Any Most words that are downright inflammatory and lack a non-vulgar meaning aren't allowed on the site anyways. The words that slip by are at least somewhat acceptable, such as “h**l” and “d**n.” Unless the person is using it against you rudely, it isn't really offensive, for the lack of a better way of describing it.

The a-word is an exception to this; it has a non vulgar meaning (donkey) but isn't acceptable on the site.

Suppressing your feelings over something does not make it better, it will just build up and get worse, or never go away. Even if you were to censor some words on Scratch, you can't censor everywhere else, so in practice it achieves nothing unless you go into solitary confinement with a computer that can only access Scratch and nothing else.

No, that's why I don't like this suggestion. You don't solve a problem by hiding it and pretend it exists, and you definitely don't solve it by ignoring every other place where that problem can occur. Without affecting all of human culture, this solves nothing.

Because the child just wrote a list of possibly offensive words.
This is the reason Scratch doesn't like people making blacklists, and I'm pretty sure they won't create a personal blacklist just to conceal problems so a tiny amount of people don't get “offended” from words.
It's better to confront the problem than to try to hide it. No “tape” will stop a person who tries.

Then what's the point of the tape if instead the tape manufacturers can just say “sorry we're not making tape, use glue”? Ultimately it's far cheaper for the manufacturer (i.e. the developers don't have to code anything)

This is a great idea but personally i dont think it would be worth the effort to code. Secondly most people would not eaven go through the effort of setting it up.

If we have a preselect of censorable words, someone's going to complain that a word that should be censored is not on the list, not to mention other normal words that trigger certain people.

Again, word censor limit should be anywhere from 5 to 50 words

How would that help? What if you want to censor ‘rose’ and it's not on the list or ‘ant’ slash ‘squirrel’ because they are creepy being that bite you and hurt and short-furred beings that stare at you with cReEpY eyes and just freak you out?

I don't think there should be a list of censored words anywhere. In account settings there could just be an input for adding a word, and removing could be done by clicking the censored word in a comment.

It would be impossible for the filter bot to detect a word as a word and replace it with its antonym. Most words don't really have an antonym.
