Scratch Accessibility for Low-vision and Blind Users
I don't think that would be a very good solution, because sometimes people can become blind later in life or be blind temporarily, and they wouldn't want to make a whole new account. Maybe something that you could change in Settings at any time would be better. I have an idea: Audio Guide: When you join, you get a survey saying “ Are you visually impaired?”. If you say yes, whenever you hover over a block, it voices its name. It even works for the buttons including the Language button, The profile button, and The Messages Button.
Generation 3: the first time you see this copy and paste it on top of your sig in the scratch forums and increase generation by 1. Social experiment.

How would the blind person tell if the survey does not speak itself? I have an idea: Audio Guide: When you join, you get a survey saying “ Are you visually impaired?”. I don't know if this has already been said, but you can add an inverted and a dark mode to the editor and/or the website. White, yellow, and blue light are harmful for people, especially users that are on Scratch a lot of the day or are grinding on a Scratch project for hours (I'm both of those people, my eyes hurt after working long on a project). Just an option in the navbar to turn the background to black would be fine

Scratch Accessibility for Low-vision and Blind Users
I have been teaching Scratch to Middle Schoolers for many years now. I wear glasses that help with distance, reading and computing (basically a trifocal lens.)
I really love Scratch 3.0, but it is much harder for me to see. When I help kids with a project, I have to take off my glasses and go to within about 8 inches of the screen to see their work. I can do it, but I feel really handicapped, more son than I have felt in the past. I have a student with severe vision problems who is also having difficulty. I think it's helped he and I relate to each other, so there's a plus : )
I think it would be helpful to have higher contrast on the text on the blocks - it is particularly difficult yo read the events and control blocks.
I'm glad that you folks are dealing with this issue. I love how you keep making Scratch better!

For colour blind people , how about you have something in your account settings that sets the blocks to different colours so colour blind people can see blocks clearly?(sorry for spelling color colour. I live in the uk.)

French :
Bonjour,

What about games with very little colour such as a character being plain red and the backdrop being plain blue for low-vision users?
How about no colours at all? Another idea…
