daily xDD I was like “HANG ON, am I dreaming??” Love to see it hahaha- We'll get to that later
I'm so grateful for you, thanks for being my pen pal Eris <3 It's been so much fun! I'm trying to get at least one more letter in before SWC ends for the points (unless we actually squeeze in one more LOL) so heads up in advance if there's some short answers in this! :'D I'm missing this session already too sobbb-
I used to be terrified of spiders, but now I'm more irritated whenever I see one, like why can't you stay outside not in my room/house?? -_- The lizard story didn't traumatise me too bad, don't worry, but imagining it made me pretty disgusted ahaha xD
OK, you asked for it, here we go: my parentf were out so a relative was ‘babysitting’, and we were cooking soup, and if I remember correctly my brother and I left the pot open at one point? Just for a moment, then when she saw it, she sort of scolded us for leaving it open, then started telling us this story which I clearly see now was intended to scare us out of leaving pots open (it worked, because since then I always close the lid even if I'm just turning away from it for a moment SOB-) In the story, this mother was cooking soup, then told her children (I don't remember how many, more than 2?) she had to go to the shop for another ingredient and told them not to touch what she was cooking. She went out, and she had left the lid of the pot open, and apparently A LIZARD fell from the wall and INTO THE POT-
Her children didn't listen to her and went to sneak some soup, and when she got back apparently they were…no longer alive, let's say ToT My brother and I were like “wait, for real?” and she even told us it was on the news, it's real, and we were traumatiseddd 0_0
Ahh thank you, she loved the cake
It was a one tier with about 2 layers of vanilla cake, frosted white with light pink frills piped around the edges and a premade happy birthday topper because I failed to pipe the words myself xD
WOAH that's a crazy cool idea, Eris! :00 I'd be so intrigued reading that, it would be so unique! Definitely, we're in this together haha.
Yeah, I think I'm probably an ambivert, more in the middle. I'm alright with being alone, but I do like a good conversation especially about relatable things or fandoms
) Yeah, it's interesting, isn't it? The relative lives around 4 hrs away, but depending what transport we use it can take a bit longer!
At this point I support Ferrari still hehe, I want to get into actually watching the races though, hopefully soon!
I've been to fun fairs around with bumper cars and carousels and stuff, but never really a theme park like Disneyland or something like that before. England does have amusement parks, though, I've just never been xD Yet, at least!
I wish I was travelling somewhere soon!! I'm actually not whoopss, probably should've been a bit clearer :'D But indeed, flying cars would be wild!
I agree, I would choose extreme cold xD The average temperature here is probably around 15 to 20 degrees celsius? I know what you mean about going from outside heat into cold aircon lolll, because I remember when I was younger, in the summer my family and I went to see Toy Story 4 in the cinema, and I was wearing a tank top and shorts, so when we went into the cinema I was SO COLD but I didn't say anything so I was just shaking in my cinema seat for most of the movie ToT
Yeah, I think I was annoying when I was little too sobbing- and I have a younger sibling who's annoying so I get it asdfghjkl. My mum isn't really strict, actually, but she does value our safety and makes sure we understand the importance as much as she does.
Ooh, let me think…probably over 7 paper books, I also have so many stories or snippets of stories that I wrote in my notebooks! Also yeahhh after I threw out that Tayla-and-Jake paper book I kind of regret throwing out, I've been scared of throwing anything else out again so I've kept everything since haha. Aw nooo not the teasing from your friends ToT I've barely let anyone else read my writing except here in SWC >< My mum did end up catching me looking at an old draft of my current WIP and read the first few lines and I WAS HEATING UP FROM EMBARRASSMENT simply because the writing was actually very poor, the draft started with a boring market scene and exposition ;-;
My brother and I were spending way too much time on Scratch back then, so we were forced to cut the time down and that included me quitting that series because it was taking a lottt of my time :'P Yepp, elemental magic stuff is everywhere lol!
Yay, hope you get to do novel writing month this year! I didn't manage to finish any of my NaNoWriMo projects actually hehhh, the most I wrote for one project was 26k+ which was for that old draft of my current WIP I told you my mum read.
Ahh, okay, just to claim some last points for discopain I'm going to stop here, but I'll do a part two! Thanks for everything <33
Sincerely,
Tilly

Ooh, let me think…probably over 7 paper books, I also have so many stories or snippets of stories that I wrote in my notebooks! Also yeahhh after I threw out that Tayla-and-Jake paper book I kind of regret throwing out, I've been scared of throwing anything else out again so I've kept everything since haha. Aw nooo not the teasing from your friends ToT I've barely let anyone else read my writing except here in SWC >< My mum did end up catching me looking at an old draft of my current WIP and read the first few lines and I WAS HEATING UP FROM EMBARRASSMENT simply because the writing was actually very poor, the draft started with a boring market scene and exposition ;-;
Sincerely,
Tilly

Alrighty, here's part two! Picking up where we left off…
That's too real, often by the time I wake up the details are pretty foggy ToT But YES, honestly when you start asking ‘what if’ questions, a whole library of new ideas can open up!
