14 tips to Make a Popular and Good Game
Tips to make a good game:
1. If you make games, you can make some classics (eg. bubble popper) or you can make a unique game (idea: Cat Cruncher) or something loved by the community (pokemon).
2. High scores. That would make the player want to beat it and play more.
3. If you don't know what to make, I suggest going to the projects ideas forum or a shop for ideas.
4. A moral. A moral at the end of a game would be very good. It would make other people like your give and let you get more popularity.
5. Emphasize winning and not losses. Now this is a sorta psychological one. Don’t emphasize losing but instead let the player have a feeling of winning. But don’t make it too easy either because that would be boring. Example: A launcher game but not saying YOU LOSE instead saying YOU HIT X APPLES. GOOD JOB!
6. A challenge. That would make the player want to play more and beat the challenge. Sorta like point 2.
7. A catchy title/thumbnail. This is pretty obvious. It attracts the player to your game. A nice thumbnail is good too.
8. Get help. Forums are a good way to get help. Shops can help you with your game and review your game and give you suggestions.
9. Plan out the basic layout of the game first. Then as you go you can add all the fancy stuff but start out with a prototype.
10. You can pre-share the game as a prototype. Then you can collect suggestions from people who play it and make the gamer better.
11. Coding a game is like writing. I prefer to have a basic idea then as I go on continue adding the details. Sorta like tip 9.
12. A story/a background. A story would make the game more interesting and realistic. It could maybe let some strange places fit.
13. Levels. This lets the player want to get to higher levels to see what’s there.
14. Cliffhanger. (See, coding is like writing [tip 11]) This is also pretty obvious. Hooks the player to continue playing.
The most important point is you make a GOOD game. You can get help from people in the forums/shops.
Thanks! Please suggest more! (Note: This is show and tell, shouldn’t some stuff like this be here? I’m not crazy after stickies.)
@ResExsension for suggesting tip 9
For reviews (someone viewing your project and telling you it's good or not and giving you suggestions) order at a shop in the requests forum.

14 tips to Make a Popular and Good Game
Okay, now. The points of making a good project are:Why does no one see this
1. If you make games, you can make some classics (eg. bubble popper) or you can make a unique game (idea: Cat Cruncher) or something loved by the community (pokemon).
2. If you are going to make an animation, I just suggest it be beautiful because I don't know much about animations. If you want to know what is a good animation, plz ask some friends of mine.
3. If you don't know what to make, I suggest some stories of Crazy Stuff. I personally like those projects because they have LOTS of humor.
4. If you made a project and don't know it's good or not, plz ask me at this discussion. I will comment on your project to tell you if it's good or how you can improve it. MAXIMUM TEN PROJECTS PER DAY. If I don't comment on your project in five days, plz post the project again. If it's still ignored, plz post the project link in my profile @congyingzhou.
Thanks!

Great guide!
However, it doesn't seem you added on planning and keeping on with the game.
May I suggest:
Those three tips have really gotten me far, I think they should be added.
However, it doesn't seem you added on planning and keeping on with the game.
May I suggest:
- Plan out the game before you start making it. If you don't know how what the end product will be you probably won't stick around to finish it.
- Motivate yourself! (somehow)
- Focus on the fancy stuff later. Just get your game working before you add all the nice graphics, effects and sound. A sloppy demo is better than a “perfect” but unplayable game.

Great guide!1. I prefer to keep planning as I make it. It’s one of my writing traits and I always use it.

3. Support. Added.
1 the issue with that is if you come across a creativity block the entire project is on hiatus. It's great to have at least a plan you can work around.
2 It's not like you're going to finish a game if you aren't motivated. AAA companies motivate their employees with moneyz (and possibly a free copy of the finished game).
3 Thanks! A tip like that has gotten me really far. Once upon a time I tried making a good game right off the bat but promptly quit because I was overloaded.
