Scratch should be more democratic and instead of a select few who moderate, we should get to nominate people to help scratch team . The team should also hold votes on things like banning a user or deleting projects with users because sometimes scratch team make errors. Finally scratch should give all users a chance to be noticed.

I'm going to address your suggestions one by one. Please read the entire post through before responding.
This probably wouldn't happen for a number of reasons, one being the legal issues that they might run in to if they inadvertently select a underage moderator. The current system also allows for them to select potential moderators for quality instead of sheer quantity, and they are able to get the most out of them by making them work full time, which is why they pay moderators.
Seriously, what's with people claiming that Scratch Team makes mistakes all the time? It's never happened to me, and it's never happened to anyone that I know. But the Contact Us link exists for a reason. Just let them know what happened and if they truly made a mistake, they'll reverse their decision.
Also, you'd have to imagine how this would go if they asked the community to decide. It doesn't matter whether the thing they said was offensive, or a hurtful lie, or racist, or homophobic, or whatever. If the community liked someone enough, that person could make a project that just says "I HATE GAY PEOPLE" and a decent portion of the community would probably vote to let them stay.
I see this all the time, and it makes me think of a quote from the character Syndrome from the movie The Incredibles, which goes as follows:
My point here is that it is not possible for every single Scratcher to be famous. There's probably around 1,000,000 Scratchers who have ever shared something on Scratch, and there's just not enough people on Scratch for everyone to be famous. But if by some miracle everyone was famous, then in a relative sense, nobody would be.
But if you just want to be seen, just being active and making a positive contribution to the forums will probably get people checking out your profile. Also, advertising your projects or whatever else you have on Scratch in your signature is not a bad thing. Many people do it.
This is a textbook example of an appeal to emotion, whether you realized it or not. You're hoping that when people read what you have said here, they will first pity you, and then sympathize with you because of that pity.
Now this is the part that sounds hurtful, but also the part that you probably need to read the most. This whole post kinda gives me a “i didn't get what i wanted so I'm going to rant on the Internet” vibe, but read this: You can't always have everything you want in life. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is. Things won't always go your way, and that's a lesson you need to learn now, and not when you're 19 and unable to get the job you want because you just happen to not be cut out for that job. That's just how life is, and you'll need to learn to deal with it.
Edit - small clarification

I just wanted to say that allowing Scratchers to moderate the website is rejected, as the quote below explains.
I do agree with @Flowermanvista about the voting procedure. There are too many problems with it, and could lead to a corrupted moderation system. We on the Scratch Team allow certain things, and there are certain things we don't allow.
Many people might think that sharing a link to your YouTube account which also has your email on it is not bad, and would vote to keep that information on the website. However, it simply goes against the idea that you cannot share private information with other people (this is a big Internet safety issue).
Also, using this voting thing would just take much longer for us to actually do any action. Sometimes users do such horrendous things that they need to get blocked and/or deleted immediately. This can't happen if we have to wait for ordinary users to approve our action.

8.4 Allow Scratchers to moderate the website
For the forums in particular, a community moderator program used to exist, but it was removed due to some very inappropriate things showing up in the report activity, among other reasons. As a result, the Scratch Team has decided to only allow adults to moderate the forums. By extension, there are numerous issues that must be considered before the Scratch Team would allow any Scratcher to moderate anything on the Scratch website.
If you are 18 or older, legally allowed to work in the United States, and are interested in moderating the website, check out the Jobs link to see if there are any openings for the “Community Moderator” position.
This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.
I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021. I reached 20,000 forum posts on June 24th 2024.

But if you just want to be seen, just being active and making a positive contribution to the forums will probably get people checking out your profile. Also, advertising your projects or whatever else you have on Scratch in your signature is not a bad thing. Many people do it.
F:WHAT ABOUT KAJ? All he did was say he would hack scratch and everyone knows him. How is that fair to good users who have never been banned and made lots of useful contributions but aren't famousI know people are going to reject this because nobody cares or likes what I have to say. The websites left me feeling sad because people don't listen to me
This is a textbook example of an appeal to emotion, whether you realized it or not. You're hoping that when people read what you have said here, they will first pity you, and then sympathize with you because of that pity.