MEDIEVAL FANTASY >>>> I've loved those vibes for so long I hardly remember where it started xD (We'll definitely yap more teehee
) Ahh thank you, her name has been Briar since I thought of this idea and I've never changed it (her surname, however, has been changed MULTIPLE times :'0) Aw, I'm sure the names aren't that bad >< I'm no expert either, I just go with the flow xD Their new names are currently Daiven, Sevrin and Wes (short for Wesrin, his birth name is Kairon though as he comes from a different kingdom to the other MCs)
Yeahh spreading awareness could be good, but a lot of the time I feel like people see it too much as fiction to read between the lines :'D And I don't know how deep I'd end up going and if it would turn them off, like they don't want to hear it or I don't know SOB-
IKR imposter syndrome is so annoying but it hits me sometimes ;-; and Scratch's forums can be annoying too asdfghjkl
Ooh, that's interesting, I visualise some characters but often I'm the same and don't really imagine what they look like xD So it's kind of weird when I'm imagining scenes, like…what exactly am I imagining? A silhouette? LOL-
Yep, it's on HBO! I've seen complaints about how the characters look from HP fans, but it might be true to the originals regardless.
Thank you, I hope so too <3 ALRIGHT, M:I LET'S GOOO:
I was surprised that they ended the main series! My fam and I always joked that Tom Cruise would be Ethan Hunt until he was like 80 xD There was rumours that they haven't completely shut it down and might explore new storylines without Ethan, but we don't completely know if it's true :'0 But fr Ethan Hunt is Ethan Hunt ToT I've only seen M:I 4, 5, 6 and 7, and all of them only once at that, I've been wanting to watch them again for years sobbb- I've caught Ghost Protocol on TV a couple times in the last few years though which was nice hehe.
I always loved those spy missions, high intensity, high stakes heists vibes, so M:I was a fav the instant I first saw Rogue Nation <3 We watched D3ad Reckoning a few months ago and we haven't seen The Final Reckoning yet, perhaps soon. What did you think of it? I heard some complaints that it was underwhelming or there was too many flashback scenes :hm:
Honestly, Ilsa was one of my fav characters, she was so cool, and I was quite disappointed when they k!lled her off
The way she went out also seemed a bit anti-climactic as well, but I understand it was because the actress wanted out of M:I, so oh well. T-T
I hope Discopain wins!! I've been in a 1st place cabin only once before (Script, I don't remember what year asdfghjkl- 2024 perhaps?), and it was awesome
It would be so cool if you were in a winning cabin for your first session! But yeah, the writing comp results affect a lotttt, but so do everyone's total word counts, so we'll see.
Yay I'm so glad you settled well <3 Thanks once again for this Eris! See you around <33

Outside SWC: Friday 10 April — Letter #1
Hi Tilly!
It's been a bit! Okay, much more than a bit. I’m so sorry this letter took forever to write, it’s already been a week what aaaaaa.. NO IT'S BEEN EVEN LONGER GAH HOLD ON I'M GOING TO SPEEDRUN THIS I'll update this it WILL be done by the end of tdy for me one way or another
Okay, I’m going to speedrun the rest of this letter so that I can get to M:I soon! Honestly, it’ll probably become the most part of this letter, but… You never know at this point, lol. I’m really sorry it took so long to get this out, I’ve been swamped by projects recently and it’s only ever been picking up since the term started… BUT ANYWAY I kinda have a clear day so here we go!
That story sounds so… creative to me, oddly? I wonder if it was a story passed down but like the kind told to prevent ppl from hurting themselves or in this case from letting lizards into pots I guess, or if it was made up on the spot! If it was, that’s super impressive to me! But that aside, I can see how to scare you, haha… The ‘on the news’ part was a touch that would have seriously traumatised me as a kid. I would have been terrified if a relative told me about that too, I would probably be avoiding lizards like the plague right now… Somehow more than my family already does lol… We probably don’t need this story in terms of fearing lizards, but… I’m actually not sure if we leave lids open when cooking right now. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed before, and uh.. I actually can’t cook. Heh. I can boil water (which I learnt to make myself milo) and fry an egg maybe, but other than that I’ll probably survive on instant stuff. But I’ve been trying to learn recently! I watch my mum when she cooks sometimes and try out doing the simple stuff when it’s easy enough. My main problem is that I’m super super terrified of hot oil, so anything that sizzles immediately scares me, haha, but I definitely want to learn to be able to cook more things soon!
Oooo, I love vanilla as a flavour and in cake! I always see videos and baking competition shows (this is what actually got me interested in baking!) of people piping cakes, so that’s super cool!
Thanks! It’s still stuck in my head right now though, so I’m not sure if it’ll ever make it out into a real draft or even just words. It came to me really randomly, but when I thought about it I was genuinely wondering what would happen if such circumstances actually existed, because of how scary tech can be now. That’s super nice to hear! Thank you <33
Aaaaa four hours sounds like a nightmare to me, I can barely sit through a 3 hour drive without wanting to avoid cars for the rest of the day. It was only when I travelled that I now understand why road trips are such a big thing because every other country in the world is so big! :0
Oh, I actually haven’t been keeping up with this season. I get all my updates from my dad and maybe occasionally sit down to watch some bits or highlights if he’s watching… The most recent update I heard was that they were on a break as they can’t race in the Middle East with the war ongoing right now, so it’s a two week break I think?
