Isabelle had nothing. Well, more so that she had nothing interesting to do in her hometown. The last time she able to really do something could easily have been a year ago at this point. “Uhh, are you.. Isabelle? Isabelle Wells?” a small voice calls out from behind her. The voice comes from a small, short girl with long blue hair. “Yes! Do you need help with something?” Isabelle asks. “Yes actually!! I'm Lily. There's a um.. cave that has a necklace that belongs to me inside of it. It's kind of far away and I'm too small to get it myself,” she explains. “Would you be able to go get it for me?” Lily questions. “Yes! Yes!!” Isabelle replies with barely thinking about her decision. “R-really? Thank you so much! Here's a map. Good luck!!” Lily beams at Isabelle. And with that, Isabelle sets off to the cave to find the young girl's necklace. A few days after her discussion with Lily, she finally reaches the cave at the edge of a mystical lake. She spots a small engraving on a tree stump near the entrance of the cave. “To enter this cave, you must lose your most valued brave. If you are not ready, come back when you're more steady.. that's definitely uh.. strange. It probably doesn't mean anything, though,” Isabelle says to herself. Not thinking anything of the message, she enters the cave in search of the necklace. “What the.. what's that feeling…” she whispers to herself, starting to feel a strange sensation of emptiness. “Ugh.. why am I even here? I should've just stayed home and done nothing. Adventures are so stupid.. why did I love going on them so much just a little bit ago?” she tells herself. She headed home without even searching for the necklace inside of the cave. After another few days, Isabelle reachs her hometown without thinking anything of why she decided to come home with nothing on the necklace for the little girl. “O-oh!! Isabelle! Did you find my necklace? In the cave?” Lily calls out to her. Isabelle turns around to answer. “Honestly, kid, I don't know why I went to go look for your little… necklace thing. Let's just say that adventures are overrated,” she says. “I-Isabelle?” Lily asks. Isabelle pays no attention and just goes to her house. Now, without even realizing it, Isabelle really does have nothing.

summer's swc stuff!! :)

daily for march 3rd (lol i did not realize this is like literally one of the prompts until i started) ~
Kai set out to the forest – more specifically the Amazon Rainforest. Excited for what was to come in the rainforest, he packed up his bag and stopped at the local tavern before his long journey. “Could I get a Mango Tropical?” he asked, ready to slurp up his favorite order. “Coming right up,” said the woman working at the counter that day. Once he recieved his order, he quickly drank the concoction of fruit and headed on his way. He soon reached his destination at the outskirts of the jungle of mysterious creatures and marched in. “Woah..” he said in awe whilst gazing at all of the wonderful creatures of the Amazon. “I knew that the animals here were beautiful, but this is just wow,” he whispered to himself. Trying to take it all in, he analyzed each creature closely, as that was what he had been assigned to do on this mission. To his right, there were two horse-like specimens, one looking like the other's mother. They had long, shining manes that looked like they were made of lavender colored silk and sharp almost clawlike hooves that seemed to be made of amethyst. After jotting a quick description and sketch of the beautiful horses, he peered to his right to find another animal that was even more mysterious than the crystalline mammals. The other species seemed to be small, puffball type specimens with small, fragile, translucent wings that shined when in the right angle of light. They had six itty bitty legs and two small eyes, all of which were a swirl of dark blues and yellows. After scribbling about the fluffy insects, he looked above him and saw dozens of terrifying white glowing eyes. “That's uh.. quite spooky, isn't it!” he said to himself, doing all he could to stay there and not run straight home away from the scary beasts. He saw a pair of the eyes start to come toward him. Letting out a yelp, he started running away, but stopped when he heard an adorable little ‘hrumph’ from behind him. He turned around to see something that was even cuter than the horses and bugs – a small doglike creature that had a wet shiny snout, long shaggy fur that draped over its eyes, and the largest tail he thought he had ever seen. “Aw, hi there little guy!” Kai said in awe while approaching him until the dog gave back a sharp snarl. “Ok, I'll stay away,” he whispered. He decided to head home from his adventures after that, almost forgetting to take notes about the cute animal.

WORD WARS STUFF

word war with @cyr0-st4t (one minute) ~
I dive down deep into the Atlantic ocean with my gear and weapons, ready to battle anything I find down there. I look down and see… a sunken temple? No way! This could be a life changing find for me! I dive down deeper but see some strange creatures and draw my spear to fight them.

word war with @VioAquaCat (five minutes) ~
In the presence of ghosts, there was only one thing I could do: give them food, of course!! I mean.. not like they can really eat it, but hey, maybe they'd appreciate a little charcuterie board with some meat and cheese. Cooking is pretty much the only thing I'm good at, with the fact that I'm the chef for our team. “Tim! What are you doing??” I hear Henry shout behind me. “Oh, I'm making them a little snack!” I yell back, and look down to continue my assembly. “Oh! I see! You think giving the ghosts some food that they can't even eat will keep them from possessing us!” he tells me, seeming quite happy. “Uh, yeah! Pretty much,” I reply smiling. “Sure, Tim, your death wish,” he barks at me. I think he was trying to be sarcastic, but it didn't really come through as that. I decide that maybe they don't agree with my idea.

word war with @xXFierroOrFalafelXx (five minutes) ~
“I wish we could stay like this for a bit longer..” Susie whispers to me. “I know,” I tell her. We know that we can't stay together, or the cops will find us. Aaaaand that would be bad because they think that we practically mauled a town! “They're coming,” Susie cries, snapping me out of my recollection of the past twenty four hours. I nod to her as I run away. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see her standing up and going the other way as well. Now I really can't take it.. I've known Susie since I was three. Was this adventure really worth it? It was for some random person we didn't even know anyway. I catch myself though, knowing that that wouldn't be what Susie would want from me. I need to get the one of the crystal caves fast, or I really won't have any chance of seeing her again. I know that I can count on Susie to get the other crystal.

word war with @Peachy_Rain (three minutes) ~
“PETRA!!! I knew we needed more glitter!! Our backpacks are still so boring!” I hear Xena shout to me from the other room. “Xena, I told, we didn't have any more,” I shout back, sighing. I've only gone through this conversation about a thousand times with her already. “The backpacks are just backpacks. I matters what's inside of them, not what they look like. Seriously Xena, it really doesn't matter,” I tell her, quite frustrating. Every time with ‘the backpacks are too plain!!’

word war with @SkitTheAceBandit (five minutes) ~
“How long have you been watching me?” I ask the mysterious hooded figure that I know has been tracing my steps ever since the first day of my adventure. I just haven't found a good time to confront them on it until now. “We're all alone in the fields now, so you don't have to hide behind that oak tree,” I tell them, this time turning to their direction to let them know that I do indeed know that they're there. I sigh as I sit down, waiting for them to come out. “I guess we're doing this then,” I say quietly to myself, wondering how long I'm going to have to wait for them. It's been an hour now, and they still haven't come out from behind the tree. I can literally see their hair poking out from behind. It's getting quite late, actually, so I go to sleep. I'm only comfortable with doing this since they've been following me for nearly a month and haven't shown any violent behavior. Right as I put my head down though, I hear a small voice call out from behind me. “Wait! Hello..”

word war with @VioAquaCat (six minutes) ~
Sean then got the feeling that he shouldn't have bargained with the unicorn. The potion he was sold started making him quite feverish, and he soon passed out from being overheated. When he woke up, he wasn't in his tent.. he was in a completely open wasteland of a desert! “What the.. where am I?? And what an even better question is that what in that strange concoction could have transported me to another place in the world?” he asked himself, trying to muster up some thinking despiter the shock of waking up in the middle of nowhere. Off in the distance, he spied a small silhouette of another person. “Yes! Hopefully this person can tell me where I am,” he exclaimed to himself, becoming hopeful that maybe he could find his way back to his camp before nightfall. After about a minute of sprinting at full speed, he reached the person and shouted at them to get there attention. “Hello there! Would you perchance know where we are currently?” he gasped, completely out of breath from running. “Where we are? Son, you're in the sahara desert!! Who comes to the sahara without even knowing what it's called..” the now

word war with @OctopusGhost (five minutes) ~
“Maybe jumping off the cliff was not that smart of an idea..” I mumble to myself, the wind slapping my cheeks as I fall through the trees. I think of my last moment then remember I LITERALLY HAVE WINGS. “Oh yeah,” I whisper in relief. I flap back up to above the trees and try to find a place to rest. Soon, after about three minutes of fluttering above the canopy, I find a small river with a waterfall leading into it off of the cliff. I land on the field of flowers kissing the rocky bank of the river and let myself rest for a minute. I sigh and grab my water bottle and fill it up with the river water. I make sure to enchant it so that all the bacteria goes away, and I quickly gulp down most of my large water bottle. “Oh yeah.. that's the stuff,” I breathlessly whisper to myself. I'm quite warm, so I get some more water and pour it down my spine and in my hair. I quickly realize how bad a mistake that was, because now my wings are wet and I have no way out of here. “Great..” I shout at the wind.

