Guide about Bumping
What is Bumping?
Scratch wiki says:
In simple terms, when a topic has moved down to the end of the topic list, you can bump a topic to bring up to the top and get more attention.
How do I bump?
To bump a topic, simply make a post saying “Bump”. Some users like to be creative with this by saying things like “bumpity bumpity bump”.
What does bump stand for?
Bump stands for: “Bring up my post”.
How often can I bump?
Only bump 1-2 times a day. Any more than this can be considered spam.
When can I bump?
Scratch wiki says:
When can I NOT bump?
There are some situations when bumping really isn't ok such as:
1. Bumping more than twice a day. This is considered spam.
2. Bumping really old topics which are no longer useful. (Like old questions in which the owner is no longer looking for answer)
3. Stickies (These are already at the top so don't need to be bumped).
What is Bumping?
Scratch wiki says:
A bump is a post meant to bring a topic in the Scratch forums to the top of the forum, thus creating more activity on the said topic. A bump is generally performed by posting the text “bump” in the wanted topic.

When can I bump?
Scratch wiki says:
Bumps can be very useful when a user wishes for more opinions on their topic. Sometimes, topics which are helpful but do not provoke discussion (such as tutorials) tend to get buried after a while, and thus need regular bumping.

It would be nice if you include a guide on what is necroposting and what is spamming on here. But, I'll report this to be stickied.

One question about this guide though: you mentioned bumping over twice a day is considered spamming. What if your bumps are on different topics?

Bumping the same topic twice in one day can be considered spam. I generally say that you should only a topic bump once every 24 hours, but you can bump more often if the topic goes off the first page.

If you bumped a whole bunch of topics just saying “bump” and not contributing, that would be spamming, however. You can always bump if you are being constructive and adding to the discussion.

The topic can get 1-2 bumps a day right? Not one user can bump a topic for 1-2 times? Just making sure.