Ohhhhh, I see! It’s actually kinda ironic because I don’t think I’ve ever been to a proper fun fair before, maybe a small community one when I was a kid? But I’ve always wanted to experience that kind of fun fair! I’ve only ever ridden bumper cars elsewhere and the occasional carousel that is surprisingly pretty common in mall events here. Amusement parks definitely aren’t for everyone, my family is actually not super big on it, it’s just that we went to a Disneyland when I was a kid I think, and Universal Studios in Beijing (the most recent) mainly because they had the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and my sister and I reeeeeally wanted wands of our own. Other than that, it’s just my friends who enjoy amusement parks and I get dragged along, lol. I literally wait for them to ride the roller coasters and get really panicked and worried and scared before each ride LOLL. But I do hope you’ll get to experience it one day! Awh, maybe you’ll get the opportunity another time?
Oh wow, 15 to 20 degrees sounds so cold! Here we set our air conditioners to 25 degrees, roughly, so I struggle with the cold when it’s any closer to 20 degrees, lol. Although admittedly, all our clothes here are made for the heat, so I guess I’m just not prepared for the chill! Oh gosh that happens to me all the time when I go to the cinemas because I always underestimate the temperatures they set their aircon to! Speaking of going to the movies, have you seen any recently? I haven’t been in a while, (apart from one impromptu Super Mario one) although my family has been interested in Project Hail Mary. I found it pretty interesting that the release date kinda coincided with the Artemis II space mission too. Oh, and I saw a trailer for Toy Story 5 recently!
I see! Yeah, that makes sense! Safety first
I may be a little undereducated in the safety department there because of how ‘safe’ Singapore is, or at least how chill we are about our safety, maybe a little too chill. One of the most prominent things for me was how bright everything is here, so when I experienced dark streets when travelling I realised how scary it was and how lucky we are to have lit streets even late at night.
I wonder what it’ll be like if I look back on my writing in a couple of years. It’ll probably be really interesting! Oh, but cringey lol. I hope I will, maybe this will remind my future self to go read some stuff and cringe. Oh, haha, yeah, we all tease each other sometimes about our old writing XD OH MY GOSH I TOTALLY GET YOU There was once I was getting feedback from my friends and my teacher and I could feel my cheeks flushing as she pointed out areas (although nicely and kindly, I was still super embarrassed) that I could improve on.. My face felt so hot as she went on that I did not look up as she was suggesting and instead tried to drown myself in typing out her comments for future reference. Although at that time accepting feedback was pretty new and hard for me because I hadn’t had anyone really read my work before then, let alone feedback on it! I’ve gotten better at it recently, though, and it helps that everyone is really nice! Our feedback philosophy is to be as brutal as possible as kindly as possible, because too often we all end up complimenting each other’s pieces instead of giving actual feedback to be worked on.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m spending too much time on Scratch, but I don’t really use it other than for SWC, so I think my parents are chill with just March, July, and November being the months I have like 7hrs of screentime a day. I really enjoy SWC tho! July probably won’t be as active for me because of school but November. OHOHOHO. November I will probably not leave the house as it coincides with my school break! In a way it all nicely lines up for NaNoWriMo as well
Ohh, I see! I probably won’t finish anything either lol unless I’m super dedicated to it XD
Oh no, how did I get here? This is like 1.2k words already, I think I yap wayyy too much lol. Okay, okay, actual speedrun! I challenge myself to respond to you in less than 3 sentences for each topic. I’ll definitely start asking myself more what-ifs soon! I love when new ideas strike me.
Oooo, I love those names! If Ly was here she would go mad over seeing ‘Wes’ as that’s the nickname of one of her OCs too, although his full name is Wesley. Ah, yeah, I guess writers really can’t control how readers will interpret their pieces, unfortunately. But I think that can be good too, it lets them really imagine and feel immersed sometimes! That sounds really unique! I think I… don’t imagine anything at all? Wait that makes no sense though, maybe I just have a fuzzy spot or a silhouette too.
Ah, I mean I think that’s bound to happen with any revamps of any well-known series-es? Idk what the plural is lol. I actually haven’t seen much/read much about the new series for myself yet though! I should soon… I probably would if M:I continued with a different Ethan Hunt too… I just can’t accept anyone else (getting there soon!)
OKAY FINALLY WHEW. I’m going to jump straight into Mission Impossible because I need to start before I delay any longer… I promise I will keep this section under 500 words and this letter under 2k. (This is more to myself at this point LOL) I really hope they didn’t actually fully end the series, although it’s probably likely… I remember I really stumbled upon M:I so randomly because my mum watched the trailer and asked if we wanted to go watch “Mission: Impossible” of which I asked “What is that?” so that’s how I learnt of “It’s a spy kind of movie, Tom Cruise doesn’t have a stunt double though, so it’s basically like to watch Tom Cruise do crazy things” and after seeing the trailer we went to watch it in the cinema. I remember one of the first things my parents asked me was how old I thought Tom Cruise was, and I took a good look at him and guessed maybe 40? So when they told me he was 60 I WAS SO SHOCKED. He does NOT look 60 to me. And he was doing all these insane stunts at that age… Welp, it really sold it for me.