Residence - Manhattan, New York City
Physical characteristics - Dark brown hair, light peachy skin, freckles wrapping around her nose and on her cheeks, deep blue eyes
Likes - Candy and desserts, her girlfriend Jonah, her best friend Emma, playing the cello, reading, going on jogs in Central Park, vocaloid music (specifically JamieP), blue

Emma - Been best friends with Ayumi since 3rd grade, has secretly liked her since 7th grade, same age as Ayumi, goes to the same university as Ayumi
Other - Works so much that she can barely take any classes at her university, also just keeps her work uniform on to try to limit the amount of time she spends getting ready between work and school, favorite color is baby blue, despite loving all shades of blue except for neon blue

mood board https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1287244447/ for the mood board itself, here's the desc (117 words) ~
For the images I used in Ayumi's mood board, I used some images that had somebody being lonely because Ayumi loves to read and because of her powers that have negative side affects on her she's lonely a lot presently because she doesn't want to hurt anybody, so she isolates herself sometimes. I also included a lot of the color blue because that's her favorite color. In the middle, I put an image that had a relatively bright background that says ‘memory reboot’ because when she's transported to the HomE REalm, she starts to lose her memory before it being saved by Emma. I put some empty images and some with photographs to also show that bit.

@CHOGENKAI's character (575 words) ~
I wake up and get out of bed, starting to get ready for school. I brush out my long pigtails and get dressed. I look over my homework to make sure that I did everything, and head out. Once get to school, I look for my friends before the start of 1st period so that we can talk for a bit. After a few minutes, I'm able to find them by the entrance. I guess I didn't see them on my way in, since I'm quite nervous for a test I have today in math.
“Hi guys!” I shout out to them, waving my hand to them. They seem to glance at me then.. turn away? Uh oh. “Did something happen?” I ask them, hoping it wasn't what I said about Kaito's essay yesterday.
“Wow..” he says, and I can tell that it definitely was what I had said about her essay. I'm not really that sorry for I had said, since it was true, but I at least want somebody to talk to today.
“Look, Kaito, I'm sorry about what I said. Your writing wasn't terrible it was just.. uh… off topic! I just wanted to help you get a good grade!” I shout at him, maybe sounding a bit more aggressive than sorry. I try to look sad, but I probably just look like a wimpy little kid.
“Oh yes! I believe you completely! I'm so sorry I ever seemed mad at you!!” he says to me with the biggest smile full of sarcasm that I think I've ever seen. That's a lot, even for him. I sigh and decide o just head to first period anyways.
“Wait! Can you guys not fight for once!!” I hear Makoto call out from behind me. “I hate seeing you two fight every single day, whether it's in the morning before school, during school, during your band practices when I go, so basically all the time!! I'm getting really tired of it..”
“Yeah, it's actually kind of annoying to be honest,” Kunai mumbles while on her phone on a bench. I mean, It's not my fault that Kaito is ignoring me! I was just being helpful to make sure he didn't fail his finals, not being purposefully rude or anything. I wasn't even that harsh! I accept that I should make up with him for real this time, though, but only because of the others seeming to be getting frustrated with our antics and squabbles.
“Okay. Kaito, I'm sorry that I said that your essay was off topic and completely inaccurate to what we were supposed to be writing. I knew you'd worked hard on it for a long time, and I shouldn't have said that,” I said, trying really hard to not say it while gritting my teeth.
“Fine, I'll accept your apology,” he says letting me finally hear him speak words for the first time today. “But only if you'll finally watch Hermitcraft with me,” he says while dramatically tossing his head towards me with a smirk I know so well–the Hermitcraft Grin as I like to call it–which leads me to sighing with an exhausted looking smile.
“I don't think you'll let me put watching it off any longer anyways, even if I didn't say yes to this,” I say. The bell rings and I head to first period, feeling like that conversation was an hour longer than it should've been.

part four (825 words) ~
I look up from the work counter, and see a teenager waiting. I wonder how long they've been waiting on me… teenagers kind of scare me, to be honest, even though I technically am one. I mean the young teens though. “Hello! Welcome to Papa Sandwich's Sandwich Hub. How may I help you today?” I ask politely. “I'll have one bacon egg and cheese on an everything roll to stay,” she replies, not seeming very happy. Did I really keep her waiting that long!? Aw, now I've really screwed up!! I continue to spiral about making the girl wait too long until I see a Birdbrain pin on her backpack. Could it be.. another JamieP fan!? Eeee!! “Hey, is that egg and cheese on an everything almost done? We've got people waiting!!” I shout to the chefs in the back. Technically we don't have anybody really waiting other than her and three people that look like teachers on break waiting on subs, but I just really want to talk to her about it. After what seems like forEVER of watching her just scroll on TikTok – wait that sounds slightly stalker like – that was actually only about five minutes (which is actually quite fast considering the fact that the three subs were finished before that) her sandwich is ready. One of the chefs hands me her sandwich. I think His name is Jeff. “Thanks!” I tell him, not risking a name mix up. He waves in what I assume is a “you're welcome.” “Order 263 for a bacon egg and cheese on an everything roll to stay is ready!!” I shout out. The girl comes up to grab her roll. “Thanks,” she mumbles. I wonder why she seems so grumpy? “Oh! Is that a pin for the song Birdbrain? I love that song! Do you like JamieP's other music, too?” I ask, trying to sound surprised. “Huh? Yeah, I like JamieP. What about it?” she asks, being kind of rude. Did I say something wrong? “O-oh, I was just wondering. What's your favorite song? Mine's Human,” I say to her, trying to sound as pleasant as possible with a big smile. “Human is kind of mid. I like Electric Weekend Zone and Ego Renegade Boy, though,” she says but then glances over quickly to the wall and stares at the paintings for a solid thirty seconds. “I actually have a band back home in Japan. We cover some of JamieP's songs,” she says, very casually. Why is she acting to casual about that?? That's so cool!! “Oh wow! that's amazing! What's your band called so I can search it up?” I ask, trying my hardest to contain my excitement. “It's called Yukoyatta, but you probably won't be able to find it online. We're pretty small,” she tells me while still staring at the wall. She finally actually looks back at me again. “Hey, can I maybe actually eat my sandwich while we talk about this? I haven't had breakfast yet. Hence the bacon egg n' cheese,” she grumbles, clearly getting a bit hangry. “Oh, yeah, of course!! Sorry,” I say, wincing at the fact that I didn't give the customer her order even though I was literally holding it right in front of her. I hand it over and she immediately unwraps it and takes a bite. “Mmm… I haven't eaten all day. Anyways, I'm going to go sit down now,” she says and starts to walk away. “Wait!” I practically shout at her, which was a bit more volume than what I meant to use. She sighs and turns back around. “What do you want now..” she asks and I can see her squinting to read my nametag. “Ayumi! My name's Ayumi. And what I was going to do was look up your band on my phone real quick,” I say as I pull out my slightly old modeled iPhone. “To try to find some of your music! Here, I'm looking it up now. You said it was called Yukoyatta, right?” I ask, trying to be really kind and polite to keep her attention. “Yeah, I only said it like two minutes ago,” she replies, clearly getting annoyed with my antics about her music. After a bit of scrolling down through Oogle, I find their cover of Human! “Hey, I thought you didn't like Human!! How come your most popular cover is that then, hm?” I ask, trying to tease her a bit with a big grin. She chuckles lightly. “Yeah, that's literally why I don't like it. I've heard it too much,” she replies casually. She stands up and I realize that she's finished her sandwich. “Oh! Uh, I hope you enjoyed your meal here at Papa Sandwich's Sandwich Hub and will again soon. Goodbye!” I call out to her as she leaves. She doesn't even acknowledge what I said. Oh well, let's just hope she didn't hear me and she isn't being rude.

