the new scratch-www studio page
this post is ordered newest first, if you want to read it as the events played out, read this post from the bottom to the top
edit on 15 september 2021 (day month year):
yesterday, the scratch team launched the ability to transfer studios!! you can read more about the development of that below.
edit at 9 september 2021:
the next release's patch notes say “Add an option for the current host of a studio to make another manager the host”. this means that the next release will likely contain the ability to transfer the owner role (renamed to host now) of a studio to another user. this is really exciting! if you are interested in how it looks, i've posted some screenshots here. massive props to the scratch team for getting this ready so quick!

edit at 11 august 2021:
there is now a pull request to merge the new transfer updates into scratch! the feature is behind a flag, but once the PR is merged, the scratch team can remotely enable the feature. (which is pretty epic).
you can find screenshots of how it currently looks, in my post.
edit at 23 july 2021:
the scratch team is still working on ownership transfers. among some styling changes, the owner of a studio is now called the “studio host”. the changes are not released yet.
edit at 18 july 2021:
as of a few days ago, the scratch team is working on studio transfering. see new session flag, or see some screenshots
edit at 8 july 2021:
yesterday the scratch team responded on the FAQ topic announcing some planned changes. studio ownership transfer appears to be thought about, which is exciting.
edit edit:
sometime today, the follower count is no longer limited to 100, which is awesome!!
edit at 6 july 2021:
the update has launched (announcement, FAQ) alongside a few changes which were added on at the very end to prevent discussion about them. the scratch team has also been censoring posts that are too critical of the update, so be careful out there.
edit at 21 june 2021:
the following screenshots are pretty old, if you want to see something newer, and probably closer to the final thing, i posted some updated screenshots here:
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/5354944/
original content:
the scratch team is working on migrating the old studio page from their legacy django system called scratchr2 to a modern react website called scratch-www.
this will obviously take some time and these designs are not final, but here's some of my screenshots from my local instance running the latest PR from github.

some screenshots of logged in stuff from the PR itself because auth doesn't work on my local instance (session management is closed source)

exciting!

Ooo nice! I'd like to know how comment messages are handled - I'm hoping comments are viewed individually when viewing from a message

Now I can earnestly say “they're working on it” when someone complains about the lack of scratch-www styling on some pages

I wish the positioning of the follow studio button stayed the same, and comments 2nd and curators 3rd in the tab. But it looks good!
This may be also a good time to add a demote manager button whilst they are updating studios…

This is going to be disagreed with, but… I dislike how it looks.

i dont think design is finalized at all. perhaps they haven't even made mockups yet. the cool part is the technical part This is going to be disagreed with, but… I dislike how it looks.

The tab design looks a bit weird but it probably isn't final anyway.

Hey cool! I think the follow button should be where it is. Also, the Project/Comments/Studio/Activity buttons seem a bit “off-centerd”. Other than that, it looks good
Also, why is the promotion button the up emoji?

Well, profiles, the homepage, messages, all have that. this is actually pretty good. the only thing I'm really opposed to is the blue background.

they probably don't have a design yet. it's mostly just technical stuff right now. .Also, why is the promotion button the up emoji?

Looks amazing! I like the new design! Just the tabs should have been rounded rectangles

Question: Isn't this running locally on your computer? How did you get data from TFH in it?

If I understand correctly, he set up a server that returns hardcoded data. Question: Isn't this running locally on your computer? How did you get data from TFH in it?