My parents had seen a couple of the earlier ones but weren’t super big fans of the franchise, but after I saw M:I 8 (using numbers because the titles r too long lol) I immediately declared I needed to watch M:I 7 and all the ones before. I had a M:I phase after that where whatever I listened to at that time which was weirdly a lot of Taylor Swift’s 1989 and reputation albums now reminds me of that time whenever I hear those songs, along with many, many interviews and behind-the-scenes, as much as I could find, and one more! I was doing some digging and found Light The Fuse — An Official M:I podcast!!
Aaaaa I was so happy when I found it, they actually started out as a fan project but then gained recognition from Paramount THEMSELVES and became official! Anyway if you have the time I recommend trying it out and listening to the Making Of episodes especially. Some of them can be really long but for me I was super curious about the behind-the-scenes and because they became official they had access to actually interview the cast themselves, along with the directors and some other people who unfortunately I can’t remember their names but worked on the film too. And basically I along with my family chased down the rest of the M:I series on various platforms where we could find it. I just wish now that I had discovered it earlier so that I could have watched the earlier ones on the big screen too.
Okay, sorry, I can’t keep my promise because I still haven’t got into actual M:I yap, this was just everything related to it XD I started from M:I 8 and worked my way backwards, and I had a friend at that time who watched M:I 8 and was working her way forwards from the first film; we actually bonded over M:I (you can see how crazy my phase was, and all the factors, lol). I think I’ve watched them all, yeah, I did, but I’ve rewatched my favourites so I think I watched 4 three times now, 5 twice or three times? Idk atp lol, 7 twice, and hopefully 8 soon again, heh. My family usually rents the movies on YouTube if we can’t find them anywhere else. I’ve also been on a flight with M:I in the entertainment catalogue, it was really nice and I got super excited over it. Unfortunately it wasn’t a long flight so I couldn’t watch much. I do want to try a M:I marathon one day, although maybe just 4 at once; all 8 would be a little crazy XD
I was actually introduced to this kind of spy, action, mission genre from M:I, and my parents said I should try uhhh what’s it called? Uhhh James Bond I think? Or John Wick… I honestly don’t remember… Okay and to round it all off finally, because I watched Final Reckoning first, I may be biased, but looking back now after watching the series, I think it’s not the best film in the series but it’s definitely not the worst. I think it was pretty good, the way they rounded it all up, and it unfortunately fortunately felt very much like a farewell to the M:I series from Tom Cruise. I think it would be nostalgic for anyone who had followed the series over its’ what, 30 years? So yeah, I think it was a decent film, maybe people came in expecting something bigger than anything before, but honestly what more could they do; I can’t even imagine at this point. But it was great entertainment, and they had super cool locations and stunts. Basically it’s still distinctively part of the M:I series!
P.S (because Idk when I’ll be free to yap again next so might as well!
) I really liked Ilsa’s character as well, I agree that the way she went out was… uh… not very good, that the character deserved better, but oh well… It would have been so cool if she made it to Final Reckoning though!! Also another character who went out because the actor wanted out was oh I don’t remember the name, but Jeremy Renner’s character I think? Welp, I guess the way M:I is made is not for everyone! Oh, my family really enjoyed Pom Klementieff’s Paris, though! Anyway, hope you’ll get to see Final Reckoning soon and that you enjoy it! <3
Finally, finally, in true overrun Eris fashion, woo-hoo!! DISCOPAINN FTW Oh and I actually didn’t know that word counts count for points! We shall see then, I guess! Thank you so much Tilly <33 and I’m sorry this took so long and became so long too XD (my word count is scary)
Sincerely,
Eris <3

I just wish now that I had discovered it earlier so that I could have watched the earlier ones on the big screen too.Okay, sorry, I can’t keep my promise because I still haven’t got into actual M:I yap, this was just everything related to it XD I started from M:I 8 and worked my way backwards, and I had a friend at that time who watched M:I 8 and was working her way forwards from the first film; we actually bonded over M:I (you can see how crazy my phase was, and all the factors, lol).
<3Finally, finally, in true overrun Eris fashion, woo-hoo!! DISCOPAINN FTW Oh and I actually didn’t know that word counts count for points! We shall see then, I guess! Thank you so much Tilly <33 and I’m sorry this took so long and became so long too XD (my word count is scary)
Sincerely,
Eris <3

Ahh super sorry this is so late—but I guess either of us can be as inconsistent as life forces us to be since this isn't within an SWC session :'D
I do wonder if she made up that story on the spot or not fr xD Woah I didn't know you can't cook! I cook all the time lolll, I started cooking since I was 9 I think (supervised), then by 10 to 11 I was cooking nearly by myself, but I learned most of that because we had this family s0c!al m3d!a and classes for a while where we'd do cooking and family recipes and stuff for a community we were building (that's shelved for now, but could come back :eyes
AHH too real, hot oil still scares me ToT I've also burned myself plenty of times SOB, or c^t myselfff (not terribly—except that one time omds, I used a mandoline really dangerously and sl!ced the skin on my pinkie finger :skull
BUT this is not to scare you at all, I'm just pretty clumsy :'0 When I'm cooking something in hot oil, I end up using a pot lid like it's Captain America's shield or something BAHAHA-
I love baking competition shows! (Don't really get to watch them often now :'P) My whole family does, actually lol.
