Hello and welcome to the fan-fiction time travel agency, nov 22! In this project is a basic overview with all the information you'll need for this session, including games, rules and expectations, activities, and other fun (prize?) stuff. to learn about your leaders and other fantastic people that will be part of your journey, head over to the next slide!

Intro to your leaders:
willow . she/her . @Xx_hermione_xX
It is I willow the chaotic- as you may already know I am quite chaotic. I have been apart of the SWC community for around 10 sessions now! I love reading, writing and STEM. Some fandoms that I currently am apart of is, the Hunger Games and Shadowhunters.

Fen . they/them . @green_skyy
Hey, I'm Fen! I've been writing creatively since I was 8, and this is my first session as a co-leader. I rescue animals and have had a lot of pets, and I love using them as inspiration. This will be my 4th session of SWC,and I can't wait for this session!

Bookie . she/her . @booklover883322
Hi! I'm Bookie, a teenage ball of chaos that happens to love writing. I enjoy cooking, eating food, fangirling over fictional characters and reading dystopian novels. I'm so looking forward to my first session as co-leader and 7th(?) session of SWC. Can't wait to write with you all! This SWC is going to be amazing!

Extended Storyline:
You choose to accept the offer, so you follow them through the pristine hallways of the Agency. Willow, Fen and Bookie take their positions beside three doors. You see symbols carved into each of the doors. The Leaders begin calling out names, you hear yours being called out and you follow that leader behind one of the three doors. You look around, it's much more different than the hallways. You notice its obscure and obsolete features. The leader motions for you are your fellow trainees to sit down on chairs that are perfectly aligned in front of a projector. Your leader then stands behind the chairs and turns the projector on. You see an image of an hourglass, which you assume to be the logo of the agency. Your leader then skips to the next slide, she then begins to talk. “Since the beginning of time, the Fan-Fiction Time Travelling Agency has been working behind the scenes to ensure earth's fate is not doomed. For centuries books have been the way of life, containing our ancient history and warning others about the dangers of the world. Books have been a saviour, although some try to ruin earth's fate. This is what the agency is trying to stop. We have outlined some main threats to the earth's fate. The first of many threats is a conjurer, a conjurer who has somehow been taught to use the dark sorcery, they then use this magic to conjure inhuman spirits and trap them in books. These spirits either then spread evil or possess an innocent soul, you may have heard of circumstances like this from horror books you read back on earth. The next is the arsonist, they burn books and take them away from earth's citizens, they then do something horrible such as sending children off to war. The next threat is the pessimist, a person who has a terrible aspect on books. These circumstances aren't a big deal but can still rupture the timeline. They normally teach others to hate books, which leads to protests or mass destruction of books. The next threat is rare but there is another magical threat. Although it is not as rare as the one we must not speak of, it should still be feared. An enchantress/enchanter can change anyone's perspective on books or cause books to disappear. That's the end for now, you will learn more in your journey throughout your time here.” Someone beside you speaks up, “wait- what is the threat we must not speak about?” Your leader does not respond, but instead walks away, then before finally disappearing you hear a voice. “It must not be spoken about.” You all turn in shock only to realize it is another agent. “Well then, follow me as we get you fitted into your uniforms. You will then begin your training! Remember to check your trainee's handbook if you need anything!” You smile as you follow her, but you are still thinking about the threat that must not be spoken about. What is it?

Currency:
The leader who you now can recognize as holds up a small copper object, ♅. It's about the size of your fingernail, and it's coppery, glistening in the light as they speak. You pull out your card where there is a spot in the shape of the ♅. “This,” your leader announced, "Is a millenium. You will each be handed one, as it is a microchip that will fit into your card. It is also our currency, and you can earn it by doing dailies, weeklies, and other in-cabin things. You can use them to buy things from the Supply Department. More info can be found in your division's description.“

What is the Agency?:
The Agency is basically a group of time travelling agents that have a goal to stop threats to books. The Agency was formed in the future when the world ends, they soon discovered the cause to be from the amount of sins committed (to do with books). They then wanted to protect humanity from this dreadful moment. And that is how the Agency was formed. It is your job to join the Agency in their mission to stop this havoc.

About SWC:
Hopefully you have at least a small bit of knowledge on SWC, but just in case, or if you're not totally sure about some things, read this!

For first-timers: things in bold are most likely something you need to know, so don't skip over them!
Also, in the desc there is a full SWC FAQ (made by @pitau) So check that out for EVEN MORE.

Definition of SWC
(A modified version of what is in the camper apps for this year <3)
SWC, or Scratch Writing Camp, is a triannual virtual writing camp, in that each participant sets a word goal for themselves and aims to write that number of words throughout camp. But that's not all we do - SWC also entails activities to help you with your writing, fun challenges with creative limitations, and other tasks that you can complete to earn your cabin points. Speaking of points! There are 15 cabins (studios) - you'll be in one of them - and all through camp, friendly competition is maintained between each of them by way of a point system. The camp runs from the 1st of November to the 30th and it's entirely online, so you aren't required to check in - though we encourage you to update words and finish activities as often as possible.

