Translating Scratch into Burmese.

I don't understand why there isn't much languages in Scratch translated. I'd really love to see the new site in Burmese; please add this in the translate and even text to speech extensions.

Scratch relies on volunteers to translate Scratch into other languages. If you know someone who can help with translating Scratch into Burmese you can send them the information in the first sticky post about translating Scratch

Not sure if that's true. There isn't an option called “Add Language” in the language viewer for non-Scratch Team Members, so I think only Scratch Team members can add new language.

That is only partly true – normally you would first join the translation team in Transifex (anyone can join), and then click the “Request a Language” link in the project overview page and wait for the Scratch Team to approve this request:

However, in this case, this shouldn't be necessary since a Burmese team already exists, though the progress they've made in the editor and website is small (less than 20%), and this is why the language can't be implemented on the website yet.

You can join the team yourself (if you are a native speaker) and/or seek other volunteers.

@Seth_Zaw @technoguyx you're both right. Only a Scratch Team member can add a new language to the language menu - there are several steps that need to be done to make this happen. However, before a Scratch Team member can do that, all the resources must be translated on our translation service. To be added to the menu a language must have 100% of the Scratch editor translated and reviewed for errors. If you can help with translation, or know someone who can, please sign up for a free translator account at transifex.com, and join the Burmese translators at https://www.transifex.com/llk/teams/60938/my/