F:I don't get everything I want. People use me for there own gain and I don't complain. I have to do sport events every week and I don't complain. And did you just assume my age. For all you know I could already have a job

This is my view. Scratch team decide who becomes famous and they only make you famous if you agree with them or like kaj you will attract people to the website. Scratch team don't actually listen to the users, the forums are just there to make people feel important and that scratch care about them when in reality, scratch don't

That is not true. It is the community who kinda “decides” who becomes famous. It's not the Scratch Team that decides which projects are on explore or on the front page (except for featured projects), but rather the algorithm. This is my view. Scratch team decide who becomes famous
I know lots of scratchers that are famous yet that have had lots of alerts and that have been banned before. You also don't seem to have proof to back your statement. Also, kaj is very famous, yet they seem to have done bad things, right? Does that mean that the Scratch Team decided to make kaj famous? No. and they only make you famous if you agree with them
That is the most untrue and overused statement ever. There are plenty of things that have been suggested that have actually been implemented to the website, e.g. the "[] contains []?“ block, and removing the ”invite following" from the curators tab on studios. Scratch team don't actually listen to the users
Then prove it. the forums are just there to make people feel important and that scratch care about them when in reality, scratch don't

Really? The Scratch Team doesn't decide who is famous, the community does, and the Scratch Team does listen to users, because every time I contact them, they respond with an actual, typed out answer, not an answer by a bot. I also recently asked a question on the “Questions About Scratch” forum, and no one answered except for a Scratch Team member. There are also a few blocks suggested by Scratchers that have been added to Scratch.
God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:17
Advice:
Saying “Support” or “No Support” doesn't contribute anything to the conversation.
A question that has already been answered doesn't need to be answered twice with the same answer - bring something new to the table.

They remove projects and bad things because Scratch is for people aged from 8 to 16 (if I recall correctly), so it is right to remove bad words, nudity etc.
Not at all. Stop yelling.
The things they “don't like” are things that do not follow the Community Guidelines. Anything outside of that is generally allowed. They feature projects that they think are good examples of the use of user's resources to make creative projects; not necessarily the ones they like.
Out of millions of projects they only get to choose one. Think about it: if they featured every single project then the whole homepage would be filled with tons of projects. That begins to ruin the point of “featured projects”. Besides, it's not like they went through a painstaking decision process…
So let's think of the Scratch Team as the leaders of a group - the president, the principal, you pick. Do you not think they're going to inadvertently get attention and become “famous?”
And about the topic of “@kaj being staged”. As a moderator on another site, banning on a public site is not something to take light heartedly. I honestly doubt that adults would want to use their power to abuse other users.

We block users (both popular and not) and remove projects (both popular or not) who break the Community Guidelines and continue hurting other people. We don't take blocking lightly. F:They didn't care about me when they banned me for being tricked into swearing for 6 months and forced me to delete some of my projects! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT FAMOUS PEOPLE AND THEIR “PUPPETS”
Our guidelines are in place for a reason. If you have a question as to why your account or project got blocked, then you need to use the “Contact Us” link to talk to moderator about the account or project.
If your still having trouble understanding the guidelines despite that, then talk to a trusted adult (such as a family member) for guidance.
If you're just trying to push the boundaries of the Community Guidelines just to be able to post something that isn't very kid-friendly, then maybe you need to reconsider that the website might not be well-aligned with your overall interests and you may need to look elsewhere for an online community that fits your ideals.
Not all suggestions are good, or maybe a suggestion is good but it's hard or impossible to implement, or maybe the suggestion is interesting but does not support the website's ideals. So because we reject a suggestion doesn't mean we're not listening, it's just because it's not a good fit for this website. And just because we might stay silent on a suggestion for a long time does not mean automatic rejection outright, it just means we want the discussion to continue before we make a hasty decision that could have a potentially bad outcome if not fully thought out through.
Overall, you already do have a say when you post in the forums, which we do look over a lot. Venting and blaming others for being stopped from hurting others is not a proper suggestion.
Closing thread.
Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.
