Why did Scratch remove the anchor point in the costumes tab?

I was always wondering why Scratch did that, I found out about the anchor point in the 2.0 offline editor!

they didn't
they did - They mean there was a button that changed the center of the costume, which is still in 1.4 even:

(The 2 vertical and horizontal lines mark the center, which can be dragged, note that this is only visible if you click “Change center” which I underlined, please don't mind it being in hungarian lol)

EDIT: As for OP, probably because 2.0 was made using Smalltalk/Squeak - 3.0 is made with Javascript if I recall correctly.

I thought 2.0 was made with Flash and 1x was made using Smalltalk/Squeak.

That's a bamboozle. 2.0 was made using ActionScript (Adobe Flash), but it was Scratch 1.4 (and earlier) that was made using Squeak.

If you mean the set costume center, not sure why exactly since I think they added functionality for this somehow at some point in 3.0 but I don't think they reimplemented the button, and yea.

judging by the scratch-gui github i highly doubt the functionality even exists
also again 2.0 was made differently than 3.0 was
same with 1.4

I know that, but I could've sworn that the costume center page said something about setting the costume center in 3.0.