bonus part four with @decent-person's character (239 words) ~
Ayumi runs into the seawater. Whilst running backwards and waving goodbye to Emma and Jonah (who didn't feel like swimming this day of their summer vacation) she bumped into a strange woman. She had short, grey hair, a slightly gaping mouth, large wide eyes, and worn out clothing. Before being able to wonder why she was wearing normal clothes in the ocean, Ayumi looked up at the top of her head and almost shouts in horror – she has a gigantic gaping hole of light skin just in her head! The girl topples over immediately after Ayumi's mishap and seems to be lacking balance. “Oh geez!! I'm so sorry, I'm such a klutz,” she says, trying to not come off as rude or uncaring. “It's okay,” she says politely, almost in a whisper. The girl swims away from Ayumi out into the deeper water. Thinking that she was mad at her, Ayumi swims out to her and tries to make amends again. “Hey, seriously, I'm sorry,” she says pretty much begging the woman without even realizing it. “Thank you. I'm okay, thanks,” she replies, still quite quiet with a weak voice. Filled with confusion, Ayumi decided to just assume she didn't know much English, despite being somebody who rarely ever made any assumptions. She was still puzzled about the strange person with the a hole in her head, but decided to just relax and jump some waves in the water.

The Last Cuentista
This is an amazing book about sticking together and powering through challenges even when faced with severe loss. It's about a young girl named Petra who has to leave Earth because of a comet that is about to hit them. She has to leave behind her grandmother, Lita, and learns a shocking truth when she's woken up after three hundred years of being in stasis while they flew through space to their new planet, Sagan. With probably a mix of genres from all the SWC cabins, this book is definitely a must read.

Heartstopper
Everybody's favorite (or at least all my friends' favorite) gay romance!! Honestly, so many people know this book that I'm not sure I have to explain it.. ANYWAYS Heartstopper is about a young boy named Charlie who meets another boy one year older than him named Ben in one of his classes. They pretty much immediately become best friends and you can probably guess the rest even if you haven't read the books, lol. This book is as good as people say, so yeah! READ IT I BEG YOU.

Displacement
An amazing book about honoring your heritage through hard times. This is a book about a teenage girl who's grandmother was in an American concentration camp in World War 2. Her mom convinces her to go try to find that grandmother's house, but the girl is transported to a violin concert where her grandmother is performing. Soon after, she's taken back to the present waiting for her mom outside a library. Soon after, she's transported back multiple times, but this time as her grandmother's neighbor in the concentration camp. This is a great book and I highly reccomend it!!

I hope that if you decide to read these books, that you enjoy them and have a fun time!!

critiquitaire for @EvaEvergreen ~

Hello!! Here's critique for your writing piece; I hope it's helpful!!

The sword was heavy in my hand as I slashed through vines and cobwebs. I hoped I would never have to use it against someone.
But my opponent might not feel the same.

Always try to avoid having the word ‘but’ start a sentence, since it's a word that is made to come after a comma, not to start a sentence. just a small grammar tip ^^

It was good to have it. Just in case.
I felt my foot thud into something hard, and suddenly I was flying. The wind whistled past my ears and the ground came rushing towards me all too soon.
The impact shook me to my bones. For a moment, I was too rattled to get up.

I feel like the description here is slightly confusing. I mean, I think I understand that she's falling, but I feel like you could be a bit clearer on the fact that she's falling, because to me it seems more like she trips on something and floats through the air a bit and then splats on the ground.

No. I ignored the way my hand throbbed and my head hurt. I had to go on.
For a moment, I considered switching to the treetops.

I can understand this, but some people may not. I think you could say maybe 'For a moment, I considered switching to running across the treetops instead of just ‘switching to the treetops.’ Still amazing though!

I shook the thoughts away. I needed to focus on myself, on getting there at all, before I worried what my red-cloaked rival was up to. Lost in my own thoughts, I barely noticed where I was going before the tree appeared out of nowhere.

I think maybe you could make it more clear that that ‘flash of red’ she saw was her opponent, since to us, the flash was just some movement from something in the woods.

I groaned, pain coursing through my body.
Why did I have to be so darn clumsy?

I feel like adding in the word ‘darn’ doesn't really fit the stressful and intense situation the character is in.

Hazel withdrew it, unfazed. “So, Lydia, why are you looking for this magic book?”
“Orders from my queen. I assume the same for you?”
“Nah, I’m no noblewoman. My mother thinks it would be good for her healing business.”

I feel like in the dialogue isn't very clear of who' speaking each dialogue. Try to always put some type of ‘so and so said’ after dialogues.

“Welp, here we are! This should be the place!” Hazel said about twenty minutes later. She plopped me down in some moss and started searching for mysterious books.

Maybe the transition from Hazel picking her up could be a bit smoother, like ‘after a bit of being carried through the woods, we reached our destination’ instead of using a dialogue and then using transition words even though the scene change already happened.

There was an obvious choice here.
But . . .
“Hazel? I think I found it.”

Now this is a spot where a ‘but’ can start a sentence!! I know I said earlier that you should never start sentences with the word ‘but’ BUT (haha im so funny sure sure sure) there are occasions where it does grammatically work to have it start a sentence.

Overview: This was an amazing writing piece!! I think what I generally was saying is try to be a bit more descriptive of what's actually happening, not just descriptive using other words that complicate the scene instead of detailing it. I hope this helped <3

Hello! Here's my critique for your piece Eva <3
__________________________________________________________

You watched her talking with him and felt you could never forgive him, even though he showed no romantic interest in her and was honestly quite nice.

I love your details!! Maybe you could give some more details on who ‘he’ is, instead of leaving some random anonymous man who was talking to Hazel.
__________________________________________________________

You’d all but given up when you had a dream. You saw yourself and Hazel, living together, working together, even raising kids together.
And you knew you had to try.

Good! I feel like these two sentences are a bit vague, though. Also, the first sentence doesn't make the most sense to me. I know it's supposed to be detailed, complicated writing, but it sort of just doesn't make much sense instead. I see what you were going for, though!!
__________________________________________________________

And you trekked to her cabin, even while you slowly ran out of energy and optimism.

Since I can tell that the main perspective is worn out from going to find Hazel, maybe make it more clear that she either lives really far from the convenience store or that the narrator was running on their way.
__________________________________________________________

She looked at you, maybe, ever so possibly the way you’d always wanted her to.
“Yes,” she said.

Something that'd make a bit more sense grammatically is using a question mark instead of a comma at the end of a dialogue, since she's more so asking the word yes as in ‘yes?’ instead of replying to a question with the word yes, as in ‘yes.’ It's the small details that count!!
_______________________________________________________

The wedding was a year later. You hadn't been dating for long, and while it was short for most people, both of you felt it was long enough.
Your love was eternal and unstoppable, a force that couldn’t be stopped.

Two things: I feel like the transition here is definitely very good, but still feels a bit abrupt. Still very good, though!! Also, maybe next time use a word other than unstoppable or stopped, since it could feel slightly repetitive if you use the same word twice in a sentence, even if it has a different prefix and/or tense.

And one night, Hazel told you something that changed your life. She was pregnant.

