Great idea! Impersonation is much less likely this way. Cause if there weren’t the extra steps, for example @scratcher1 could say they moved to @scratcher2 when in reality they aren’t @scratcher2, and then on the @scratcher1 account pretend to be @scratcher2.

thanks, but i've actually improved this even more to be more secure. i realized that with that system, it wasn't actually that secure. the reason being, if, let's say scratchcat's password is leaked, then there's nothing stopping @exampleuser from just entering scratchcat's password a bunch of times and saying he moved to @scratchcat.

so here's a new version which is much, much more secure, but is also slightly less user-convenient

Yeah if I'm on vacation I don't want people to say “Scratchedbyyou could be banned!” or “Scratchedbyyou left scratch forever!”

Of course I could always announce I'm on vacation, but most of the ways to do it always have one or more cons.

This wouldn't be that bad, the only thing I can see a problem with is that it hides the stuff inside What I've Been Doing, which can be fixed by adding a button to see it.

Maybe this suggestion could be considered, that way there could also be another message. (No mockup sorry!)

I feel like it should too. But anyways, this is perfect for those who are going inactive on accounts that people no longer need.

Support because this would help users know the person is inactive, and tell them that they haven't been active since so said date or year.
