I feel like we should have the ability to enable/disable the ‘Remix’ button, because sometimes when you post a project people remix it without changing anything or remix it badly and it makes you SUPER frustrated, but other times you want to see what people can do with your project and get creative. I think this absolutely should be a feature because of those reasons and it will help me and other scratchers as well as future scratchers too. Please add in this feature!!!!

This is causing a big problem for teachers using Scratch with their students. Students were able to use a school supplied google account to create their scratch account. However, although this google account looks like an e-mail address (blah@city.k12.ma.us), it does not actually have an email associated with it. We cannot ask an 11 or 12 year old to make an e-mail account just to be able to work on Scratch – parents would not be happy. Also, parents do not want to have to approve every share a student does in Scratch in order for me, the teacher, to be able to see, and grade, their work.
Ever since the web-based version of Scratch has arrived we have been promised that there would be some features for teachers to more easily work with Scratch in their classes. We haven't yet seen them and now, with this update, we have actually gone backwards. We need a fix quickly – one of my fellow teachers has assigned a project and none of her students can share their work with her. I have another round of students starting on March 24 and I will need a solution before then or we will have to consider moving to another programming platform.
Please rethink this update and provide teachers with a way to use Scratch with young students who might not have an e-mail account. We don't need them to be able to share their project with the world - just with us and their peers in the classroom for peer testing.
Thank you,
Ms. Moore