Maybe instead of using two separate sentences, you could do one but add in a : to replace the period. Idk lol, I just feel like it would work better there.

Many tears were shed over toys seen at the store but not bought, and many dinner parties were spoiled by screaming or yelling or wailing, but you and Leah did your best to trudge through it, focusing on the joy instead of the rough patches.

Hold on a second… wasn't her name Hazel?? Hmm…

You thought he listened, most of the time.
And when he became an adult, both of you thought he was a fine one.

Here, I feel like these sentences make it seem like he's not actually a good person. I know that's not what you mean to imply, but that's more what it gives off.
__________________________________________________________

How could she hold her head high and hope for the best when to you there was no future without her?
When it seemed like her time was running out?

This could just be me, but I feel like just doing one sentence for this part makes a bit more sense, like using a comma instead of the period or using an and instead of the period.
__________________________________________________________

She looked you in the eye and told you that you were wasting the time you had left together. Did you want to hear her, to have these memories, or not? she asked you. Did you want her to leave knowing you hadn’t heard her final words?

For this part, either make it a dialogue or at the ‘she asked you’ part turn it into ‘to have these memories or not is what she asked you’. (also capitalize the s in she)

I hope that my critique on your piece was helpful, and hope you have a good SWC!!

summer's swc stuff!! :)

bi-daily for march 10th and 11th (wip) ~

idea one (tw: blood) (119 words): I was just brushing off Baybay and gearing him up for my ride. I went to go grab a tool but I suddenly couldn't feel my toe. A few seconds later, I peeled backwards onto the floor in pain. It took a lot to not scream in pain, but I knew that would make this all worse by spooking the horses. Lily came over and quickly scooched Baybay off of my toe to help the pain. She helped me over to the table, and I waited for what felt like an hour of crying and screaming for mom to come and take me to the hospital for my toe that seemed like it was never going to stop bleeding.

idea two (115 words): I got on the train with my dad in my sparkly rainbow dress, ready for a long night of fun jumping to energetic music. This was my first concert–and a good one I was going to make it!! I mean, who gets to go see Taylor Swift as their first big concert ever? The closest thing to a concert I've had been to was a picnic at night in the park before this. I sat down, and when the doors closed, I realized just how long this train ride was going to be. After about four train transfers, we finally arrived at the stadium about 10 minutes before the people opening started, well, opening.

main memoir (tw: implications of blood, needles, and slight gore) (648 words): I went up to Baybay with my brush and scrubbing tool for the horses there. I went up to him and was just brushing him when I turned around to pit down the brush and was going to go grab something else until I realized that I couldn't feel my toe anymore and turned back to look at it. I froze in horror as I saw that part of my foot was underneath Baybay's gigantic hoof. I curled over in pain as my the feeling in my toe started to come back from the numbness of the weight of the adult horse being on my foot. I wanted to scream, but I knew that would spook all of the horses and worsen the situation. Lily came over to scoot Baybay over, and helped me over to the entrance so I could sit down. I was screaming for my mom for what felt like an hour, but was probably only about fifteen minutes. The older kids were laughing at my crying so much, but I didn't care about that then. I just wanted my toe to stop hurting I took my boot of to see what was going to be a sock I was not going to use anymore because of the crimson red stain around my toe. Lily and on of the other people who worked there tried to help me by attempting to remove my soaked sock and giving me a bag full of ice, but it didn't really do anything despite their efforts. A bit later, my mom finally arrived in the car with my dad. They immediately took me to the emergency room and my dad convinced me to take of the sock once we were in the car, despite it hurting terribly. He also tried to distract me with some funny cat videos, which helped a bit. When we got to the hospital, the person waiting at the front gave us a wheelchair and told us where to go for pediatrics. We got to the waiting room and I was put with a woman who checked on my toe and told me that they were going to have to remove my toenail. Before that, though, I got an x-ray with a doctor that was actually really nice. This was the first x-ray I'd had that I could actually remember, since my actual first one was when I was a toddler. The x-ray went well, but then I knew it was time for them to remove my toenail. They gave a nasal spray to help make me a bit drowsy, but all it really did was make me lose my balance. After that medicine supposedly ‘kicked in’ they gave me multiple extremely painful shots in my toe before they removed the nail. To be honest, the shots hurt more than the rest of the pain I'd felt that day somehow. My dad says that he hadn't heard that cry of pain from me ever since I was a baby and got my first shots. I'm not going to go into detail for the rest of it, since it was quite disgusting. After the removal of the nail, my parents gave me about forty five minutes to let the nasal spray wear off so I could get up and walk downstairs and out to the car to go home. Oh, and I think I forgot to mention all of this happening just under a week before my birthday!! It was such a grand time going apple picking with one shoe and a bag around the foot that was hurting me. So yeah, that was a fun time. It also caused me ingrown toenail issues for about three months once the nail grew back in. That concludes my memoir about one of my favorite horses scaring me away from horse care for the rest of my life.

daily for march 12th (599 words) ~

Alli knew he could never make a real career as a writer, being an alligator that secretly lived in the sewers underneath the bustling city. He tried and tried so hard to find a place where he could write, until one day he finally found a place he could complete his dreams of being a fantastic writer for alligator childrens books: Scratch Writing Camp!! He said goodbye to his Ma and Pa, grabbed a map of the globe, and set off to start writing. There was one small problem though – Alli had no idea at all where this writing camp was. He searched all over the Asia and North America and Europe and even Antartica to try to find it, but still didn't even have a clue for where the heck it was. And when he tried to ask people, all they did was run away screaming. He knew people were scared of alligators from his parents' stories of human encounters, but he didn't know they were thought of to be so terrifying. Eventually there was one small girl whom he asked who actually listened and didn't run away in terror. “Oh, you mean SWC? Yeah, I love that camp! Hate to break it to you, but Scratch Writing Camp actually isn't anywhere in the world. More so it's everywhere in the in the world, actually. It's a digital program that anybody can join and write in. Here, you seem like you wouldn't have a computer, so I'll give you mine!! I'm a better typer on my phone, anyways,” she said to him. After weeks of not having any clue of what to do about this camp and qlmost giving up hope, he finally felt a spark of excitement in him. He would come home to his Ma and Pa with this ‘computer’ (whatever that was) and make them proud by becoming a renowned writer in the sewer alligator community. He heard a screech come through the windows of the small house that the girl had entered, and she quickly came running out with a black brick that had a small yellow piece of paper stuck on top. She handed it to him, whispered the smallest ‘thank you’ ever, and ran back inside within ten seconds. He smiled and noticed a terrified woman standing in the doorway hurrying the child back inside. Alli guessed she didn't like alligators as much as who he assumed was her daughter. He turned around and headed home to the city, ready to tell this exhilarating tale to his parents back in the tubes of mucky water named the sewer. He looked at his map to try to calculate where in the world he actually was and after about a minute, he found that he was in Hungary. He didn't know what Hungary was, but he did know that he was hungry, so he went out hunting for some fish at a nearby pond. After a small snack of some small fishies, he mapped out his journey back to his home city. He first went to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Sweden and swam through the freezing water until finding a cruise ship that he saw was going around North America from Scandinavia. He snuck into the luggage area and waited a few days until they reached land. From there, he trekked by foot to his home. Off in the distance, he spied the towering buildings of his home city – and a manhole, too – and ran speeding to get to his Ma and Pa, grasping his brand new computer in both arms.

