Delete GDPR accounts

I have seen a GDPR account before that had forum posts, a profile picture, a featured project (although it was unshared), favorite projects, and followers (that original user’s alt account that, via a project, provided the name of the original main, stating that they were going to GDPR it).

To make this less likely to happen, I think that accounts should be renamed to @gdpr (followed by a number or characters) like they currently are, but then the GDPR account page should be hidden and redirected to a 404 page (like a deleted account).

no support, GDPR accounts are authentic and nostalgic, this would make a lot of Scratch enthusiasts mad

European law and privacy prioritizes how “cool” something is. I don't see how GDPR accounts are authentic or nostalgic (it's just a deleted account).

Support because deleted accounts are supposed to be deleted, even if done via GDPR as you don't want your information sticking around even though you want all of it deleted, especially if done via GDPR, which is supposed to erase everything related to a user.

Everything below the grey line right above is my signature. By the way, my signature isn't related to my post in case you didn't know.

They weren't actually made in 2000. The join date is set to January 1, 2000, to keep the actual join date hidden.

Basically (to my understanding): if someone in the European Union wants to have their account information completely wiped, with (almost) no trace remaining, the Scratch Team needs to set their account to a GDPR account, effectively erasing (almost) all comments, projects, forum posts, etc. from the website, not even to be visible by the Scratch Team (citation needed). As said above, this is why the join date is January 1st 2000: to keep the actual join date hidden.

Oh, that makes sense. Thanks.

To op: I support. There’s really no reason not to, if someone in the EU wants their account wiped then im sure they’d want the page deleted as well.

according to the wiki, that’s a data glitch. The posts aren’t supposed to be there.

i'd say partial support because i do think it's kind of odd that the gdpr profiles are even there. that said, it might be that way for a reason. i haven't studied up on it in a while, but it is entirely possible that with the way the eu worded it or something, gdpr accounts have to be visible but censored on scratch in compliance with the gdpr laws.

on an unrelated note, i took a course online once briefly explaining how gdpr works. i gotta say, the eu absolutely nailed it. it's an amazing, wonderful system to remove oneself from the internet and keep everyone's data safe, and unfortunately only the eu gets it. (or any outside countries/states/provinces/whatever that want to try to do roughly the same thing, like for example california's online privacy laws.) that said, i hear it's incredibly obnoxious for those who actually make the websites, since they have to work around it. good for the consumer, bad for the seller.
