Hello! My favorite book series are Percy Jackson, The Unwanteds, and Keeper of the Lost Cities! I've read all of the books. I like the forums, and I'm working on a game about time travel called Time Warp: Guardians of History.

Here's a Scratch Partners studio you can join if you're new OR if you want to help out someone new!

28 million out of 4.66 billion people, if we're looking at the same source. That is 0.6% of people — not very many.

They will have to use a different Internet browser. That's just the way of life.

Well I'm not sure, but I bet that at least ½ of the 28 million people only have IE.
Scratch should atleast have an alternate solution.

Why not just install a different browser? It is not worth it to keep legacy systems like this alive.

IE doesn't support many of the features required for Scratch 3.0 to work. If you want to use Scratch on IE, download it.
The fact is, those 28 million people need to use a different browser.

IE Not Supported [UPDATED]

Microsoft dropped support for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge has replaced it. It's not Scratch's fault that IE doesn't work on Scratch, it uses features that IE doesn't support. However, the forums work, so I decided to post this using Internet Explorer. (It's not completely gone from Windows 11, with a simple VBScript you can launch it)

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0 (Windows 11 23H2), Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0, No Flash version detected

Internet Explorer is still part of older versions of Windows 10. Chances are, people aren't using it, since Windows 10 includes Microsoft Edge and they're probably using a different browser. According to StatCounter, IE has less than 1% of browser market share, and it's not even on the chart anymore. At the end of 2020, it had only 2% of browser market share.

And Scratch does have an alternate solution. It's called the offline editor. You can download it here: https://scratch.mit.edu/download

Hello from IE! My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0, No Flash version detected

Scratch relies on technologies that Internet Explorer doesn't support, so this is not possible.

Signatures are the only place where assets links still work.

You can play projects on scratch players like turbowarp and forkphorus.

True. In addition, Chrome maintains legacy launchers- going back to Windows XP (if I recall correctly, since I'm on an iPad I can't actually verify that at the moment)

Scratch 2.0 styled pages work on Internet Explorer because they are Scratch 2.0. They would be able to log in, create an account, verify their email address, access their My Stuff, change their settings, use the forums, and edit their profile. They would NOT be able to search the website (though this can be done through Google using `site:scratch.mit.edu`), read messages, create or view projects and studios, visit the home or explore pages, or visit any other Scratch 3.0 styled page.

It's possible project compilers such as TurboWarp and ForkPhorus might run on IE, but this is not guarenteed. As for TurboWarp, it seems to heavily rely on Scratch 3 UI elements, so I'm guessing it will not work. However, I haven't tested either in Internet Explorer.

The Scratch offline editor is made in Electron, which is based of Chromium. If the user can't install a version of Chrome that supports Scratch 3 on their OS, then the offline editor will most not likely be able to be installed (Electron is newer than the Chromium engine)

There is a JavaScript interpreter written in JavaScript, and it can be used to run ES6 code on older browsers (such as IE) however I'm not sure how hard that would be to be implemented into Scratch, and that could also possibly cause other compatibility issues.

Your question is why. The answer is "why should they?" Do you know how much insane amount of work that would take?
