Best Scratch Project of the Month! (May 20th-June 20th)

ATTENTION: The project has been uploaded! However, voting doesn't start until June 27th

Okay Scratchers, now's your chance to nominate what you think was the best scratch project of the month! The only rules for nominating are as follows:

• Each user can only nominate up to 5 different projects, but only one of these nominations can be a project uploaded by that user
• The project you nominated has to have been shared between May 17th and June 20th

Nominations will be accepted up until June 25th (11:59:59 PM EDT). After I get all the nominations, the projects will be ranked from 1-16. If I get more than 16 nominations, the 16 with the most nominations will be chosen.

Once I have the sixteen projects, I will create a Scratch project myself on which the nominated projects will be on a bracket. By this I mean, the #1 ranked project will be matched-up against the #16 ranked project and so on. I will later include a link to this project here. From there, you will be able to vote for which project you think should advance to the next round of voting. The schedule for voting will go as follows:

First Round: June 27th (12:00:00 AM EST) - June 28th (11:59:59 PM EST)
Quarterfinals June 29th (12:00:00 AM EST) - June 30th (11:59:59 PM EST)
Semi-Finals: July 1st (12:00:00 AM EST-11:59:59 PM EST)
Finals: July 2nd (12:00:00 AM EST-11:59:59 PM EST)

The best scratch project will be formally announced on July 3rd. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the format of the voting/nominating, just post a comment here.

What are you waiting for? Go forth, and nominate! And don't be afraid to spread the word!

Credit for the modification of this format goes to Splodgey.

I don't think the 3rd rule should exist, so that unpopular projects have a chance of gaining popularity. I just think it's unfair…

That's a good suggestion. However, I don't want people nominating projects that just aren't, you know, good. So, I'll think of a better rule to replace that…

How about this:

I would also appreciate it if you could help me with voting through cloud data when the nominations are completed. I checked out your Scratch 2.0 vs. Scratch 1.4 project, and I liked it.

No nominations?! Fine, I'll use my one nomination:

I nominate “Mousanoid” by shadowspear1 as the Best Scratch Project of the Month.

Very few projects have 100 love its especially ones posted in the last month. To be honest, I would change the 100 love its to like 5, seriously.

Thanks for the tip. I'm not very familiar with Scratch 2.0 (website), so I wasn't sure….how about 25?

I could write a template for it, so all you'd have to do is add the nominations to a list (in order) then remix it, and it would work, all the rounds in one project

Still a bit high, I actually don't think 5 would be a bad Idea.

Do you want me to make that template?

Also you could make it so a favourite counts as 2 loveits, eg. If a project had 6 loves and 2 favourites, it could be nominated.

Sure, and thanks for the help! And that's a great idea! I forgot about favorites; I'll update the rule

Well, I'm glad to see how passionate you are about getting rid of this rule, but it has sense been changed:

Okay, if I don't get one nomination by the end of today, I'm just going to have to pick 16 projects myself, make the project, and go ahead with the cloud voting.

A project is good if the people believe it is, regardless of how many love-its it has. Considering the original 3rd rule, this qualifies perfectly. This is a project, that fits every criteria almost as perfectly as the insurmountable effort I took to perfect it. All it needs is recognition.

You know what? Your perfectly right. And because of not only you, but all the other users who have tried to point this out to me, I am finally getting rid of the 3rd rule.

I nominate my linear and quadratic graphing calculator, last edited on the 13th. Thanks for getting rid of the third rule, otherwise mine would be disqualified.

Great! Thanks for the nomination! However, if I don't get at least five more tomorrow, I'm going to have to do what I explained earlier

5 nominations on 16 projects is unlikely to happen, I think 3 is more realistically possible.
If it's the highest 16 that get through anyway, then you could just get rid of that rule entirely?

The template will hopefully be finished today, but possibly tomorrow.

If we want to get this show on the road, we need to mobilize the nominees with as few hurdles as possible. In other words, if we want to get all 16 nominated projects ready, we can't wait for 16 x 5 = 80 users to reply in so few days, and may have to break the rules (not the Community Guidelines, though ). So here's some other projects:
-griffpatch's Paper Minecraft
-MrLog's InterXeptor 3D
-Sparks' Block Creator
-Midecah's Chess
That should do it for now. I'll be searching for more soon enough.

I think each user should be able to nominate 3-5 different projects, but only one of those should be allowed to be their own.
