5mb asset alert, tells you where the asset is and asks you if you want to delete it

Mockup:

This will help people locate where and what the asset is, instead of them just searching everywhere looking for their 5mb+ asset

Good idea, but wouldn't it be pretty easy to find anyways? From my understanding, the project would stop saving immediately after the asset is added.

Also, this might cause some people to complain about unintentionally deleting things since many people, especially kids, don't read alerts. They just click ok.

i've gotten into the habit as using turbowarp as the main editor

mostly because it makes the editor look cooler, makes the project faster, and makes it easier to manage and program this project that is over 50mb sb3 size.

im pretty sure it doesn't stop you from saving if there is a 5mb+ json or asset in the project, so this might be useful for people like me

or there can be a scenario where you uploaded the asset a long time ago and just kept on working for the project for a long time and then you decide to stop and save, but it doesn't save and you don't remember the assets you uploaded

as for this problem, maybe it could be limited it to only scratchers?

I'm pretty sure it's a 10MB asset alert, with 5MB project.json alert. (Probably @Flowermanvista could confirm that this is the case.) Your suggestion/mockup may need to be updated to reflect that.

I actually think this would be helpful for new scratchers who aren’t aware of this rule, or even experienced scratchers who don’t know about this. If they didn’t know this limit existed, they wouldn’t know to delete the asset.

Hello Scratch Team. You have been pushing a liberal political agenda on this site for far too long. This site should stay out of politics. People should be able to still post their political opinions, but there shouldn’t be any “official” political stance or Scratch. The ST is not going to change this on their own, and shoot down any attempts asking them to change. Please put this in your signature if you agree that

Scratch should be politically neutral.

The ST’s biggest defense is that they’re being welcoming, but they can be perfectly welcoming of all people and stay out of politics. Scratch is about coding, and that should be the Scratch Team’s biggest concern to maintain.

That's true, but I think this suggestion would also prevent that while causing less problems (like accidental deletion).

Good point, but I doubt that the Scratch Team would implement a feature that mainly only helps unaffiliated websites.

Wouldn't you get a “project could not save” alert fairly quickly due to autosaving?

That might help a little bit, but I think that Scratchers would be almost as likely to do this.