daily for march 14th ~

Daisy never understood what the heck was up with math. It was quite sad, to be frank, since she always practiced her times tables at home, did addition and subtraction with fairly large numbers, and did the same with those large numbers as multiplication and division. Yet she could not wrap her head around any other form of math. She would go into a math quiz for school, thinking she would for sure be ready since she typically stayed up all night studying for quizes when it wasn't basic multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. Despiter her trying efforts of studying for ages from afternoons right after she came home from school on Friday all the way to the wee hours of Monday morning, she always got an F. She just seemed to not be able to grasp math concepts that weren't at least two years behind her actual grade she was in. Her and her parents initially were going to have her held back, but she was excelling with full marks in all her other classes, so they didn't see the need. Daisy all year round tried her best to forget about the yearly Pi Festival at her school, since it was her least favorite event of the year. At least she knows she's able to trick the people working at the festival into thinking she's only in fourth grade, since she's always been quite a small and short girl. This meant she was able to enter the junior's contest instead of the middle aged kids contest. Eventually, the day of the festival came and Daisy bolted to the junior contest immediately. She tried her hardest to just actually speak the answers, but like every year, she faltered and couldn't answer the equation in time. This year she came in the second place, at the very least, but she still had no clue of what was up with math.

daily for march 15th (524 words) ~

lyrics used:
My dampened breath is low, and it beats against my cheeks as I go - Lost Umbrella by Inabakumori
and I repeat many question marks, time and time again - Sou Datta!! by Takenoko Shounen
All alone in a black and white scene - Candle Queen by GHOST

I pant from running all the way from the old department store to the playground. I don't care that there's a storm currently. Besides, what difference does some water droplets falling in the midst of autumn make to sitting around and wasting time? My dampened breath is low, and it beats against my cheeks as I go to the seesaw. I dig my heels into the soft wet ground as I sit down on the play structure and grasp my hand onto the handles. I jump a bit at the sting of the cold rain hitting my small hands. I shake my head, trying to stay focused and I repeat many question marks, time and time again. Why do I even bother with anything like this? It doesn't even do anything for me. I shake my head again to stop myself from thinking so much. Standing all alone in a black and white scene of rain like this is one of the few things that brings me pleasure nowadays ever since I lost Mom. Not like there were many more things to give me joy before that, anyways. We never had much money and she couldn't afford to send me to school, so most of the time I just sat behind the hardware store counter, studying the many beaten grooves of old used hammers that were for some reason kept on display. Now I just sneak into the store and stay there as an alternative to my non existent housing. I finally start using the seesaw, bouncing myself up and down, alternating digging in my heels and pushing up with my freezing toes. I'm ashamed at the fact that I was sitting doing nothing, engrossed in self thought for that long amount of time. I'm disgusted at the thought of it. After wasting time for a bit longer, I decide I feel like staying out here tonight, beneath the slides and main play structure in the refreshing cold instead of the always humid and overheated shop of beaten nails and drills. I stand up and slowly make my way over to the underbelly of the building that's meant to be ‘fun’ and cause ‘happiness’. I slide down onto the ground and take a deep breath. I sigh out of frustration of there being nothing worth my time in this closed off world. I feel a sharp pain in my spine, all the way up to my scalp and down to my toes on both of my feet. My eyes begin to flutter closed as I start to drift off to sleep. What is this? I wasn't tired just a minute ago.. I fall over onto my side, hitting my head hard on the ground that had just been soft from the soaking sheet of rain. I try to open my eyes and get up, but realize I can't move. The pain grows stronger, and I hear muffled voices behind me. I can't make out what their saying or who the voices may come from, but I finally pass out from this strange pain overtaking me and everything begins to just fade away into darkness…

weekly for march 10th through march 16th (tw - loss, death) ~

chat i genuinely made this so depressing

part one (406 words) ~
exposition: Layla runs from the department store after being caught by the owner of the department store that had practically been her home since her mother's passing. Trying her best to not be pathetic and cry, she runs to the playground in the cold rain and sits with her thoughts for a while. She realizes that there's people about to pass, so she hides underneath the play structure and stays there for a while and sleeps beneath the metal building. It's still raining the next morning, and she steals some food from the deli like she does daily.
rising action: After sitting back down in her hiding spot once she had gotten her breakfast, she nibbles a few bites and bounces herself up and down slightly on the seesaw. She goes back to underneath the play structure after hearing some lightning, not knowing that metal channels lightning since she's still only nine years old.
climax: A few minutes later, she feels a strange sensation go through her head all the way to her toes. That sensation quickly turns into a deep, sharp pain and she tumbles over in small needle stabs of hurt everywhere. She catches herself, but eventually passes out and hits her head as she slips onto the ground.
falling action: Layla wakes up in the hospital, still feeling quite drowsy. There's multiple doctors standing over her and she asks what happened. They tell her that she was struck by a lightning bolt that was channeled through metal and she realizes that was what all the pain was. They say they're surprised she woke up, and that there's still a very strong chance that she won't survive this incident. After a few days, she starts to feel the effects of the strike more again. Her heart rate starts to drop, and doctors rush into the room and monitor her.
resolution: Later that day, she starts to faint and a tall nurse with long, shining hair in a ponytail comes and holds her hands. She seems worried, but Layla couldn't be happier. She looks up and sees her mother. She knows it's not possible that she's just seeing her mother, and knows that these are her last few seconds, but she smiles and stands up to grab her mother's hand. She feels peaceful now, and lighter like a feather, too. She doesn't look back and follows her mom to where they'll be eternally in happiness.

part two (1051 words) ~
I look up and see the madly spitting man that runs the department store. My eyes widen and I decide that crying about being caught living in here is something that isn't worth my time right now. I get up and dash out of the store into the cold autumn rain of September. I have an oversized rain coat and some boots on, but other than that, I don't really have any clothes. I feel my long, straight hair start to get soaked and feel the water slide down my black cape of slippery hairs on my head and onto my boots. “Don't you come back!!” is what I'm quite sure is what the manager of the store shouts to my back, but I just keep running. Guess that my only home since Mom passed is now gone. I spy the playground a few blocks away and decide to head there for the night, since I was actually about to go to sleep before I was caught. I slide down underneath the play structure, ducking beneath the slides and climbing walls up onto the piece of metal. How pitiful I'm being, sleeping on a public entertainment ground is what I think to myself as I doze off in the dark habitat of rain in the city. I wake up the next morning and see that it's still raining and I probably will just mope around here a bit longer for today and trek out to find a new home tomorrow after resting a bit. I dash quickly over to the deli across the street and pretend to be looking for something to buy, even though I'm just going to steal a bit of food. I quickly snag a large bag of tortilla chips and sprint as fast as I can out the door. I hear snores come from the counter and realize that the cashier's sleeping, anyways. I sit down on the merry go round, push myself off to start spinning, and start munching on some of my chips for breakfast. Afterwards, I think to myself for a bit about some things I don't really want to share. You'd take pity on me for them, and they're quite embarrassing because of that. I get up and walk over to the see saw and dig my heels into the soft, wet dirt that makes up the ground of this place. I then push myself up, rolling my weight from my ankles down to my toes and repeat that process to bounce myself up and down for a bit. I sigh and spy somebody about to pass by. I quickly go to hind behind the bushes to make sure I'm not spotted. I don't need to be found in my new and temporary home as well. I see them pass, and I'm about to go to the swings and go back to the motions of digging my heels into the ground, but I see the crack of a lightning bolt and then hear a very loudly roaring boom of thunder closely after. I quickly dash to underneath the main play structure again, trying to hide from the now thundering storm. I give myself a moment to catch my breath, and then look up at the sky. If only I could go to the beach right now with Mom in the nice warm weather of summer. My daydreams are interrupted by a flash of light and a sharp pain from my skull all the way through to my toes. I topple over in pain, and barely catch myself in the process of doing so. My eyes widen as I start to be paralyzed in pure hurt. I fall over completely this time, hitting my head. I start to get dizzy and tired, and things in my eyes are starting to blur. I hear a faint gasp and shouts for help, but my eyes blink closed as I fall into subconsciousness.
I hear some dampened chatter once I finally come to. My eyes flutter as I open them, and I see a very sanitarily white ceiling. I groan in pain, and try to lift up my hand but I can barely move. A tall woman with milky chocolate hair slicked back in a wavy ponytail looks over from a huddle with some other people. This is when I realize I'm in the hospital. The girl walks over to me. “Hey, how are you doing?” she asks me in a soft and whispery voice. “Ughh… ouchy.. what the heck happened to me?” I ask, hardly making any sound at all. “You were struck by lightning at the playground. A woman that had passed by heard a scream behind her and rushed backwards to see what happened and found you about to pass out underneath the climbing area,” she tells me, somehow having that same softness while being direct, too. I guess that woman I avoided in the bushes saved my life, then. I attempt to sit up, but the woman quickly pushes me back down into my bed. “Nuh uh, you're still on the brink of being alive. No leaving for a while. My name's Lindsay, how about you?” she smiles at me with the question. “My name? Um, I'm Layla,” I whisper. I look out the window and see a nice, beautiful sunny day. Amazing that that couldn't be what it was like outside yesterday. I groan and put my head back, starting to get quite dizzy and lightheaded. I got extremely warm and started sweating. Lindsay kneels down onto the ground quickly and shouts to the other doctors to come over and try to help. My hearing fades out and I close my eyes. I swallow down and strap in for a decent five minutes of increasingly bad pain. I know what's happening. And instead of trying to deny it or block it out of my head, I accept the fact that these are probably my last few minutes or maybe even seconds left alive. I look up at the ceiling and smile at the sight of my mother reaching down to me. I push off my blankets and stand up. I reach for her hands and float up to the skies with her, knowing we'll happily be together for the rest of eternity.

