The Ability to Change Your Username in Scratch
Hello,My name is CalebPRF. Today I want to discuss something to I have wanted for so long. Today, I want to privilege to change usernames.
Go and see this Scratch Wiki to know what I am talking about!
Anyways, you can see the user, Scratcher. And you can see the password or country. You start to notice that you can change your country and password (the password is obvious lol) but you can't change your username.
Please can you add this feature.

P.S: Tell me what username you would replace and the new one you would put in
Всем пока! Хорошего дня!

The Ability to Change Your Username in Scratch
Rejected:
8.1 Changing usernames
If a user could change their username (or even set a certain “nickname”), this could be very confusing for the Scratch community, especially for those following that user. In addition, this would make moderation of the website more difficult because it would be harder for the Scratch Team to keep an eye on what a user may be doing. The Scratch Team has allowed username changes only on very rare occasions, such as if the username contained inappropriate content or personal information. Generally the Scratch Team does not change usernames on request (including for reasons such as “I do not like my current username anymore”).

I like this idea, but with an extension. So you can't change your username (It should stay hidden on places other than your profile, or maybe always in parentheses beside, below, or above a post), but have a nick name that can contain all characters, but still can't be a blacklisted one.

i can imagine that if… say…
“hi guys my old account is @xuya”
so i could reconnect with my friends
everyone would say
“pfft haha you're that toxic brat who bashes everyone because they don't like numberblocks”

Sorry, but this is rejected:
8.1 Changing usernamesIn the future, please read The List of Rejected Suggestions and all other stickies.

However, because of the way that usernames are stored on the server, changing the cases of letters in your username (for example, changing @Za-Chary to @ZA-CHARY) is NOT rejected; you can discuss it on this topic.
