“You…”
“Uh-huh.”
“But that -”
“Yep.”
“So then - ?!”
“In all probability? Yes.”
“…should I be…?”
“Scared? No.” The pixie-like person shook their heads. Natalie noted that they sounded amused. She arched her eyebrows in frustration. The figure had apparently approached her for amusement, thinking it would be funny. Later, after she had tolerated their annoyances for a week, Pixie had decided the idea of telling her that they drank blood sounded grand.
Natalie wished that they would get in trouble with their superiors.
The figure had decided that Natalie was okay to be exposed to the truth. It had frustrated her to no end, the crazy faerie never shutting up. Apparently, they were also obsessed with Lucky Charms, and so they had bugged Natalie to no end until the girl had caved in and bought the cereal.
“Listen,” Natalie said. “I’m a university student. I can’t handle your problems.”
Pixie continued to lounge across her desk. “You can.” In order to prove their point, they scattered a bunch of Lucky Charms across her exam papers. Natalie shouted out a random sound and shook the cereal off the white papers, and glanced up in rage.
“Enough!” She shouted forcefully. “I don’t care about your problems! Find someone else!” She kicked her chair back and stood up, fists clenched. “Don’t bother me, and if you need a place to stay, you will not bother me!”
Natalie’s cheeks reddened, and she fought a smile back as Pixie paled. She had hit home, and continued to take a step forward. The front material of Pixie’s shirt, and lifted them. “What’s the matter?” She asked. “Was that a bit close?”
She dropped Pixie back into the seat and stood over them, smirking. “Like I said, I have no problem with you staying here. I’m willing to lend you a hand. I’ll even pay for your stuff. But I am not,” She narrowed her eyes. “I am not going to deal with your laziness. You can clean up after yourself. You can shower. You can do the shopping without causing chaos. I will NOT be your glorified babysitter.”
“Okay.” Pixie said, voice small. “Okay. I’m sorry.”
Natalie stepped back. “Good. This is out deal okay?” she turned around and began to set the bed. “I don’t want chaos.”
Pixie nodded and smiled, heading over to their own bed. What the Girl had said did hit home. A reject from family, Pixie had been bound with immortality. Originally, they had planned to change Natalie too, but seeing her kindness to them, Pixie had abandoned their plan.
Some people were just too nice.
