Ever since I heard of the 2DS, I started to want to get it. Then I watched a YouTube video about it. When the 3DS came out, parents had complaints about their kids playing on 3D mode because kids younger than 6 get their eyes hurt. So I looked up the 2DS.

Pros:
Harder to break apart
Plays 3DS/DS cartridges
Has all the features the 3DS has
Is very comfortable to hold

Cons:
Cannot close (so be very careful when you hold it)
No 3D mode


So I think this is a very good console for parents who don't allow you to play on 3D. What do you think? Type below.

Games such as Super Mario 3D Land are impossible to play, as the 3D is crucial to navigation. Also, the 2DS is basically a slope, shape wise. I've seen people hold them, and in my opinion, they look stupid.

Besides, there were plenty of DS games, but most of them went dry due to the Wi-Fi service being removed.

Ok, here's the things…

Only 3DS has
-3D capabilities, and works on all games (3DS only) (DS games only in 2D)

Both has
-Plays 3DS and DS Cartridges. Although, the 2DS doesn't have a significant difference from DS gaming and 2DS gaming if you're playing a DS game on the 2DS.
-Very confortable to hold.
-Hard to break. Although, if you get approx. 150+ lb. on each, around at least 10 mph on them, they both probably break.

Only 2DS has
-Slightly different design.

Here's some factors you might want to think about:
-If you're 6+ or you are capable of 3D environments on Screens, then I suggest the 3DS collection. It's pretty neat!
-If you're under 6 or know somebody under 6, just tell them not to flip the 3D section. Because the 3DS has Off and 3D mode on the side. But some people might get sneaky and do it anyways.
-If you want to play Super Mario 3D Land on it, it's still technically possible, although it looses or lacks the 3D part of the title, because it includes 3D uses.

Over all, I think the 3DS is better for gaming, but the 2DS is better for under 6 or 7 year olds or people who don't like 3D.

Answer: No. Get the new 3DS coming out next year.

I'm thinking of getting the 2DS instead of the 3DS just because I want to play the new Pokemon games but I don't want to spend extra money on the 3D feature which I might not use, but I have 2 questions…

-Is the 2DS as portable?
-can I get a 2DS XL?

Pokemon X and Y barely use 3D and the graphics were very poor. Also, 3D made battles lag. They were very U optimized games in which 2D was always better (or required).

I'll rather go with 2DS cuz I don't think there is actually a point spending $40 on just 3D mode. Even though the design is ugly, its comfortable and I think its good for me

there is no ads xl (yet)

I would say no. Some games aren't even possible to play without the 3D vision! If your parent aren't letting you get a 3DS, a 2DS might have to be your last resort but is reccomend 3DS.

I really don't get why everyone says the 2ds is so ugly, it looks OK to me
I'd say if you can get the 3ds then get it but the 2ds is a good alternative.

Well it's very ugly, but not many people seem to care about the 3D. When I see a random person with a 3DS, 8/10 times they have the 3D off. Plus I've heard people who play on it a lot have it close randomly. Buying a 2DS saves you money.

I think you should get it other than the 3DS because the only reason is that you save about $100 or more !

Get a 2DS. Everyone whom says “3ds is beter” Are people who got it for Christmas. I didn't plan on using the 3D, because… I don't want 3D gaming, I want good gaming. It's also harder to break (Due to this, my L Button is battle-scared), and is planning to come in more colors.
Only reason why you wouldn't get a 2DS is because you want 3D gaming or you want a bigger screen, or you want a PS Vita.

I see, I saved money and I am getting one. I wet to PAXAUS and felt the New 3ds and the c stick sucks. (No offence, Nintendo.)