Real, I have so many stories stuck in my head, SAVE ME ToT But it's actually good sometimes to let stories ‘marinate’ in your head, oh and definitely to write whatever random thoughts you get about it down somewhere in case you eventually find a way to dive right into it one day!
The road trips are rough sometimes yeah :'D But I tend to daydream a lottt, and sleep, so the time kind of goes by, but if we don't stop on the way my legs hurt horribly ToT I end up imagining all kinds of stories which adds more to that pile of stories in my brain I might never get to write T-T Even on the last road trip we took (in March), because the sky was so beautiful I spun this whole high fantasy story out of nothing with more extreme worldbuilding than I've really done before and a heartstopping betrayal—which may also never become an actual draft, but who knows SOB- I've been thinking about it a lot since then though, even earlier today it randomly came to mind :'P
Yes, they skipped the Saudi grand prix because of the war, and now the next race is tomorrow in Miami! I don't know if I'll keep up this season either, but we'll see—football is all I watch at the moment xD
I've seen a lot of theme park “horror stories” (like videos of a ride breaking for example SOB DON'T ASK ME HOW I don't even search for them, they just find me :skull
so I can understand the panic ToT I really liked bumper cars when I last tried them (2 years ago or so?), but I also had a headache after we left from all the bumping- from the sounds of it though I think I might enjoy go karting more, I really want to try that someday. At least there's no bumping cars there…intentionally anyway xD
I hope I get the opportunity to, travelling is one of my biggest dreams :'0
Noo I haven't YET, I really miss cinemas though because they're so fun! The last time I went was in 2022 I think? To watch Sonic 2 with my brother and dad (my brother has been a huge Sonic fan since I can remember and basically roped me in it xd though he knows more about it than me), and it was really fun! However, my family and I are hoping we'll get to see the new Michael biopic in a cinema, but we'll see. Project Hail Mary sounds really interesting, and yeah that is rather ironic- space mission and space movie around the same time? :0 I haven't actually seen the Toy Story 5 trailer yet, but I'm still shocked they're doing ANOTHER ONE, little me thought it would end at TS3!
That's interesting, that Singapore is pretty chill about safety! It's definitely not so much like that here, but I feel like places like America are worse because of the gvns and stuff heh. I've been fairly safe here all my life though, so that's good!
I was just thinking this yesterday!! Because I went back to read an old WWII story I plaigarised 3 books to write when I was 8-9 yrs old (there were WORD FOR WORD copies in some paragraphs omdsss -_-), and 12 year old me had written a note when I'd rediscovered it, where part of it said, and I quote “But let me tell you, my writing has improved WAYYY MUCH SINCE THEN, LIKE I COULD WRITE A WAY BETTER STORY THAN THIS ANY DAY”, and 2026-me now was like “girl, I've read 12 yr old you's writing, it's no better!” (well, at least there was better grammar and no plaigarising
), and then I checked myself thinking “what if future me finds current me's writing just as cringe?” ToT But that plaigarised WWII story had ATROCIOUS grammar and syntax and everythinggg, like every chapter was ONE LUMP PARAGRAPH, no breaks, every dialogue and action on ONE PARAGRAPH, and on top of that the story was so—Idek how to explain it but it was like: “I had to get back in time for lessons. After lessons we had dinner. It's 12am and I can't sleep, the wind is howling”, just jumping from one event to the next like that with no transition, it was awful trying to read O_O
Ahh feedback can be so embarrassing with no really rational reason ToT But for some reason I find it easier to just give my writing to some random person on the internet (an SWCer in critiquitaire for example) than someone I know LOL. Be as brutal as possible as kindly as possible is definitely the way ;D
Haha sameee, I had to drag myself away from using Scratch so much! I also only use it for SWC nowadays, I used to be so active doing all kinds of stuff back in the day, but I don't have that much free time anymore. I reallyyy hope I can participate in another or both last SWC sessions this year, but things are looking busy
November was always my favourite because SWC, my birthday, Autumn and Christmas vibes at the same time (whack I know
), and NaNoWriMo all at once xD I'm really happy you'll have time in November though! SWC AND NaNoWriMo is a fun timeeeee
Finishing is the hardest thing for me, I've never finished a proper novel draft EVER :'0
Yeppp, Eris the yapper ;D /lh It's really fun to yap though so I get it mwehehe!
