Down With Tinypic!
I will also be getting hardware upgrades near Christmas hopefully!Gwiddle could help with hardware wize, you could pay for more hard disk space for the service.I'm not sure if Gwiddle has quite the speeds to handle really large images. But then again forum signatures are quite small. Hey that could work actually! There could be a Mb size limitation perhaps. Not a bad idea. I would not be surprised if that site ends up using a lot of bandwidth, with every Scratch page loaded and all. The bandwidth for the site would probably reach the bronze package limit.I want to make imageupload.gwiddle.org and ask the ST to whitelist it. It would be simple, require no registration, and have no ads (of course I would add basic spam protection such as a timeout between picture uploads). Sometimes the best tools are the ones you code yourself (I've experienced this a lot). First I need a better, free website to upload stuff to.
I would make it a .gwiddle.org domain because I don't want to have to deal with all my images going offline because I forget to renew a freenom domain
I uploaded some smaller images and I have no problems - it acts like a regular professional server. I'm sure Gwiddle can handle very large images.

tinypic tried to sell me a “PC cleaning” software, and it also gave me an ad that looked like a windows dialog box.

As a long time Scratcher, I have found new meaning to the name “Scratch”: for me, it means to “scratch that itch”, to come back again and again to realize new ideas in this toy language, even when I'm capable of creating my projects in real programming languages years later. It's a friend that helped me to pursue programming and get me to enjoy its fruit. I'm certain many others who have walked this path as well have grown fond of its importance in their life.

According to the forums' source code, http://cubeupload.com is allowed. It doesn't look too bad.

http://cubeupload.com is allowed. It doesn't look too bad.Hey that looks cool. I'm going to start using it. We could also make MSU open an iframe to cubeupload with another editor toolbar button for easy image uploading. According to the forums' source code,
$(".box-head")[0].textContent = "committing AT crimes since $whenever"

Seems to work really well. It did say “please consider removing ad block to help pay our bills” though. I didn't see the ads though, so they aren't intrusive at all if you have ABP.

I like cube upload, they should add a upload thing on the typer and make it upload images.

Support cubeupload, that site looks good.
No support to remove tinypic from the whitelist since it will break all images hosted there, but if it inappropriate then it could be removed from the list on the forum, like cubeupload is now.

I'm not sure it'll break the images. All the code should do is stop people from posting the links, if they're already posted then they will remain. Support cubeupload, that site looks good.

That would mean you can't ever edit a post with tinypic images, because you would have to re-submit everything when you saved the changes. Anyway, I thought this was about the adverts on tinypic, not the images hosted there.I'm not sure it'll break the images. While I do use Tinypic, I prefer SomeImage for my image hosting.
Fast, quick, easy, no ads, no captchas, no galleries of other peoples images at the bottom of the screen, and you can keep track of them all if you make an account (but you don't need to to upload a pic).
So can SomeImage.com become whitelisted instead of Tinypic blacklisted?

Nope, editing the post would update it and you couldn't submit it without deleting the picture.I'm not sure it'll break the images. All the code should do is stop people from posting the links, if they're already posted then they will remain. Support cubeupload, that site looks good.

If you guys are still interested in making an image hosting site with Gwiddle, you could easily use the API of one of the whitelisted sites, so you wouldn't have to make a request.

Guys, CubeUpload already works, so this isn't really a suggestion unless if you want to blacklist tinypic which is a pretty bad idea.

So then you don't edit or quote the post… It still won't change past posts that don't have to be edited or quoted. The point is we want to steer kids away from potentially getting viruses from tinypic and it staying on the whitelist does not help that goal.Nope, editing the post would update it and you couldn't submit it without deleting the picture.I'm not sure it'll break the images. You can't get a virus from linking to a picture on tinypic. You might get one from uploading an image if you aren't careful about clicking ads, but the solution to that is to stop advertising it as a host and so discourage people from adding more images there. So then you don't edit or quote the post… It still won't change past posts that don't have to be edited or quoted. Well, yes, that was implied. Since you do not get ads unless you are on the site itself, which is what the topic is about. And right now imageshack and tinypic, two equally bad image hosts, are the go to sites for most people. You can't get a virus from linking to a picture on tinypic.
