Remove "Suggestions" topic in forums (ironic, right?)

Basicly none of the suggestions get added (not speaking for myself) and scratch updates once every 8.2 years to change colors purple or something like that.

Most suggestions focus on large scale addons or features. Scratch tends to only add small QOL features from time to time (which i get because it's not like scratch is an unfinished project or something. Its a fairly polished coding site that doesn't really need big changes)

Also when have you seen a suggestion get added? Maybe a couple times? If one did get added, please comment cus I would like to know (genuine). It also seems like the community had little to no impact to updates in the past few years.

no support.
i feel the suggestions page is important. it gives users a place to give constructive criticism.
also, i actually made a topic asking your same question.

Well I don't personally believe scratch takes much of this “constructive criticism” into thought. They often just close posts and say an unrelated excuse. When someone suggests a code block, they say “there is a workaround”, which I get, but at the same time doesn't “glide to (x)(y)” block have a simple workaround? I'm not saying this specific code block is a problem but I hope you get my point.

It doesn't really make sense and they add suggestions very rarely.

Suggestions is made for Scratch Team to gather feedback for new features, there's no point to remove it.

Yes, but it seems like the community has little to no impact to the updates in the past few years.

removing the forum will make that impact far smaller.

you think so? i feel it's one of the more complex blocks scratch offers, but that might just be me. anyways, back on track…
it would be incredibly difficult for a beginner to create such a workaround, which is why the block exists. scratch is a mid-level programming language, meaning there are some workarounds for some blocks, which makes it such a good choice for beginners.

the st's job is hard. no matter how easy you think a suggestion might be to implement, it's actually much harder than you would think.
st has their hands full, according to how many pull requests and issues there are on their github page. there's just no time, i suppose.

I think Scratch doesn't pay that much attention to suggestions Sure there are many suggestions, but there are repeating suggestions that are obvious the community really wants implimented into scratch, and it feels like Scratch just decided to make a seperate topic and left it alone.

“The editor and project pages were updated to Scratch 3.0, with a new look and design, new extensions, and many other changes.” They can afford to completely rework the scratch coding layout but can't afford to add a couple suggestions that has been repeatedly asked by the community? They might have added one or two updates that has been mentioned in “suggestions”, but I don't believe that if this topic got removed, scratch would change at all.

what about all these

doesn't mean scratch team wants them implemented.

it's not about if they can afford it or not, it's how important it is.
but I don't believe that if this topic got removed, scratch would change at all.
so why bother removing it?

Actually they do change it frequently, from bug changes in the discussion forums to a better policy, As many of scratchers know the discussion forums were closed for around a week, because they were improving it because more people were reporting that people are misusing the forums. Plus, without the suggestion forum, you wouldn’t even be posting this. The suggestion forum is for improving the experience for others and yourself.

Hey! I see it ^^^

I think that the Suggestions forum serves a valuable purpose whether we read every suggestion or not. It lets people exercise their creativity on Scratch itself - and experiment (mentally) with some of the ramifications of their ideas. We've gotten a number of good ideas from the Suggestions forum - and even the ones we don't implement give us a feeling for what is causing aggravation in the Community - very helpful!

So I think we'll be keeping Suggestions - thanks for your feedback though.

It was added at one point, but I was asked to remove it (by a Scratcher) because it was not suggested often. If you make a post on the TOLORS thread reminding me of this, I can reconsider.
