Add the community blocks to Scratch 3.0 as an extension
A long time ago, a feature called “Community blocks” was going to be added to Scratch, but the feature was never added and was forgotten. You can read about it here.
The Scratch Team should add the community blocks to Scratch 3.0 as a default extension.

XD I still remember that… my old account was one of the chosen accounts for the blocks… and I can still access the secret forum on that account…
Dunno, it might make an interesting extension, but I don't think it's high on the ST's priority list.

Support, could see uses for this as using ID's to store users for preferences and settings, and other API's are useful.

Huge support. Because Scratch is all about the community, why not add what the community wants as an extension?

They can be used, for example, to detect if the user is following someone:How? Support, even though they might be used for bullying.
set [follower? v] to (0)
for each user [following v] [Beamy68] {

couldn't you use this to make projects that only work if you are following someone?

Yeah, and you could also make it so that you can only view the project if you have loved/faved the project, or followed the creator/creator's friends. This couldn't you use this to make projects that only work if you are following someone?could be cool, but the costs outweigh the benefits.

I'd say that the blocks involving followers are rejected, as per 1.5 on this list. I'll hold off on closing this, though, because it appears to me that there are more blocks than just ones involving followers.

if you look at the pdf, it looks like the username block was originally a community block? but the username sensing block is also in the pdf. hmm.
looks like the about me and the country the user chooses can also be sensed by the blocks. using this, you could make a mini profile type thing in a project. neat.
edit: oops, forgot to put pdf link. more links in the topic linked in the OP too
