I had to deal with a nasty, NASTY stalker offsite and on, and he followed me here, and I had to make a new account just to avoid him.

He found the new account and followed that, so I had to leave Scratch entirely until the Scratch team responded to my “Contact us” email(which took almost two weeks). I think a blocking option could have prevented this happening.

Blocking can help victims of cyberbullying feel a little more safe(as they wait for the Scratch Team to answer), and less harm could be done by the perpetrator towards the victim. Should a bystander catch the perpetrator's comments, they can still report them(If you've blocked the perpetrator, their comments won't show up for you, but they will show up for other people, so they can still report)

But then again, the bully could make alt accounts

Try to refrain from saying, ‘No support’. It comes off as extremely negative. “The forums are for criticism! Don't post it you don't want it!” Agreed. But I never said that you should agree with everyone. No suggestion will ever be perfect

In #1, you didn't help OP at all. You said you didn't like it, and why. Nothing else. Not even what was causing the issue of spam
In #2, you pointed out the flaws and the root causes of them. Flaws shouldn't always get a suggestion absolutely ignored

And simply supporting doesn't always help either. It's not a voting system, it's improving your ideas. There's going to be cons, there's going to be flaws, and that's the point of the suggestions. No suggestion is ever 100% perfect in any way
Here are some things you can look out for:
-Are there any flaws/cons that haven't been addressed or fixed?
-Is this idea fully flushed out? Or are there some questions you can ask?
-Are there any flaws that you know how to fix or do you know how to flush something out a bit more?
-Is there anyone else who is confused and needs some clarification?

If you don't have to do any of these, then you can move on!

Is a suggestion unable to be added because it's just impossible? Point out why and have them decide what to do next
But still, try not to say ‘no support’

Bumping a post is a way to put it on the front page of whatever forum it's in. It is often done by people who think a topic deserves more attention, or in the HwS and QaS forums, if someone hasn't gotten a satisfactory answer to their question.
Also, I support this. It could reduce spam and mean comments because people would just realize that the user who they are trying to spam/offend can't see their comments anymore.

what about a timed block? where they user being blocked is not notified how long the block will last or when the block is off, and each block would report them again, this could help with the issue of burying and still give the user time to not deal with the comments. the block length should probably be until the account logs off and log back in, that way no rude comments could be made while the user is offline; if the user does not log in/out, it could also measure how long ago the last activity from that account was, from checking their messages, or leaving a comment, to posting a project. and then count the next activity as them “logging in”. it could also be implemented in a way that requires you to have reported comments prior, or select reasoning, or the comments that lead to you blocking the user. the block report idea is a good one if implemented properly but the original idea is still better than nothing. have a good day ( ‘ v’)b