part three (168 words) ~
Hello! Here's my critiqueiobwecoibhwe&bwec for you
HOLD ON, YOUR DESCRIPTIONS WHAT?? Genuinely, you are AMAZING at describing every detail, down to the smallest ones that are so itty bitty you can barely notice them. Maybe a small tip is that you could give some more background to what the story is about and about the characters. You could maybe describe Lucien and the main character appearance wise at some point as well as the previous. I love where the story is going and all the details (have I pointed out the details yet) and the characters, too! I just think you could maybe add a bit of backstory and/or add some morein the beginning. ONE MORE THING - there was one point where you spelled ‘sight’ as ‘site’ lol sight is like seeing and then site is like a place. And don't worry, I'm only getting this picky because I need words, haha. ANYWAYSSS the story was amazing and I hope you have a great day!!

daily for march 16th (note: none of the events in this story are canon in my oc universe lol and NO MY PERSONA IS NOT ACTUALLY MENTALLY INSANE LIKE THIS OK) (717 words woa) ~

I shout to Jeff that there's a new order of somebody wanting a sub. He shouts an ‘alright’ back. I pull out my phone and lean back against the wall. I see an advertisement on TokTik for a new game show, which catches my eye. This could be my chance to finally get away from this stupid sandwich shop!! I click on the ad, and shortly realize that was probably a not very smart decision. I decide that it's too late now, so I scroll down through the page about it. I seem to be really out of it today, because the next second, I'm floating midair in the middle of a colorful tornado of rainbow swirls. “What the heck. Ok, yeah, clicking that link was DEFINITELY a dumb decision. Either that or I'm genuinely dreaming right now because somebody knocked me out. Hopefully neither, but probably the latter,” I say to myself, being quite worried about what the heck is actually happening to me at the moment. I feel a large pain on the back of my head, and I hear a small crack, too. I start to feel quite drowsy and topple down the spiral of colors.

~~Thirty minutes later~~

My head is lulled over my chest. How long was I subconscious like this… I try to pull up my arms from my seat, but they seem to be tapes to whatever chair I'm in. I attempt to look up and open my eyes, but quickly close them seeing bright purple lights. The back of my head feels a bit numb– oh wait. Yeah, there's the pain. I lean my head back against my chair and notice a nice fluffy texture against both my now comfortable head and my taped down arms. I begin to hear whispers off in the distance. I attempt to shout out for help, but notice that my mouth is also taped off, too!! Wonderful. I hear sneaker stomps approach me. Soon enough, a loud, painful rip comes out as the tape is ripped off my mouth. I decide to open my eyes now and see a large audience of gray, faceless people. I gulp in disgust and look to my side to see a woman in a pink crop top and long messy pigtails sitting in another purple velvet chair. She smiles at me. “Hello there!! Looks like we have a new member of our little club here! Welcome to the show, Ayumi!” she shouts at me, being eerily excited. “How do you know my name-” I ask her, but she cuts me off. “Uh uh!! No speaking unless it's your turn. I'm Summer, and it's time for your first question!!” The woman jumps up and hands me a microphone. She turns around and sits back down. “So, Ayumi, what's your favorite color?” she looks to me. “Uh, my favorite color? It's light blue,” I say kind of quietly, being a bit scared of the giant spooky crowd. “Wowee!! How wonderful! Here's your next few questions: what's your favorite food, what's your job, how old are you, and what are your hobbies?” I silently scream at all the questions at once. I whisper the words ‘ok.. speed run time’ and sit up for my answers. “Favorite food is takoyaki, I work at a boring sandwich shop, I'm 19, and I like to do paint ball. I don't have much time for hobbies, to be honest,” I reply, knowing that I'm probably sweating like crazy. Summer continues to ask me many questions, and after a while decides we're done. “Well, that's a wrap!! You won! take this money with you back home,” she walks up to me and releases me from my binds of tape. I go to grab the bag of cash, but then realize this could be some kind of Persephone pomegranate thing. “Uh.. no thanks!!” I whimper and I run away. I hear her and others shouting for me, but I pull out my phone, exit the ad, and I'm soon back in the swirl of colors. The next thing I know, I'm back in the restaurant and it's somehow the same exact time as I left. “Guess I nodded off for a second…” I whusper to myself, and decide I'll never click an online ad ever again.

daily of march 18th (617 words) ~

Ayumi stepped off the bullet train onto the hard concrete of Tokyo. She was very excited to come see her grandparents. She was also a bit nervous, since her Japanese was quite rusty, and she hadn't really gone to Duolongi in the past few days to review what she needed to say. What made her most nervous of all, though, was that she had yet to come out to her Grandmother and Grandmother. AND she had to do so in Japanese since they didn't know much English. I mean, they knew a bit but not to have a detailed conversation. She rehearsed some of her harder words on the walk from the main city to the less populated area. Once she arrived at her grandparents' door, she took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. She saw her short そぼ walk up to the door and open it. “子にちわ!おはいりください、おはいりください!!” she beckoned to Ayumi, and widened the door. She politely hung up her jacket and slid off her flip flops for the warm summer and walked inside to the dining room. Ayumi sits down and clears her throat. “あなたに伝えたいことがあります、” she announced, quite nervous. She knew her grandparents were modern, but she wasn't sure they would accept her despute that. She took a deep breath in and out. “ゆりです、” she said, trying hard to hold back tears. Her grandparents looked up at her and smiled. “あゆみ、大丈夫だよ!私たちはいつだって、君を受け入れるから、” her ソフト replied, and stood up to give her a hug. Ayumi started to actually cry this time, but tears of joy instead of anxiety. She had a wonderful time the rest of her trip to Japan, traveling across all over the country and trying many new and unique things! She had such a wonderful time that was wonderful because of her bravery with her grandparents, and she even got to go see Magical Mirai!! Yes, she came at this time just for this. Classic Ayumi. Heh. She even convinced her grandparents to come with her!! Well, sort of. She got them to watch a few songs with the power of Fecatime. She was quite exhausted from quite a few hours of bouncing up and down for a concert with hologram singers performing on a piece of glass, so she left during the last song to try to avoid the overwhelming crowd of people leaving after the finale. Yet she couldn't go, because when she heard the start of the finale song, Static, she just HAD to stay. I mean, when would she ever be able to hear her favorite artist's songs live again?? She powered through her tiredness and jumped and screamed and sang through that final song as much as possible, using every muscle in her body to propel her jumping and arm flailing as much as she could. After those three minutes, she was quite out of breath and decided to wait for everybody to clear out and then leave. She texted her geandmother to pick her up, and in about thirty minutes of waiting everyone left the stadium and her grandma had arrived. Ayumi got in, sighed, and looked up to her そぼ. “ありがと、” she said. Her 祖母 just chuckled and started driving them back to the house. Ayumi closed her eyes once they got going and took a nap. By the time she finished her small power nap, they had arrived back at the house. This was definitely going to be a trip that was going to go down in history for Ayumi as one of her best vacations ever. A few days later, she waved goodbye to her そぼとそふ and got in a cab. “じゃあね!” she called out as the taxi started heading to the train station.

