There's a reason why there's “homepage” on the topic name. I hope you understand that this being a public chatroom is implied with this word.

That again, I'm not sure if the ST could take another communication medium to moderate on. Besides, we already have studios and forums, so having another place to chat on is probably not the best idea.

Griffpatch's profile is closed right now, and is closed somewhat often.

PROS:
- Easier to moderate
- Could be a fun feature to have

CONS:
- Might be useless
- Way too much activity
- Would take up space
- Lots of spam and troll attacks

au contraire. If this acts like a comment section, then it will add additional work for the ST. if it's like a live stream chat, not only will it strain the servers, a moderator will have to be on at all times. We already have studios and projects and profiles to chat on.

There are over a million scratcher that are wanting to use griffpatch's profile as a chat room, but is closed.

I give no support and I agree with these people on here, where would it even go to? Just think about it, chat rooms aren't that easy to moderate, and there would be multiple comments on the same page your on if it was ever implemented, and it would clog up memory in Scratch's online servers. I just think that this suggestion isn't a very good idea.

What homepage? Do you mean “profile pages”?
And how would a chatroom work? Is it basically a private chat place?

A homepage is like a useless feature since you could chat in a lot of places (like gwdfi or bwdfi) and plus live chatting is like very very hard since it even got rejected + it's not really easy to moderate for the scratch team. Even if it's a good workaround for when Griffpatch closes comments there is another workaround aka Will_wam's profile though.
