"effect all but selected area" option in sound editor.
It would make editing sounds much easier, as you can't select two or more parts of the sound at the same time (if I remember correctly). What if it was a checkbox?
I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are. - Mewtwo

Support. This feature was in Scratch 2x. Now why not? This would be very helpful.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.
I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.

sorry
Anyway, I don't think I've ever really done any audio editing in Scratch, but I can see how this might be useful.
One question with the reversing example: if you select a part in the middle and reverse everything around it, does each side of the selection get reversed separately or is it together? (like is it treated as 3 sections, with reversed, not reversed, reversed, or is it just the unselected stuff is all reversed with the selection in the middle)
sorry

And all the world over, each nation's the same,
They've simply no notion of playing the game.
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won,
And they practice beforehand, which ruins the fun!