Word Counts:
When you sign up for SWC, you make a word goal for yourself, and in November you will attempt to write that many words. You add the words in your wordcount studio (your department), on one comment thread. use this thread until you've maxxed out, and only for adding words. It makes it a lot easier for your leaders to sort through it all, and keeps things organized.
If you reach your word goal, your leaders will happily raise it

When adding words, use this format : (number of words) words from writing (what you were writing) so like +123 words for writing a letter so my new total is 200 words
You are expected to add up your own words. Calculator and Word Counting links in desc

Dailies and Weeklies:
Daily activities are new activities posted every day at midnight UTC. These are short-to-medium-length things that help enhance your imagination and motivate you to write. Most of the time, they have points attached - usually from 50 to 200!

Weekly activities are long activities - but luckily, you have the whole week to complete them! Starting from midnight UTC on the 3rd, a new one's posted every seven days. These are each connected to a writing workshop (more about those later), helping you use what you learned in the workshop. They usually are worth about 800 to a 1000 points!

Word Wars+ cont on dailies and Weeklies:
Word wars start about a week into SWC (when a host shares the word war project). Basically it's where you and someone from another cabin agree to write for a set amount of time, and whoever writes more wins! If you win, make sure to comment something like ”I won a word war!“ in the Main Cabin for 50 points. (You can only get points for winning a word war once a day, though.)Our recommendation is that you do at least 1 daily a week and at max 6 dailies a week. Set aside one day every week where you can rest a little, as life>SWC
Weeklies can be hard, but we recommend doing at least one this session. They're a great way to challenge yourself and improve your writing!

Cabin wars:
Twice a month, cabins can war each other with challenges. Each challenge has a time limit and a penalty if not completed in time. They're very high-energy and a good time to get hyped up!

Note from Leader: As leaders are only allowed to give recommendations on cabins to war, we ask you not to war any of our siblings, allies, or friendly neutrals. We need to maintain a good relationship with them as well. As it is not recommended you can do it (I'm not saying go ahead), but do it at your own risk. Please do not war or siblings and allies though

Writing Comp
A very good opportunity for you! We recommend it. It also gets the cabin a lot of points if you win! Also you can get up to 20 millenniums by entering!

Memory Book
The memory book is a project that serves to help us remember all the fun times we had. We're always on the lookout for funny quotes - if you see one, let your leaders know!

Rules / Expectations:
If you are unable to continue SWC, please tell us or a host. It is easier! Thanks!

The agency does not tolerate bullying, or rude comments/language.
If you see any of the above please alert us.
Please do not speak rudely to anyone in SWC or scratch.
We advise you to stick to the scratch guidelines, and do not share links to other websites.
Please be respectful and spread kindness.

”Can I have help with planning out my week?“
”Do you have any advice for balancing SWC and life?"

Any questions like this are ok, remember your leaders are there for you! So feel free to talk to Willow or any of your other co-leaders!

TL;DR
Story:
There are three departments, one of which you’re a part of. You all have the mission of stopping the main threats towards books on Earth. The conjuror, the pessimist, the arsonist and the enchanter. You’ll complete missions, which will be elaborated on more as time goes on. You earn Millenniums, ♅, by doing dailies, weeklies and by completing missions. Millenniums are used to buy things from the supply department.

Rules:
(Please read through this section in the guide VERY thoroughly, this just sums up what your conduct should be like, not the specific rules. Again, read this section as much as you need to understand it fully)
Stick to Scratch Guidelines, report rude behavior directly to your time leader in a discreet place.

About SWC:
SWC is a tri-annual writing camp that has a lot of different activities for you to do.
Dailies, a daily activity that will have a prompt for you to follow, earning points for our cabin!
Weeklies, like dailies except bigger, give you even more points for completing one.
There are also word wars, where you race someone from a different cabin to see who has written the most words in a certain timeframe, earning whoever wins 100 points!
Cabin wars, a 24 hour period, occur twice a month. They consist of ‘wars’, where, when your cabin gets warred, you can lose points if you don’t meet the requirements of the war.
You can also enter a piece of your writing in the writing competition! You can earn points for our cabin if you win, and you can also earn up to 20 millenniums by entering!
The memory book is just like a yearbook, with funny quotes and also a ‘most likely to’ poll, among other things.

Extra Activities:
Weekly titles:
More info in a forum post! You’ll get answers there >
Threat Locator:
An easy and fun way to earn millenniums. Keep an eye out for the project!
Supply department:
You can buy stuff there!
Challenges:
These will have more details as time goes on. When participating in these, you contribute points towards your department in a department war. Feel free to ask questions if needed!
Ranks:
The more millenniums, dailies and words you have, the higher your rank!
