So yeah, I'm making a game. It'll run on Unreal Engine 4.

I might update this post as the game starts to come together. As of now, I don't have a lot done for the actual game, The story and characters, however, are nearly complete. You can ask me about anything you want to know more about (but don't expect me to spoil anything :P)

The rest of the game isn't as terrifying as this I promise. I just decided to make the door person creepy as fricc for no reason. If you're wondering, the rest of the game uses a cartoony, anime-ish style.

i'm going to make the dreaded ASSIST MODE

it'll be called dirty cheater mode.


If you were to have Dirty Cheater mode enabled and you die too many times on a part of a level, you would get to meet this guy. His name is Missingno., named after the glitch in Pokémon Red and Blue. He offers to skip the part you're stuck on for 50 Varibons (the game's currency). If you pay him then he lets you do a backwards long jump to glitch past the challenge. He then leaves the scene by clipping out of bounds in a T-pose (can you do a t-pose with only one arm?) like the dirty cheater he is.

I'm not in a place where I can post a screenshot but I think I got the hang of making materials in UE4 and I made a nice terrain material that automatically changes from a grass texture to a stone texture when the surface is steep enough, and it looks a lot like something you would see in Zelda: The Wind Waker for some reason. I'll edit with a screenshot if I can remember to.

for alder grove's swim, his wheel chair's wheels could go to the back of the wheel chair and be like propellers. and for jump the wheels could extend
quickly then unextend when when he's in the air

I still need to come up with the last party member so here's some concept designs that I may or may not use. I'm leaning towards the mole lizard or the angler fish but the sock puppet could be interesting, especially with its hand-foot.

I was thinking of something along those lines. I might also incorporate the garden hoses too, maybe he could hover around or go really fast with them like in Super Mario Sunshine?

I agree the hand on that thing is kinda ugly, maybe I'll make it into a Mickey Mouse-styled glove or something if I end up going for that one.

I just gave the Spacedoors pulsating veins with weird bubbly blood in them on the frame part and I think I made it even worse. I love it.

I'll spare your eyes, at least until I finish the effect. (why are the level entrances the most terrifying things I've made so far)

So it turns out I'm not using any of those potential designs from before, because I came up with something a whole lot better:

Here's the description I wrote for him:

Nico Schrödinger
Wanted dead and alive

A feline assassin that was killed because of his curiosity, but only half of his last life was taken because of an interference with space and time. He now lives in two planes of existence at once; life, and the afterlife.

He's basically a character based off of Schrödinger's cat, the thought experiment that involves a cat that's both dead and alive.

I still hope I can find a way to use those other designs though, because Really Cool Mexican Mole Lizard is probably the best thing I've ever drawn.
