Censor the words support/no support on the forums if there are no other thingies

Semi-support. It should only censor if that's the only part of the post (including BBCode).
A major problem with the forum filter is that you can put useless BBCode to get around the filters. Example:
no[/quote] support
And the result is: no
support
And the filters wouldn't care because there's BBCode.
please don't do it like that, you are messing up other people's quotes

Wait, most people are saying stuff about not being able to say support/no support at all. But my understanding of the OP is that he's suggesting not letting someone say just support/no support. So you can still say the words as long as there are other words in the post. Am I understanding this correctly?
Yes. “Other thingies” in the title is referring to other words.

Why is this a thing?

Then put “words” and it'll stop confusing people.

Is this really necessary? I haven't seen many empty “support”/“no support” messages in a while. I'm sure there are still people writing them, but there probably wouldn't be a significant difference in the amount of unconstructive posts if this were implemented.

I doubt that this, if implemented, would be intended as a be-all end-all solution to unconstructive posting. I'd imagine it as more of a casual notification, just like “hey maybe don't do that.”

It doesn't break any official rules to say something like this, so this is best left to minimods. (Provided they do their job properly)

Actually, if I remember correctly, then “support” without anything else is considered spam.

As far as I am aware, saying “support” or “no support” without further context is not against the rules.

However, it does go against the Community Guidelines, which tell you to be constructive (or, uh, “give helpful feedback”, as the new CGs put it). The Community Guidelines are just that, guidelines, so make of that what you will.
