Easiest way is opening the cartridge with a triwing screwdriver, but most people don't have those so the other methods are recommended.

Test how good your computer is at doing math. 3DS and Wii U online after shutdown.

Kind of on the same topic; I'd love to see that stuff from the Satellaview F-Zero tournaments added to F-Zero 99. Online play's already there, tournaments probably are, it's perfect. Pretty sure Nintendo still has the old add-on package. If not? Oh well, they can just recreate it same as that cool team who made it into a ROM hack.

I still want to try that hack whenever I think about it. Lost media like that is so interesting, yet so sad. But at least there are people who care about preserving it in some way or another.

The only reason Citra (a 3DS emulator) was taken down was because it was connected to Yuzu, which was being used to play and distribute leaked Switch games. The whole project was shutdown (with cooperation of the team who made it). So I don't think they really care much about 3DS games anymore.
