Scratch is already child friendly were there is not much to block people from. if a parent does not what their child to use these features they should use the offline editor. On my device (My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.7, Safari 18.1.1, No Flash version detected) I can’t get it

Some parents may not want their child to have access to some functions of scratch (for example: commenting, using the forums, sharing projects, and loving/favoriting.) So if a parent wants their child to be able to use scratch, but not interact with the community except for viewing and remixing projects, they could enable it. Or if the parent doesn’t want their kid to use the forums, they could set it to block the forums (because of things like bullying.) It think it could be located in the account settings and be locked with a email or 4 digit passcode (like IOS.) I started this topic because lots of my friends wanted to join scratch but their parents didn’t want them to access some features relating to the community. When I first started using scratch (about 2 years ago) I wasn’t allowed to use the forums. The scratch team already takes care of stuff inappropriate for kids.
This feature may increase the size of the community and may make scratch better for kids 7 and up.
Btw please have a reason why you support/don’t support it.
say [No support, sorry.]

a parent paranoid enough to turn on parental controls on a kids' oriented site shouldn't let their kid have internet access in the first place. No support.

How does this invalidate my post? The main devices you'd use for Scratch have offline editors. iOS has Scratch Jr, and while Linux doesn't have one, 99% of the people that use Linux aren't children that need parental controls.(#447)untrue again, only four device's have an offline editor and they are windows 10+, mac OS 10.13+ Chromebook and android tablet 6.0+yes yes yes because some device's don't have an offline editorUntrue. Basically you are suggesting something that already exists.

Making a mock-up of this just so that we get to see what this would look like.

The Parent/Child Account Would See This:

The child can view/request changes to their account.
This is what the parent would be able to do:

This is what would happen if the child spends too long on scratch

Support! Very useful to keep parent or guardian's children safe online. Also for the people who are just saying ‘'NO!’' this is just to keep kids safe you know. As well as the people who are saying ‘'No support Scratch is already safe’' stuff can still get through the filter and i do see more people getting into dumb arguments and cyberbullying and parents most likely don't want their child to be in that mess so this is a great suggestion to help stop cyberbullying mostly on ages 12 and under. Also for the people who are saying ‘'Just use the offline editor’' what about kids who need high contrast blocks since the editor is outdated?

Not true what if some parents want their child to share and love and fav without commenting or posting in the forums? Some parents may not want their child to have access to some functions of scratch (for example: commenting, using the forums, sharing projects, and loving/favoriting.) Support, this can keep children safe on Scratch (if they already don't have parental restrictions on their devices), and the mockups provided by snoopythe3 can be implemented on Scratch. If used for schools, they can control how much time students can be on Scratch, albeit few schools assign students to make projects to share on Scratch.

As well as the people who are saying ‘'No support Scratch is already safe’' stuff can still get through the filterHow will parental controls stop people from getting around the filter? A better solution that will help more people will be to update the filter and begin blacklisting workarounds people have created for blocked words.
and i do see more people getting into dumb arguments and cyberbullying and parents most likely don't want their child to be in that messNobody is forcing the child to respond to people commenting to them. If the parent doesn't want their kid talking with other people, then the parent can have a talk with their child about it.
Also for the people who are saying ‘'Just use the offline editor’' what about kids who need high contrast blocks since the editor is outdated?Wouldn't a better solution just be to update the online editor?

Look, I’m a demiboy and aroace, but I’m not out to my parents yet.
Like, I don’t want them snooping around my account!
I’d just like a bit of privacy, and that suggestion would restrict that.
