Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real, so vivid, it almost seemed like a memory?

I was inspired to write this book after last night, having had several of these odd dreams.

Zadix is a normal 16 year old.

But one night he has a strange dream.

In his dream, a woman tells him that the end is coming, and that he is one of the Chosen. Only him and a few others can save the world.

The next night when he falls asleep, he wakes up in a small shack made of wood and corrugated metal sheets. It has windows made of mesh, and when he looks outside, he finds that he's in the middle of a vast desert.

The place he's in is called The Dunes, and it is where a small community of the Chosen (also called the Wonderers) have gathered.

When Zadix wakes up, he wakes up in the real world. When he goes to sleep in the real world, he wakes up in his dream.

He begins to realize that if anything happens in the dream world, if he gets hurt or begins to starve, it affects him in both worlds.

Then things get weirder.

Things from both worlds start crossing into each other, throwing both into chaos.
