Censor the words support/no support on the forums if there are no other thingies
Basically, if someone just posted “support” or even “no support,” without anything else in the post, then the filters would not post it and would instead show a pop-up about being constructive. The filter would ignore the BBCode in the context, so one couldn't get around it by doing su(BBCode)port. This would help stop potential spammers a little…but the main goal would still be to help Scratchers who have never used the forums.
Pros
-will help to stop unconsructive posts
Cons
-might be hard to implement
-could be workarounded easily.*
Solutions
*It might not be able to stop intentional spamming, but what about users who are just new to the forums?
I'm not even really sure I like this suggestion. I mostly made it to invoke discussion lol.

I would think there would be confusion among those who are trying to suggest something with “support” in the title of their suggestion, like “Scratch should support Internet Explorer.”

I thought support posts are allowed but simply discouraged? and this would cause some problems as you said if someone was asking for support for a certain feature or character. support/no support posts are harmless anyways.
and, does the ST even update the forum filter?

aII toasters toast toast, but what happens when there are no longer toasters being produced? will their technology simply become obsolete, with humans moving onto bigger, better things? will toast become a distant memory, written in textbooks of the future as foods us simpler generations ate? who's to say! society is constantly moving, changing, evolving, ideas being built upon, improved upon, theories being proven or disproven. are we but a blip on the timeline? sure, our names may not be remembered, but that's not the point. you can make a change. you can make a difference. you can make the world better, even if you don't know yet. and the first step is to go for it. even if you are afraid of failure. going back to the example of toasters, do you know off the top of your head who invented them? no? have you used one? probably. so, even if you don't remember my name, if I was able to help awnser your question, that is enough. if I was able to help you, even in the slightest way, this could push you to continue with scratch and not give up after the program crashes, and maybe one day learn other programming languages and change the world. everything is a cause and effect reaction, new inventions lead to the technology of the future, and even as the generations of the past are slowly forgotten, their influence lives on to this day, affecting how the world eventually turned out and how it will be for generations to come.
and, without toasters, we wouldn't have toast.

Semi-support. It should only censor if that's the only part of the post (including BBCode).
A major problem with the forum filter is that you can put useless BBCode to get around the filters. Example:
And the result is: no support
And the filters wouldn't care because there's BBCode.

Yes, Support/No Support are used unconstructively sometimes, there's no denying that. However, it's not often enough that I would want Support and No Support to be outright censored. As the censor would likely mess with people more than an annoying, simple post.1 Therefore, I believe that this suggestion would not help nearly as much as it would hinder.

Almost all of constructive posts on the suggestions forums start with “Support” or “No support”. It's a simple way for a user to state their position.

That's a good idea. It should also not count empty space around the support/no support. I'll add it to the OP. Akkkk the quote tag messed the actual quote up lol.

I think it’s the other way. People think putting support and a small reason makes there post valid. Actually expressing yourself without these words is far more constructive and leads to better conversations. Almost all of constructive posts on the suggestions forums start with “Support” or “No support”. It's a simple way for a user to state their position.

I would love to see the support convention be banned, but not in this way as sometimes need words can have different context which isn’t about the convention. But this makes unconstructive posts as everyone just put short reasons, normally stating the obvious, which is just as constructive as just saying support.
Za-Chary did say that he’s not a fan but probably not something the ST would enforce, so this sadly probably won’t happen.
All suggestions are unnecessary. If a suggestion is necessary then it's a bug report.

No Support. We have the right to say anything that doesn't break the CGs or ToU. You can say it if you want, or not depending on your opinion. If others aren't being constructive, you can be constructive! So I don't think there is going to an improvement to the suggestions forum due to this suggestion …
Exactly, so this suggestion is basically about censoring a basic English word? I would think there would be confusion among those who are trying to suggest something with “support” in the title of their suggestion, like “Scratch should support Internet Explorer.”

Maybe, to avoid people getting annoyed about free speech, it would only show once? Although,

it would have to be phrased in a non-TOUs kind of way.

Yep, we already know what happened with remixing and ToU a few weeks ago . . . it would have to be phrased in a non-TOUs kind of way.

Censoring a pretty harmless thing that mini-mods love to make a big deal out of would do more harm than good. So what if someone doesn't painstakingly remember every custom these foreign forums have, it doesn't actively harm the community.

Semi-Support. The ST could probabbly find ways to do this, but it might be hard. Even if they got it perfect, it's not bad for them to just say “support” and “no support” It's just not constructive. At all. xD

No support, as Za-Chary said, it'd be confusing for support/no support used in titles. And can't we just report the posts?

Yes, I'm sure someone is going to name their topic “No support” by itself. I would think there would be confusion among those who are trying to suggest something with “support” in the title of their suggestion, like “Scratch should support Internet Explorer.”

Wait, most people are saying stuff about not being able to say support/no support at all. But my understanding of the OP is that he's suggesting not letting someone say just support/no support. So you can still say the words as long as there are other words in the post. Am I understanding this correctly?