I love magical realism as a genre!! My main genre that I write in actually is magical realism, and I put it highest in my preferred cabins on my application, actually! Sadly, I didn't get in, but that was probably because it's so COOL. ACK. I love your little dragon guys and the chibi style pfps you guys made, too! Also, the art for all the banners is SO COOL? LIKE, HELLO!? I could never make a backdrop like you guys did!! I hope you all have fun with SWC and that it'a fun!!!

cyberpunk -
You guys are SO COOL WHAT?? First of all, cyberpunk in itself is really cool, whether it's taken in the context of writing, art, or styles!! Second, your guys' PFPS AND BANNERS AND EVERYTHING!? GENUINELY WHOEVER MAKES ALL THOSE, TEACH ME YOUR WAYS. I wish you a good season of SWC, and that you all have fun participating!!!

Also, small compliment for @129Waterfall - You are such an amazing singer what?? I love your covers and stuff, and the idea of vocal vanguards is so cool!! I entered by the way and did kinda bad haha, but back to your cabin itself . I know I already said this, but I find that the fact that the storyline is kind of like an inserted fanfic is really cool!! I hope you also a good season of SWC, and that you, too, have fun along the way!!!

summer's swc stuff!! :)

bidaily for march 20th and 21st~

day one:
The garden was where we had met
But in fear, away I dashed.
You not liking me something I couldn't let
Happen so I was gone in a flash.
I tripped over somebody's pet
Sadly though, which I then mashed.
I had to not bet
On it, but away I splashed.
This date was something I'd set
But it ended in this relationship being ash.

This may have a bit of wordplay,
But this story is about a blue jay.
A bird that suffered through a doomsday.
It spent it's morning drinking earl grey
and then went to the ballet,
but it realized it was all childs-play.
It flew through the gateway
and then shouted “Oy vey!”
Then it's flight went stray
and landed it in blood bay.

After so many tries at romance,
this time I thought I had a chance.
This one was a wonder,
a long spiral of pure love.
I saw a sign of a passing dove,
but I was much under
what happened after.
Our laughter
fell asunder
and it was happening all over again.

day two (619 words):
I look back on the memories of me as a small infant nestling myself into your arms, giggling at your songs you sang to me. If only then I'd known what a terrible mistake it was to listen to the words of those twisted webs of lies that sprung out of your mouth. I eventually found out your secret from stumbling upon your room when you weren't home. That I wasn't your child, that you had actually found me in the room of a mansion you had robbed of its' riches. I had run away after I confronted you, tears welling uncontrollably in my eyes. I slept under the wet leaves of an oak tree in the rain that night. I decided to bury all my belongings and gifts that came from you in a grave of sorts. I let down the dirt back on top of all the things after I had finished making an arrangement of sorts. I sprinted as far away from that cottage in the woods afterwards. As far away as I could get from you. I didn't know where I'd go, just knew I had to get away. Eventually, that led me here: the dry desert with hardly any rain a month. I look across the horizon and can almost see my reflection in the setting sun. I grab some spare clothing I have and roll it up into a ball I typically use as a pillow. Sometimes I consider running back, forgetting all of the pain that's been caused by you. But then I remember that you never truly loved me and that people always think I'm boring. Especially you. I close my eyes and breath a sigh of exhaustion and relief. Everything slowly drifts away as I tumble down into sleep…
The next morning I sit up in the sand and yawn loudly. I reach out my arms to stretch and then stand up to prepare myself for the long day ahead of me. I hope to someday find a play to go to and settle, or maybe even find my original and real home with my true parents that loved me. I trek for hours in the harshly warm conditions of the plains of pure sand and cacti, not spying anything of the sorts of a village or house or even a building. I topple down onto the dunes, out of breath and severely dehydrated. I grab my flask from my satchel but it's empty when I try to take a sip. “*..” I mumble to myself, desperately in need of a drink. “Can I help you?” asks a deep and booming voice from behind me. I quickly whip my head around to see a tall man with scruffy dark curls and pointy ears wearing a long, dark cloak stands above me. He reaches out his hand to help me up. There's a large scar in the shape of a scratch from a large animal on his hand. I let him pull me up and thank him. I beg him to let me borrow his flask, and he happily obliges. I gasp for air whilst gulping down the water and then look up to go thank him as much as I possibly can. When I do, though, I watch him drift away in a wave of sand. I go to try to feel him, but my hand phases right through him. I gasp and open my eyes to see that. I'm still on the ground with no supplies at all. My eyes start to blink closed, and I get quite dizzy and lightheaded. My consciousness starts to slip away, and I know that this is the end of my escape plan.

summer's swc stuff!! :)

weekly 3 ~

part one (204 words):
In the year 3472, AI has no place in human society. It is it's own society in itself. Back in the year 3000, what everybody had originally thought would happen all the way in the ancient times of 2000 which was called ‘Y2K’ happened in the worst way it possibly could. AI advanced at terrifyingly rapid speeds. One day they'd only make small pngs of fluffy animals and the next they'd be able to generate full movie series within the span of minutes. Unlike most people, big companies saw this as an opportunity to make big bucks instead of seeing it as the start of a robot apocalypse. They made new models, made them artificial bodies so they could walk and talk. The original programmers tried to warn the heads of the companies, but they continued messing with these ‘super AIs’ despite their warnings of danger and manipulation. They even renamed the bots to AIHs, or ‘artificially intelligent humans’. Yes, they were so highly developed and powerful that they were considered enhanced human beings. Everything started to become overtaken by these newly evolved beings and creatures of power and intelligence. These are the AIHs. This is the robot apocalypse that happened under everybody's noses.

part two (314 words):
Nowadays, not many humans actually care about their lives. Some just sit on the couch consistently, literally having never moved in their life. Some people were actually born on their couches, given that not many move at all. AIHs had their own lives up on the surface of the planet, having jobs and going about ordinary human lives instead of just being stationary machines as they once were. They have kids and families, make friends, earn paychecks, everything. The humans took to the underground in a state of emergency when the AIHs were starting to fully take over, fearing that they'd eventually start to rebel and turn violent. This eventually turned out to be true, and any humans left living up on the surface were brutally taken care of by strong AIHs. Deep in the caves of the underground, though, there assembles a small group of rebels forming to finally rid of the AIHs. However, this rebellion has now existed for centuries and it's numbers are slowly dwindling. Many people don't want to be endangered by being in the rebellion and try to make a new society for themselves beneath the society of the AIHs, but more so just live in denial of what happens on the surface than actually having true happiness. More and more people are lost to the rebellion, and more and more go to that life of safe denial where they think that they're happy. Despite how bad it sounds, there is a diverse culture of people from around the world in what they call “Earth's Basement”. There's marketplaces, museums, temples, everything of the sort that you'd say is culture. They really aren't living bad lives. They just feel guilty about letting some robots take over their native homes that they come from. Their ancestors lived there, and some are willing to risk their lives to get that land back.

