why dont Scratch projects support WebP?

why dont Scratch projects support WebP?

Because the developers didn't add support for WebP.

why dont Scratch projects support WebP?

It's less popular than JEPG,PNG etc. which is probably why they didn't include support for it. Shouldn't be too much of a problem though.

They actually (kinda) did; if you rename a .webp file to another extension like .png (even if you don't convert it!), it'll import and work fine (at least on Firefox).

Try renaming the file through the file manager to png.


OR

I haven't tried this, but try going to the image through a file url
eg file/path/to/image
Then right click -> save as -> change the extension of the file to png