NEW IDEAS ARE THE BEST, so shiny, so exciting, yet so dreadful when you're trying to focus on your current project ;-;
Thank youu, I literally just changed Sevrin's though SOB, it's Selrin now because Sevrin started sounding like sever or Severus who I think is a HP character? ToT OOH I think I saw Ly's Wesley in one of her weeklies or the character swap or something, and I jumped when I saw the name Wes xD Yeah I agree actually, different interpretations from fans of the same story are pretty interesting to observe. Haha, I just remembered one booktuber was looking at pictures of characters for the first time from a book she read, and upon seeing one of them she said something like “OH okay…I kind of imagined him like a faceless talking blob, but that works” and it was so funny and relatable XD
(I think series is the same plural actually loll, that always trips me up though because I feel like it's missing an e and an s at the end!) Yeah, revamps can't really be the same can they? I've been keeping up with a Narnia remake Netfl!x and Greta Gerwig are doing, starting at the end of this year, and it's so differenttt from the original trilogy. I forgot, are you a Narnia fan at all? I feel like we talked about Narnia before but I don't remember right now asdfhjkl-
I can't imagine anyone else being Ethan either! IKR I was shocked when I found out he was 60, I thought he was younger! Especially with all the crazy stunts he put himself through xD
Ooh that's interesting, you watched M:I8 first? :0 Was it easy to follow or were you a bit confused being dropped into the story like that? My mum had seen some of the og 3 M:I movies before too, she's the one who introduced us to the series with Rogue Nation. M:I phase is so reallll haha, I watched lots of clips and BTS in my phase too! WOW, I've never heard of Light The Fuse, that sounds so cool! I'm going to have to find that one now :00 I LOVE movie BTS, because I wanted to be an actor I would look at BTS after almost every movie we watched for a long time, I have so much random movie production facts in my head now xD Watching M:I on the big screen must've been electric, I'm sad I never got to now ToT
An M:I movie marathon would be so fun!! The most ‘movie marathon’ we've ever done was watching both LOTR 2 and 3 the same night after we had watched LOTR 1 a night or so earlier (LOTR is the Lord Of The Rings actually, I hope you know it? IT'S AMAZING) Sadly I've only seen 4, 5, 6, and 7 once each, I've been YEARNING to watch them again, but my family don't really watch much movies more than once, and now that I think about it I barely watch movies on my own sob-
(Woahh I just went to check out Light The Fuse, and I'm really excited to start listening :00 these are going to be FUN, TYSM for the rec!
)
M:I pretty much introduced me to the ‘spy action’ genre too! Ooh, I've only seen one James Bond movie with my family before, the latest one No Time To D!e which came out in 2021. I've never seen anything John Wick lol. You know, I don't really know what people were expecting haha, before the movie was out I kept imagining what bigger stunt they could possibly do, but they'd pretty much pulled out all the stops in past M:I films already lol! I hope we get to see M:I8 soon!
Yesss I wish Ilsa made it to 8! It was just one more movie, but I understand the actress wanted to drop out- OH YEAH, Renner dropped too, his character's name was William Brandt! I just did a search, and apparently he didn't want to keep spending so much time away from his family for long stretches, and there was scheduling conflicts around the time of making Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, and apparently they were going to unal!ve Brandt off in Fallout! :O I didn't know this! And Renner didn't really want that, said something like “you're not just going to drag me there (overseas on set for a long time) and unal!ve my character” lol-
DISCOPAIN FTW! Love doing this with you, thanks for chatting with me Eris <3

Outside SWC: Tuesday 19 May — Letter #2
Dear Tilly,
HI! OHHHH MY GOSH JDHSKALDHD IT'S BEEN SO SO LONG… heh, sorry I kept you waiting for like oh gosh, 16 days already?! And perhaps more because how much I'll probably yap again HAHA. (I tried breaking things up a bit more so hopefully it’s easier to read lol.)
Speaking of real life getting busy, how have you been?
I've been working on a truckload of projects (not that many, actually, maybe 7 or 8? but it feels like that) and I'm sure you've heard enough of my moaning and complaining already but uhhh can I rant a bit? lol.
Okay, rant coming: I really don't like how they staggered all the projects and smushed them all into one term, because it just felt like once we completed a project then another one would just pop up, a bit like whack-a-mole if you've ever heard of it. And I would have preferred it if they could have given us some advance notice that this term was going to be so (graded) project heavy because it felt like a surprise each time the teacher addressed us on a new upcoming assessment and it turned out to be a project. ANYWAY now that that's sort of over… (tail end of trailing projects heh…) my June break is coming up! I only wish SWC could have coincided with it but I understand Summer breaks are pretty long and some can start later in June? And most of the SWCers are in school systems with Summer and the year break so I guess it's for the best hehe
Oooh I was surfing the SWC megathread and I don’t know how I’m only seeing this now but I found your writing thread! I’ve only read your 1k intro rn but I’ll get down into your other pieces later
AND OH GOSHHH I’M SO SORRY If only I had found your intro earlier ToT I made you repeat so much of the same info from your intro in the first letter *sob* but thank you for repeating ittt
Anyway, it’s Friday now and I just submitted my LAST (FINALLYYYY) graded assignment for the term, so from now on until the end of June, I should be able to spend more time on my hobbies, which of course includes SWC!
