Hello . I believe Mass Reporting has gone a bit too far. It is a group of people spamming the report button just to get a project taken down and the user banned. Sometimes, it is nessicary, other times, it is not. Therefore, I would love scratch to adapt this new idea.

When you try to report a project, There should be 3 stages listed. The first stage is the message stage. The users will write why they want to report such project. Then, on the second stage, there should be the community guideline, The user can choose to read this. That way, they will think if the report was actually nessicary. On the third stage, you have to check “ I will not write this report more than twice”. That way, the spammers can stop spamming reports to get a user banned.

I believe this will have a positive impact on the Scratch community.

I really hope the Scratch Team adapt this idea. Please share your idea.

A single user using one account to mass report a project will not work. In order for the automatic takedown thing to work, there needs to be multiple reports (5+(?)) from different people.

When that user uses alt account is a different story, but the ST will probably send an alert to that user.

Seriously, why hasn't the ST stickied this yet?

No, mass reporting isn't an issue, especially since most of the time, “mass reporters” actually think that person is breaking the guidelines.
And, if someone gets banned for more than 1 day, their ban was correct, and they're covering up the real reason.
