Compress the uploaded image when uploading a profile picture and studio thumbnail
Currently, your pfp size must be 500x500 and less than 500kb. This applies to studios and profile pictures. Some kids may be able to know how to compress their image, so what if you can upload any image, but it will be compressed to fulfill the requirements? This can make uploading images much more accessible.
not talking about the forums btw

I think you should edit the title from “Compress the image when uploading images” to “Compress the uploaded image when uploading a profile picture,” I thought at first you meant to compress ALL images across the site, and that I absolutely do not support lol. I do support compressing the PFP though, I agree that it's tedious to compress it myself.

Support. This would help a lot when l get new pfps because l used to download them from the website to get the PfP.

I support this, although wouldn't it make more sense to make it like a box where you can select a portion? (like in office365 and other websites)

There should be an option to crop it as well, but I don't know if it should be an entirely new topic or part of this suggestion.

Maybe there could be a popup like the one we have, except with a message something similar to this:
“The image you uploaded is too large. Would you like us to upload a compressed version of it?”
with a yes and no button choice next to it.

only support if it just reduces the size to 500x500. Any other compression may cause intended consequences.

I think studio thumbnails are already (horribly and disgustingly) compressed, but not if the file reaches the maximum size.

Maybe it's a functional workaround, but it's a very inconvenient, slow, and annoying workaround
The bitmap editor has its problems, especially wih resizing, you resize anything and it will be compressed horribly. Do you even support any suggestions, or even just slightly show a positive opinion?

(#7)What if it's a gif?
ok
use scratch
resize image

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I give this a 7/10 support. The reason why I mostly support is because I honestly think this is better than using a gif compressor and resizer and uploading it to become very low quality. The reason why I 3/0 don't support is because it may turn into a blur like effect for very big images.
support! procreate currently takes up the most space on my ipad (13 GIGABYTES) and i hate having to add even more just to resize something for a pfp or studio thumbnail that I might just change later. it would be so much quicker and easier to be able to compress it when uploading.