*COUGH COUGH*… *cough cough cough* Let’s… not talk about my lack of cooking skill :’D I think 9 is pretty young to learn to cook right? Actually, I’m not sure. I have friends who have been cooking for themselves from even younger, I think maybe I just… never learnt? Anyway, would you have any tips for me on learning to cook? I genuinely want to start cooking and picking it up myself. Hopefully I can manage survival in the modern wild by myself soon…
Uhhhh *shudder* cvts really scare me too, but I’ve worked with a kn!fe (simply and only for chopping apple chunks for making apple crumble muffins :eyes: ) but I actually managed it without much trouble for my first time really using a kn!fe. So I’m not as scared of them as I am of hot oil, haha.
Oh gosh, that sounds absolutely terrifying. (I am so not up to standard on kitchen lingo that I had to Google what a mandoline is) I’ve not cvt myself too many before, apart from preschool me somehow managing to cvt myself on a pencil sharpener ToT I have no idea how I managed that haha XD. And actually, okay, first of all, that conjured a pretty funny image in my mind of my future self using the pot lid like a shield. But second, that actually sounds like a great idea! Maybe I should try it :p
I love shows that can be watched together as a family
It’s so heartwarming to see everyone bonding over a common source of entertainment <33 What is it like with a baker in the family?
Oooo, yeah, the marination helps to develop some stuff and iron out early kinks, right? Fun fact (sorry spewing weird facts because it’s been at the top of my head for a while): Did you know J.K. Rowling actually came up with the idea of Harry Potter (or wizard school to be more exact) during a train ride? She didn’t have any paper on her tho so for 4 hours the idea just marinated in her head, and during that time most of the HP characters now came to her! Human brains/minds are so amaze (PHM reference sorry this has also been stuck in my head)
My random thoughts are occasionally jotted down everywhere and anywhere for me tho XD I need to organise and collate all of them soon, one day. They’re currently in a notes app on my phone, on audio recording for dreams that I don’t have time to type, my notes app on a laptop, my diary, and some random sticky notes somewhere in a notebook or journal
This is probably a really bad reason to be afraid of road trips, but I’m afraid of a lot of things and going fast is one of them lol. Because I mainly take road trips outside SG, the speed limits are different there, and one funny example was one time we went to Australia for a campervan road trip and the speed limit was 100? (km/h) I think? Or 120 at some stretches of highway through wilderness… Which now that I think about it is probably not that fast, but the speed limit here is 90 about everywhere so that was my first time seeing a limit with 3 digits. It probably didn’t help that the van we rented was, yk, a big ‘ol van, so things sort of rattled as we went at speeds I was terrified of *sob*.
Anyway, sorry got sidetracked whoops but that’s really cool! …betrayallll :eyes: It’s so fascinating to me how we find inspiration anywhere we look, or more like it can come from anywhere to us. And yeah, my brain does that too sometimes and brings some particularly interesting things to think about in very wrong times especially during exams or when I’m trying to study! XD
Haha, yeah, I’ve not been keeping up too, and actually, I don’t think my dad has been either! I’ve not heard the commentators on for a bit, which is usually how I tell what he’s watching lol. SPEAKING of football, my short term memory loss might be coming in a bit here, but what team do you support? I feel like I’ve asked you this before but I rlly don’t remember :’0 The season is ending soon/ended, I think, perhaps by the time I finish this letter T-T
Videos have a sneaky way of finding people :eyes: Woah, that must have been quite a lot of bumping! At least it was fun hehe Oh, and I’ve never properly tried go karting before I think, but from what I’ve seen it seems pretty fun! I hope you’ll get to try and experience all that
Oooo, I don’t know much about Sonic but I think I’ve watched some sort of content or show with the characters before. Oh, and I’ve heard quite a bit about the Michael movie (that it’s good!) — unfortunately I didn’t catch it as my sister and I aren’t quite as invested in that :’D
Ooof I took a wc check and uhhh I’m running on 1.2k already :00 Okay okay I gotta speed this up or I’ll just yap forever XD
Speaking of Project Hail Mary… can I attempt to convince you to maybe get into it…? :eyes: If you wouldn’t mind probably 500 words about Grace and Rocky and everything I loved about it XD There was a short period of time I confused the Artemis mission and PHM in my brain and it turns out Andy Weir (author of PHM the book) has a book titled Artemis too XDD Toy Story 5 is about the toys having to fight with Lilypad (I think), a, you guessed it, tablet/Ipad for their child’s attention to play with. Anyway I think the toys hence get forgotten about and maybe? Thrown away or donated? Idk I don’t remember too much. I had no idea they would go on to have this many instalments! But I think for there being so many each instalment is still a pretty good movie in my opinion, which is rare for movie sequels I think!
Sometimes I think we might be a little too chill, if you know what I mean? Like, low crime doesn’t mean no crime :> I think our ‘laxness’ would probably be pretty unique to us, but I think the US is terrifying right now. I’ve always been so confused as to why gvns are legal there like.? I think it brings more harm than protection, honestly. And not to mention ICE and all that now… It’s chaos…
But actually I think our laws might be one of the reasons for our safety. I’m not sure, but I think we have pretty strict punishments, especially for drvgs and v-ping stuff which are completely illegal here. Selling chewing gum is illegal too…but that law was for cleanliness (which probably sounds ridiculous but I think we had a pretty bad problem with it). So now whenever we go overseas one of the first things to look out for is chewing gum to bring back :eyes: But yes, that’s good!