part three (686 words):
I stand up from the cold, hard ground and shake my head. Did it really work? Was I able to teleport through space and time to get to the past? I look around to find a person to ask. I turn around and jump at the sight of a woman with a t-shirt and some baggy pants I've never seen before in my life. It's at this time I'm sure of the fact I've somehow pulled this off, but I still need to check. “Uh, hi! Please excuse me, but could you tell me what year and time it is? Sorry to bother you,” I laugh nervously at the stranger. “Uh, ok? It's the year 2034, and it's 3:19 pm,” she tells me, saying it like this is completely normal for somebody to ask what year it is. That's just how she says it, though, her face looks extremely puzzled unlike the sound of her words. “Thank you so much! Uh, good day to you ma'am!” I shout to her and run off. I look around to take in my surroundings of where I am. There's lots of tall trees with red and orange leaves around me and I gasp in awe of the beautiful plants I've never been able to see. I go to look up farther, but shield my eyes from a bright ball of light floating in the sky. That must be the sun!! The 2000s really were amazing… if only things could have stayed like this. Then I make the realization that I'm not able to come home. That was part of the agreement of coming here. Can't go back to where I used to be… well I guess I live here now! Not like my parents will miss me much back home. I take a quick job through this place. I'm pretty sure it's a park, just one with real flora and fauna unlike the artificial stuff we had back home. I stop to take a wonderful deep breath of the remarkably fresh air and then get back to moving again. I soon come upon a brick bridge and a lake with many small creatures, such as a small, green, slimy blob with large eyes with horizontal slits for eyes. Another has a long slim body with small scales along it's whole body. I can hardly see it, though, since it's beneath the water and moving quite quickly. The last one that's close enough for me to spot details is a slow creature with a cape of solid shell wrapping around it almost completely. I sit down on the edge of the bridge and stare out at the lake, wonderstruck, for a few minutes. I start to get a bit overheated and decide to try to find a place in the shade to stay at for a bit. I reach down into my pocket to make sure I still have the bag of tortilla chips I took with me. To my relief, I hear the crinkling of the half eaten snack. I jog a bit farther to the largest tree I've seen yet, and slide down against the trunk onto the grass. I take the bag out of my pocket and crunch on the food for a while. A person passes by and turns back around to look at me. “Oh my goodness, are you okay? You seem quite scratched up,” the person says, which strikes me with the memory that I was being chased by AIHs before I sped to get in the time machine. I also tripped while on the run, and I look down at my ruined, worn out clothes. “Oh. Um. Yes, please,” I reply, slightly embarrassed of my current physical state. I also start to feel a sharp burn in my knee, reminding me of the intense scrape I earned in my stumble. “Ellie! My name's Ellie, sorry. Haha,” she tells me nervously, and reaches out her hand to me. I grab it and she helps me to her house where she wraps a bandage around my knee. I think I'll like the year 2034.

part four (970 words):
I sit down with the mysterious hooded figure that's been following me through the city for the past few days. “So, why do you need me? I'm quite busy,” I tell them. I'm not actually busy, I just want to continue my own business since this is probably a waste of time. “If you're so busy, I won't bother you. I was going to offer you something, though,” the person mumbles. They aren't even looking at me. “Fine, but make it quick,” I grumble. They pull off their cloak and toss it down onto the table in front of us. I peer up at the person to see a tall woman with long locks that reach down to her ankles. She has a long scar crossing her face and is wearing a ragged button-up shirt along with a pair of jeans. She stands up in her thigh high boots that raise her up even taller a decent six inches. She puts her hands down onto the table. “I know a way you can go back to how it was,” she declares. I slim my eyes and make eye contact with her. There's no way she could have actually found a way to get rid of the AIHs… right? That's impossible… it's got to be!! “Yeah, sure. How would I be able to fix this? Or whatever you said is somehow possible? Who even are you?” I sigh. She's probably just trying to make profit off of me. “And why are you choosing me for this in the first place, anyways,” I mumble as my eyes start to veer away to the window of the small booth we're sitting in. “First of all, I've discovered an ancient time machine from centuries ago that was hidden away by the AIHs. Despite that, though, I was able to power it up so that it's usable. Second of all, my name's Jane,” she tells me. I whip my head back around to our conversation. “What? I don't see how that's possible. And still, why would you choose me?” I ask the strange woman, curious on her motive. “You didn't let me finish. Impatient, I see,” she chuckles as she puts her head down into her hand. “Reminds me of myself when I was your age. Just wanting to get away from the horrors of this hiding spot in an endless game of hide and seek. I chose you because you're young, unlike me. Also, I think you'd fit in with the people from that time all those years ago. You have a chance of stopping the AIs from evolving into what they are now, and even if you fail, I'll have you go to a time in which you're able to tell your descendants to stop them too. Hurry now, we don't have much time before I'm found out,” she orders to me. She stands up and hurries to the exit. I swiftly follow, questions running through my head. Why me out of all young people? Will I be able to stop the AIs from transforming? Will the time machine even work? I shake my head to try to stop my head from overloading. Jane stays silent as we travel, and so do I. She takes me up to the rooftops of the underground city and we duck down into a hatch on top of one of the buildings. I jump down to find a large swirling portal of sorts that the woman walks through. I hesitate for a minute, but dash through to the other side. I freeze in my place as I see what's ahead of us. Ten large AIHs hover in front of us. “*. They've found where I was hiding the machine. I'll handle these guys, you just run to the other side, don't look back, and get in the big tube. You'll know what I mean when you get there,” she mumbles to me. She dashes ahead and starts to battle the bots, and I follow her instructions and speed across the large room as fast as I can. I start to run out of breath running as fast as I am, but I keep going. All of a sudden, my feet slide out from under me and I feel a cold squeeze around my ankle as I'm lifted upside-down into the air. “Uh, Jane? Could use a bit of backup here!! Thanks!” I yell out as I continue to be lifted up. The robot uses their other arm and starts to strangle me. This isn't good. All my blood is rushing down to my head, and I can't see clearly. It takes about a minute, but just as I start to black out, I start to fall back down onto the ground as I spot Jane crash into the robot's torso. I hit the ground hard, and gasp for air. I cough for a second, and then get back up and sprint to the stairs that lead to a platform with a large glass tube with a metal bottom and top. I hear Jane yell out in pain, but I don't look back as she told me to. I get in and press the ‘on’ button. The machine loudly announces “Power now on.” I see Jane run up the stairs and lock herself into the keypad next to the capsule I'm currently in. A large shield phases upward and knocks all the AIHs back onto the ground. The tube phases closed as the time machine starts to make a loud hum. “Transportation occurring in ten seconds,” the speakers announce. I take deep breathes and see Jane mouth the words ‘good luck’ to me as a large flash of light presents itself to me. I tumble down through a swirl of many different colors as everything slowly fades away…

summer's swc stuff!! :)

daily for march 23rd (363 words)~

i got a bit goofy with this hehe

Erin looked up at the old mysterious wizard sitting a giant throne made up of polished stones that was towering above her in the cave. “Uh, could you maybe tell me why I'm here? I was kind of just teleported here without consent,” she grumbled, frustrated at the fact that now she couldn't play board games with her family that evening. He ignored her and pointed up to the ceiling. “You must channel your powers through your leg by the fourth dawn or the world will eNdDdDdDdDdD…” he shouted down to her. She tried stomping her foot down on ground and nothing happened. “Yeah, no, I think you've got the wrong person,” she yelled back to the old man. “CHANNEL YOUR POWERS BY THE FOURTH DAWN OR THE WORLD WILL ENDDDDD!!!!” he screamed and looked up. He soon brought his head back down and pointed to the ceiling of the cave. There was a large, old engraving of a girl in what looked like a tornado of rainbow mist (woa) that was floating up in the air. To her surprise, the girl had lots of resemblance to Erin. “CHANNEL. YO. POWERS, OR WORLD. BE DEAD,” the old shouted once again, practically screeching at this point. Erin was about to ask the man a question about what the heck he meant by all this, or why she was somehow the ‘chosen one’ or something (which seemed quite like what he was adding up to), or maybe even why she was here in the first place. But the guys kinda like faded into mist and the cave started to collapse. “Great. GREAT. GREATTT!!! Now I have no idea where I am AND have a chance of getting toppled on by boulders that're falling like dominoes,” she yelled in pure anger. She took a deep breath and raced as fast as she possibly could to the opening of the towering cave. Narrowly escaping, she fell down onto the ground, gasping for air after her speedy trek. “Guess I'll have to figure this out for my self then,” she whisper-mumbled to herself as she stood up and set out for her journey as the apparent ‘chosen one’.