HAHA XD It’s okay its how we all learn to write, by copying when we start out, in a sense XD Ah, it’s so cool you’ve come back to it before and even left your future self a note! I hope I’ll do that for myself once I have enough written to actually come back and look at :skull: Oooh, but I guess by seeing and cringing so much at your old work, you can see that you’ve truly come leaps and bounds in your writing
Oh, critiquaire was actually one of the things I wanted to try (like PenpalSWC!
) but never actually worked up the courage to ask someone to look over my piece of work for me (unlike penpalswc
) That’s one thing I’d like to try next session though, so I may get around to that if I find a piece I actually like enough to refine and edit — ah got distracted by a figure of a bird flying by that I could identify as a Hornbill if I’m accurate then proceeded to accidentally stare at the big bright ball of light that is the sun at 8:50 am so now I’m seeing some sunspots — but anyway!
I really hope you’ll be able to participate too! Oh, that’s an amazing combination! I would love to experience Autumn or a Christmas with snow one day :eyes: our tropical equivalent is rain, rain, and more rain, but actually with climate change it’s become super unpredictable and it could just be really hot too
But it sounds like a very fun timeee :eyes:
*cough 1.8k* anyway moving on, /lh
Yesss, Severus Snape! Yes yes yes we did a character swap where I got to write my best version of Wesley (predominantly) and Arlo and she got to write her version of Cadence and Pearl from my short story! Actually, Wes and Arlo were in her short story as well hehe but the swap was so fun because we have such different characters and writing styles. AHA Faceless talking blob representation!!
Oo, I’ll need to remember that so I don’t trip up again heheh I’ve never read/watched Narnia but I’ve heard tons about it! Coming from you, what is it about? Maybe I’ll get into it this year during the holidays :eyes: Could always do with some new books to read! We kinda talked about Narnia but I think we might have gone past it without going much deeper. Well, we can here! Narnia is kind of a classic, right? I should probably go read it.
OKAY M:I time! Yeah, I can’t honestly imagine anyone doing those stunts if he had not done it, but here we are so—
Yeah I did! I worked my way backwards lol. I think that it was decently easy to follow because the beginning kinda ran down some of the mission. But things definitely make more sense after I watched 7 lol. Oh, you wanted to be an actor? That’s so cool!! I really like behind-the-scenes too, especially bloopers because when the actors break it’s hilarious. I actually want to work on some sort of production one day, be it movie or stage production (I love stage shows too!) sort of like a bucket list thing! It seems so cool to be working behind a show although I have no idea what part I’d play.
What are some of those facts? I love to hear them if you want to share :eyes:
Nooooo I’m sure they’ll bring it back for anniversaries in the future, at least I really really hope so, but the experience is truly different! Though coming from me, I’ve only seen 8 in the cinema so I’m not sure how the others would be. I’m sure it’ll be great, especially if I:MAX theatres (do you have that there?) show them like Drew and uhh I’m forgetting the other guy’s name oh Charles (nothing a quick google can’t solve) keep talking about on the episodes I’ve listened to!
Aaaa more things I need to catch up on, I’ve also heard tons about LOTR but never watched it… yet! Woah! How many movies are there? My family also doesn’t really watch repeats, I rewatch most of the shows I liked by myself or with my sister :eyes:
Hehe, you’re welcome! Just helping a fellow M:I fan find more fandom material
If you’ve had any sort of listen (their episodes are pretty long though), how are you liking it?
Ooh, was the James Bond one good? Haha, there’s no way in my wildest dreams I would have thought of or imagined any of the stunts they do in M:I T-T It’s just so… crazy! I hope you get to watch no 8 soon too, and that it won’t disappoint you!
It sounds like M:I’s filming schedule is probably really rigorous, I guess not everyone can sustain it for so long! I didn’t know that either! Uh, actually I’m glad Brandt didn’t appear again then, he’s been living a happy spy life in my mind
I think that’s a legitimate reason to want out — along with everything else lol.
Okay, whew, I’ll be able to send this out today! It’s now Saturday so hopefully you’ll have time to read this lol. Sorry I left you hanging for so long (it’s become a monthly exchange atp lol) and actually, would you like it if I sent shorter letters but more often ones (in parts, probably) or continued with these 2k+ long essays? XD It’s been like 20 days but if I sent this in parts maybe it could be a little quicker/sooner.
Love doing this with you too, thank you so much for surviving all these (*this | WHAT WERE YOU DOING PAST ERIS) yap <33
Sincerely,
Eris <3 (under 3k! (2.5k tho XD))
Dear Tilly,
AND OH GOSHHH I’M SO SORRY If only I had found your intro earlier ToT I made you repeat so much of the same info from your intro in the first letter *sob* but thank you for repeating itttAnyway, it’s Friday now and I just submitted my LAST (FINALLYYYY) graded assignment for the term, so from now on until the end of June, I should be able to spend more time on my hobbies, which of course includes SWC!
It’s so heartwarming to see everyone bonding over a common source of entertainment <33 What is it like with a baker in the family?Oooo, yeah, the marination helps to develop some stuff and iron out early kinks, right?
